Getting down to what we are also thinking, what was it like when the bathroom is used and someone I on the toilet, would it be good as a detector to turn on the extractor fan to reduce the smell till it was at a reasonable level?
From when I tested this scenario I noticed CO2 and VOC increasing pretty quickly. CO2 was expected since its a smaller space and I thought increasing VOC levels could be an indicator of the toilet being used but I then also just sat in the bathroom and noticed VOC levels still increased even though I wasn't actually doing anything besides sitting there. So I think the AIR-1 could be used to determine someone in the bathroom for an extended period of time but that would be from increased CO2 and VOC levels from the person breathing and not from sitting on a toilet. I'd personally recommend just using an MSR-1 (shop.apolloautomation.cloud/qdxbai) with CO2 sensor to accomplish person occupancy in a bathroom for a lot less. This would get you mmWave presence detection, CO2 monitoring in case mmWave failed to keep presence, and humidity sensor to turn on the fan if there is someone taking a shower and you want the fan on.
