I love how different the timeline will be because of how early Order 66 was carried out.
Palpatine has seemingly turned on the entire Confederacy, including Dooku and his Dark Jedi proteges by taking Vader as an Apprentice. Palpatine would never tell Dooku to kill Ventress now, so would Savage even become a Dark Side warrior like before? Would Maul ever be found, or would he just waste away on that junk world? Would the Death Star and by extension, the Original Trilogy, even happen the same way since the Separatists are the ones who first created the Death Star plans? Granted, Dooku took the plans to Palpatine in Episode 2 but I feel fairly sure that that wasn't the only copy of the plans, just the copy that was on Geonosis. There's so many differences that I could ruminate on them for ages and ages

I'm from Michigan and I'm VERY familiar with Northface winter jackets. Very popular in my hometown when I was growing up.

Any new Separatist ground units planned besides the Droideka variants? Also any chance for a Kashyyyk camo skin for the B1s?

Or some local units of flesh n blood. Like Jabiim repulse commandos, or Gossams Commandos.

Hey Corey! Great episode, as always 😌. A bit of cool info. for ya, The North Face is actually also a really popular clothing brand here in the U.S. as well (especially outerwear during autumn/winter)! They have their own stores and outlets and everything. Your mindset with Canada being up North made sense to me though lol

Corey, I've been having problems with cruel admiral. I've done multiple playthroughs before on just normal admiral, but wanted to try something more difficult. So, I started a new playthrough as the empire on cruel recruit, but it was way to easy (my first every playthrough was as the empire on normal captain, so I'm just compairing it to how I remember my first playthrough being.) Anyway, I increased it to cruel captain, but the AI's income and military strength don't really change, and it was still easy. So then I changed it to Cruel Admiral; and the difficulty jumped from like 1 to 10 in less than 5 weeks. It was almost impossible to stay ontop off the constaint 500+ fleet attacks, and I just didn't find myself having as much fun. I have almost 400 hours on the game and have done 6 playthroughs and am currently on my 7th. IDK if I'm just using the wrong tactics, or just have more expirence now from playing and I'm just remembering my past playthroughs as being more difficult than they would be if I played them now, or if I just don't really understand how to flight cruel AI. I'll also ask in the discord server but if anyone could help that would be nice.
Edit: when I play, I'm not the biggest risk taker, so Idk if I should be taking more or less risks when I play.
    love the playthroughs btw

How long did you leave it on cruel Captain before deciding it was too easy?

as far as the risk taking goes some times you just have to bite the bullet like corey did here and do a lot of raiding only taking planets that close lanes rather than opening up more edit: raiding is the only ive found to vibe check the cruel ai on admiral diff

You can't turtle with a small feud if you start playing a GC with cruel admiral, you need to expand rather quickly, study the map, find near choke points, immediately build a planetary shield generator and then a branch office after you take a choke point planet; leave a versatile army on the planet (this will usually mean heavy airspeeders or heavy vehicles and artillery mixed with a bit of infantry). You strangle the AI on the ground where micromanaging units is a lot more effective, no need to defend the planet in space, use your fleets to keep advancing.
The AI doesn't jump into internal planets, it will always try to take the outer ones first, on rare occasions it will raid space structures but not the ground, that way you start moving your ground armies forward, as you take new planets you can leave the ones inside your territory just unguarded and build space structures there.
The AI won't run out of money, so you need to be proactive, secure at least 12-15K credits per cycle to build/replenish more expensive fleets and have some leeway, you will also need to hit and run a lot in space battles, you can't lose a 300 pop fleet every second battle.

It would be useful to consider aspects of the game that, while not part of the difficulty setting, serve to make cruel admiral more or less of a pain: your position in the GC and the number of ai faction still able to do stuff (eg build capital ships).
The way I see it, more factions active means cruel admiral becomes slightly more manageable. This is because the ai will attack each other more often. This allows them to quickly make doomstacks, but because its doomstacks, they leave many of their planets vulnerable to other ai doomstacks. This leads to border worlds being conquered and reconquered alot and often (I'm doing a large map cruel capatin EA campaign, and 2 to 6 planets change hands every week. It was super fun to see the PA eat Zsinj and reach the CSA 😆). With every planet conqured, the infrastucture needs to be built. With every planet lost, the ships need to be rebuilt. This effectively acts as a drain on the faction's income and infrastructure without you having to do anything. In effect, the ai does the raiding for you.
However, this is only true if you are isolated at the edge of the galaxy (like PA or EA). If you're in the thick of it, you will always be the juiciest target, since you'll always be behind in production of ships and garrisons, and you'll get chain attacked on all sides. It is rather unfortunate that you decided to play the Empire for your first cruel admiral campaign, because they (along with Maldrood, Hapans, and Zsinj) are the most vulnerable to this dogpiling.
Though I realise it's not really the kind of advice your looking for, I would recommend restarting a campaign on cruel captain. By the time you've setup your infrastructure, the ai will usually have decent sized fleets up and running. If you really want to put yourself through a cruel admiral run, maybe start with PA, era 1 EA, or era 7 Empire (warning though that the NR can scale very fast given its size). If you want to salvage your current campaign, consider going to back to cruel captain (keep most production bonuses) or to regular admiral (keep aggression, but make ai loses stick).
Sorry for the length. Hope this was helpful, or at least, insightful.

When in the galactic map zoom into a planet where your fleet is and select any single ship or unit you want to start off a battle with by putting it in the little square at the top left of your fleet window.
