- I was busy streaming every day and fighting an insomnia. Now everything is fine and I can continue to upload every week.
Finally, something to link and tell "told ya all he does is use bugs and murderbone". I couldn't resist to make a video out of it because codedive on this was very interesting. Thanks Vect0r for the hint and dothalic for figuring it out.
I think every sane person will understand the difference between recording and reporting the bug once and exploiting it. We didn't pick up sunglasses and poisons/explosions still could get us. This one was just too unfair tho, glad the crew had a chance to kick us at the end at least.

I mean, its a great way to find bugs. In my opinion, if you find a gamebreaking bug, you should be allowed a round of fun, and then explain to the GMs how it works. Keeps the jank more magical that way too.

theres a hidden room on tram that always has mice. theres a hidden door to a room with papers and a radio, its on the lowest level under the tram leading to the botany area.

Abusing bugs is usually against the rules on servers. I like the idea that abusing the bugs to the max motivates people to fix them quickly. (You also sent in a bug report, and waited to show the video until the fix was released.) Congrats on another great video!

Yeah, you needed some kind of chemicla shenanigans, a tranq dart, or mutation toxin (pax would have been a good stopgap too)

This is why you prepare heavy stuns/sleep/chems/explosives when ordinary damage doesnt work.

It's like watching the Terminator: no-sells a constant barrage of every conceivable kind of attack. This is a vast improvement over the Nooartium changeling, methinks: while the firepower is lesser, it's immensely resistant to everything (except for the singularity/tesla and shuttlecrushing, I believe) and doesn't judder all over the place, meaning you can exterminate the station's populace far more efficently.

Fun fact: on SS14, the nuke explosion is modeled as an actual explosion that destroys the station, rather than as a round-end screen. The damage it does is finite. This means that if the SS14 codebase supported surgery/organs and the DNA infuser, and you did this on it, you could survive the nuke at point-blank range.
TG had the nuke like this before explosions rework in 2020~. Explosions blast was much slower, now it's instant and too much to destroy entire station and not kill the server.

They didn't think, clearly. There was a very easy solution that nobody ever uses: Stun/Slip->Cuff. Sure, you can't die to damage, but there's still instant death threats like the incinerator, telefragging with the shuttle, the Supermatter... and not to mention you're kind of harmless until you bust out of the cuffs, so. Yeah they weren't very smart about countering this.
While there's something to be said for conforming to META and covering all bases, screwing with something like this should only ever be treated as a "just for fun" situation. I think invulnerability + killing all of sec is a little much, even if perfect META players would be able to counter it, the vast majority of people don't play that way or understand the nuance. It shouldn't be taken advantage of EVERY time.
Yeah I don't think there's really any reasonable way to combat meta knowledge so I don't think it should be that much of a problem
The bug also had stamina damage immunity, so that wouldn't have worked either

@@fernando47180 My assumption is thusly:
The rat mutation (or maybe just the heart) gives you a damage vulnerability of some kind. Probably 50% more damage from all sources. Removing the heart should clear this damage vulnerability, obviously. Except, codewise, instead of removing the vulnerability, they just add back 50% resistance. This works fine for the intended result of "you are no longer vunerable to damage, because you removed the rat parts", since the two things cancel each other out.
HOWEVER, if the damage vulnerability is applied only while you have the organ, and it doesn't remove the damage resistance when its put back in, then we start to have a problem. Since you're 50% more vulnerable while you have the heart, and 50% more resistant for each time it was removed from you. This is why they do it three times each. A total of 150% damage resistance, and 50% vulnerability from having the rat heart, for an exact 100% damage resistance.
@@Jezzared okay, that sounds plausible. And I suppose binding said vulnerability to the heart makes sense, but I don't really know how mutations, or the code in general, work, so I can only guess here.

обычно совмещая вещи которые по задумке не должны были совмещаться.
Тут интересная история, бург скинул видео где у него получилась неуязвимая обезьянка. он делал биоскрамблер аномалию (которая делает рандомные органы), рано или поздно ролилась опухоль легиона и оно жрало всех обезьянок кроме одной. Я и еще несколько людей начали разбирать что и почему так могло получится, несколько дней, и нашли трейт на резист к урону у той обезьянки. Поиском по код базе нашли что может дать такой резист - сердце крысы.
С базой знаний "смешного" можно это применять ко всему новому что добавляют на тг, а добавляют постоянно.

Mind me asking what chems you used for the stuns here? I mean they were too focused on killing you even though it was stated over radio you take no damage, stuns are the only problem I have with combat.

@@nonagonguy6121 Stamina immunity isnt stun immunity being shocked by a grille applies paralyse stacks not stamina damage, you can see in the video he got fucked over by a shocked grille earlier at sec which he then broke to avoid being shocked again
Also this reminds me of a few different bugs/exploits I had to fix for some mods and a game. ( The game mentioned being Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. The mods, well half of them no one would probably know of so I do not think it matters there. ) Where you could do things that ended up making you invulnerable to damage when you where not supposed to be able to do it. There was also a bug that allowed you to gain + 1,000x damage when it was supposed to be a heck of a lot smaller bonus.. This bug would also crash the game depending on what weapon/attack is being used.

It’s a bug. The rat heart is supposed to give +50% vulnerability when you have it, and then obviously remove that vulnerability when the heart is removed.

The code is open source, getting some basic understanding of how the underlying systems of the game work allow you to see things devs might have missed. "Unintended Consequences" and oversights.
sometimes you learn a trick and it just goes unused because there's no fun in using it against anything short of a hacker
