    I have both and adore them both. It is best to wear tanzenite in ear rings or a pendant due to its softness.

    That saphire is valued at 35k and still on shelf looking at the Tanzinite wondering if it's still relevant. Times change and saphire is found everywhere "not rair" and Tanzinite well we all know the story. Coloured stones, well rarity is in mind and people are getting smarter. Diamonds are failing because internet has educated people and the industry scam is over. True value and rarity with beauty that connects with them "that's what" they want. A lot of oloured stone's are a lot rairer and as beautiful. Tanzinite yes Saphire l say no a big no and a reason. Simple it's the more rairly found stone and limited. 35k is only a number not a "real price" it's a valuation on a market led industry. There are more tricks and manipulations in this trade than any I've known. So educating yourself about gemstones is essential people.Great vidio and it's only my opinion. I would "not" buy an Emerald over a Tsavorite either it's a new world and a gem change is happening. Cheers.

      I mostly agree with your premise and see the value in tsavorite and tanzanite and a whole list of other rare gems. I do like sapphire which is still the number one selling gem. Hard to get over its durability and wide variety of colors and still generally affordable. That said you can see from my website that I generally agree with your statement.

      Rarity is an important factor. Sapphires are found world wide, even though the shade of color is unique to each location. Here in Australia there are the most stunning Parti sapphires, and most of these in a unique blue/yellow/green combination. These can be found with great cut, clarity and colour and are generally more affordable than the established popular Colours, and have a fire/sparkle that I do not see anywhere else.
      And each gem is utterly unique. I see that as value for money.😁
      Btw have recently discovered Russian Emeralds, and have fallen in love.

      You have to also consider its potential as a Veblen good. Some people want it specifically because of how much more expensive it is. Its value is in being able to buy it at a high price.

    I'm curious to see what steam cleaning a tanzanite would do to it. I couldn't find any video of that on YT so I think you'd be the first. The only thing that could possibly surpass that would be an entire video of the damage or unintended changes that could occur to all susceptible gemstones, from A to Z. It would be a 'how not do things' video with potential to 'break the internet' as they say. 😲

      An interesting thought. It would be a costly video I’m sure.

      @@Moregems I would wager a bet you could get parcels of colored gemstones from a pawn shop for shockingly low prices for a video like this. Not like they need to be large stones to get the point across. Pawn shops about give away colored stones

      Have just found out a couple of days ago, because of the Tanzanite’s softness steam cleaning them is a huge no no.😳. Causes damage over time. Apparently warm soapy water is the only safe way to clean tanzanite stones. I do wish I had known this earlier, but will absolutely do this from now on.

      Go to your local jeweller and ask them to test it, or a pawn shop. I had a amethyst that looked exactly like a pink sapphire, even the jeweller was surprised😂
      But to your point, there are shades of both that are hard to tell apart😁.

    Dun mean to rain on your parade but blue sapphire like / lab diamond are another possible source to consider for new generation jewelry because of its hardness and durability and price point.

      Natural quality sapphires are really expensive now, but a good quality lab sapphire is affordable and attractive and of course really durable.

      If you body can take it tanzanite should also take it. Careful with putting the turkey in the oven.

    There is no comparison. Blue Tanzanite is heat treated and "COLOR WILL FADE". And sapphire doesn't. Get sapphire.

    • @Moregems
      @Moregems  2 месяца назад +5

      Tanzanite color does not fade. Many sapphires are heat treated to enhance the color, too. While rare, tanzanite can be natural blue from the earth as well.

    • @maktheturd6220
      @maktheturd6220 2 месяца назад

      @@Moregems blue tanzanite color will fade. There is a thing called gia to determine heated or non-heated sapphire.

    • @VTrutht
      @VTrutht Месяц назад

      This is a little strange, but putting the fading thing aside…. who can afford the very small percentage of high quality un heated sapphires? The quantity on the market is also small, so unless you are rolling in money you should accept poor quality included sapphires with indifferent uneven color? Really?
      Apart from the issue of durability sapphire being a much harder stone, Tanzanite’s are beautiful lustrous stone, that glows with a beautiful blue purple depth of color. The glow reminiscent of that depth and glow of rubies at their finest.
      Btw I have seen some stunning UNHEATED Tanzanites.
