great update, if I may next time use something like these for levelling feet: Tube inserts square with tapped bush, also for my fabrication need, I always use HRPO steel which does not have any scale residue on it which makes welding prep a charm, I use a Dual action sander
I appreciate you showing the design process and how you get to your final design. I definitely like the table, nice addition of the tool storage! Good to see another project done and ready to use.
Having access to a plasma table or laser is so nice. For the tube bottoms, you can do a simple round hole and use a countersink bolt to center the nut. It's a lot more simple that way. Also an actual jam but is usually a bit thinner so if you had those on hand it could have yielded you a bit of height. Probably not enough, but it's something to consider.
The Old Iron Workshop, (similar content to yours but with older cars) recently did a shop table video. He bought a heavy duty standing/sitting desk that could be raised and lowered with the push of a button. Pretty neat by itself. But he modified it heavily to do a variety of things in his shop. Seems to be working out well so far. For example making it the same height as his bead roller for working on some floor pans
… but, will the bus fit in there? 😂 I love this kind of work. I remember the first time I was “introduced” to Jessie Combs on All Girls Garage. First thing she did? Build a welding table. She had some mad skills. RIP, Jessie … Nice work ..
Great content as always John. You can't build cars without the tools and workshop being right, right? ☺️ It's going to be a fantastic set-up when it's finished and the bus and COE are something to look forward to, as well as the continued BMW, Corsair and Auto-Union content. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻
Do you think those captive nuts will hold the weight of the table and everything on it ? Fortunately you’re pretty handy with a welder, but I wonder if there was a better structural design there.
Bro start an online shop (shopify, squarespace, etsy, etc.) where people send you files they want cut out and you cut the metal and send it to em. Like send cut send. Make cash off those machines
Shout out to Andy and the whole Bolts and Nuts crew - they're hands down the BEST to work with.
Heck yes man!
It’s always a good day when there’s more stuff for the shop. 👍
Absolutely man!
Loved seeing the design process for the new table!!
Everything is looking great! Shop is coming along nicely! Love seeing your CNC machine work! Talk about a game changer!

Man I gather a lot of mental notes from you and other metal fab guys for when my time comes to put up my own shop!
That’s awesome man!
Came out good
Great job 👏!!
Very nice John, i know that it will get plenty of use from you
I spy that murdered out owalla bottle. GOAT!
Yes!!
That’s a very nice table you’re building
You should cut a couple of small gussets to help stabilize that plate for the vice.
Cool Metal Table Design!....You, Gingium and Taylor Ray got some Fabrication Skills for building Shop Equipment!
Nice job !!
Great work!
Thank you!
Nice
I love your channel John! That tabe is awesomely done. Can I get one (lol). coool man! Greg

Thank you! And the bus will most certainly not fit in here 😂😂😂

Thanks man! I appreciate that!
Love the table, but my over building brain is begging for a big gusset under that vice mount.
Yes I thought about that! But it also sits on the same frame that extends the entire table, so I think it’ll be good!
Maybe on the 2” square vice leg , perhaps cut from top to bottom a slight angle to avoid getting hung up on that edge .
A plate (shelf) on the lower part of the table would provide some more storage space
Will the fixture table fit under your new table.
It won’t unfortunately, but that would have been a great design feature!
Do you think those captive nuts will hold the weight of the table and everything on it ?

Yea man it’ll hold just fine!
Question… how high a ceiling would be best for a lift that’s able to go all the way up with a vehicle on it ? Thanks !!!
Who makes that plasma table?

You know they make casters that have feet built into them with a lifting foot.
I enjoyed watching your process though.
A 16mm hole and weld the nut inside. same result
I wanted the CAD practice!
Poorly designed, can buy a standard one for < $100
More car action. What is this a home improvement channel?
Thanks for watching my home improvement channel!
