    Characteristics
    Trevallies are actively swimming, highly streamlined fishes with very fine scales. The most prominent features in Trevally are the forked caudal or tail fin and the ridge of plates on each side of the base of the tail. Most species are silver in colour with some species having a blue or gold colouration.
    Size
    Maximum length for a Silver Trevally is approximately 1.4 m compared to the maximum length of Giant Trevally that is around 1.7 m. The Larger Trevally species can grow up to 2 m and about 80 kg.
    Distribution
    Trevally species are commonly found along the New South Wales Coast. The species more common in NSW include the Silver Trevally, Bluefin Trevally and Bigeye Trevally. They are found on inshore reefs and around estuary systems and can form large schools. Species such as Silver Trevally can be found in large schools in offshore waters. At least 23 species of Trevally are found along the east coast of Australia.

      Bro my rig getting snagging on every cast so can I use float for that
      Do you have any ideas ?

    • @fishingvibessrilanka
      @fishingvibessrilanka  2 месяца назад +1

      When you fish Rock bottom it usually happens , can’t help it .. fish tend to stay near structures , for fresh water fishing you can fish with a float .. for sea fishing specifically when you target bottom feeding species like trevally , cods and most of the rock fish you have to use sinkers to hold the bait down and cast close to the reefs and deeper water

    • @fishingvibessrilanka
      @fishingvibessrilanka  2 месяца назад +1

      That bottle is being used as a floater so the jig line would drift away with the outgoing tide towards sea , which will take the jig line close to the reef where likely the fish schools will hang around .. when the line reach closer to the reef we jerk and retrieve the line ..

      Take a bottle and put a thin hole across the bottle top to bottom ( from the lid to bottom ) the run the main line through the bottle

      @@askarali9864 it’s a simple rig , on top there is a bottle which has small holes it will act as a floater and same time holds weight as we cast … we put a hole through the bottle and run your main line through that hole , below the plastic bottle we attach the jig line or custom made jig line .. you cast out and let the bottle and line float towards the intended spot then you jerk the rod and reel .. its best with the outgoing tide specially close to a river mouth.. so the water flow towards the sea will take your rig along with it.. its very effective when big schools of fish are there .. very good with trevally .”, queen fish and other bait fish

    Nicely done! Lucky to have found a good shoal of fish closer to the shore too I suppose. I drive past here often and the place is never without anglers. Everyday plenty of people fishing here

      I have done a few sea trolls using boats from there. Have caught many GT's, Seer, Barras and seen dolphins too a little deep out. The pier area seems like best for the regulars or area people. I have walked up there a few times driving past and people didn't seem too friendly. Last weekend I fished out from Dehiwela fishing spot near the canal. No luck. I think mostly due to the reef being too far out to see and we can't cast that far. I like how you used a large floater to make those skirted lures run shallow. Neat trick. Good luck to you mate and here's to bigger catches! @@fishingvibessrilanka
