I'm just finishing animations and edits for my video right now, so this is great motivation to keep going for these last couple days! These are really helpful tips, the ones I’ve already used have definitely benefited me haha. I really love the last few tips too! Thanks Jeffery and good luck to all other challengers! 😌
You can still do it and remember that it's not the last opportunity u have. Try to find one topic and enjoy it. It'll be easier! You can also take inspiration from the previous videos on the official website.
This may be kinda strange but I think my favorite part was watching my video for the first time. I put a lot of animating/editing into it so I couldn't watch the video through as most of it wouldn't be rendered. When I finally watched it straight through (like a couple hours before the deadline) I was like "huh, this actually isn't horrible!"
I don't really know, I think they are important in order for the challenge to get to know you better but I'm not super sure how much of an impact (if any) it makes upon the result of the competition -Jeffery
Do not why I am writing this now, but I was really excited about the challenge and put my whole effort into the video But it is just like, "my production doesn't meet my previous expectations" which is really frustrating 🙁 Hope this experience helps me have a better production next year💖 Good luck to all fellow competitors:)
Phones work pretty well! At the right distance it's pretty hard to distinguish the difference between a camera and a phone. Cameras are nice for increased flexibility of filming but that isn't super necessary for the Challenge
Hi Jeffrey! I’m a contestant this year and am just waiting to hear back. I wanted to ask if you have any idea when contestants find out if they’ve made it past the peer review judging section? Will we get an email if we do, and nothing if we don’t? Thanks.
Is it compulsory to share the video at RUclips how will they get our video on RUclips ? Coz I didn't have made such kinda videos previously and I haven't shared or made any RUclips video and I don't know how to edit them. I am very confused about which topic can I cover and what kinda explanation I will give in that video . So I wanted a helper to help me out through this who has already won a prize before.
Yes you will have to upload your film to RUclips as you will be submitting the link to the video in your submission form. You will have to make the video public so that the challenge and judges are able to see and grade it.
To be safe I would use a gif that is non-copyright. The legality surrounding using a GIF is a little complicated so making sure it's non-copyrighted is the safest bet. Hope this helps!
the 'get some sleep' tip hit real hard :'D
rightt 😂😭
Yeah sleep is hard lmaoo

"get some sleep" Ha, I haven't slept in 30 hours. hope my google slides are good enough lol
How did you learn to use AE and Premiere pro?
I'm having a lot of trouble in deciding the topic only 😭 . Any helping hand please

@@mukeshbhargava3011 thank you so so much ☺️ I feel like yes I can do this
Also, what was your favourite part of making your BJC videos, anything from researching to peer to peer?

Hey Jeffery! Just wanted to thank you very much for making these videos! They truly helped me and I'm grateful for them! Once again, thank you!
Of course! I’m glad they helped you, and I wish you good luck with the rest of the Challenge!!
Thanks for answering my question :)
One more query 🙄 who uploads our video on Facebook is it ourself only or Breakthrough junior challenge team would do so 🤔 ?
There's 3 days left and my footage was acting funny and giving me a heart attack. I fixed it tho.
wait are you using iMovie? mine was being annoying too lol
@@katieyu9374 no I was using hitfilm express. Turns out it wasn't the software but the way I imported the files was messing it up.
How important are the short answer questions?
I don't really know, I think they are important in order for the challenge to get to know you better but I'm not super sure how much of an impact (if any) it makes upon the result of the competition -Jeffery
Thank you so much for the tips.
You are so welcome!!
Hey Jeffery!
Could you please suggest some sites or resources from which I could learn video editing and animation stuffs?
Is there anything you'd recommend for people applying without a stem background, how much of the judging is based on scientific accuracy?
thanks to you my set and audio is amazing
Of course!!
a day before the challenge? congratulations!

in the description of your vid did you select if your video was made for kids or not for kids?
Thank you for answering my question at the starting. Can I just use my phone to record or do I need a proper camera to record?

I'm still scripting my video lmao ....
Omg you gotta be quick

Oops, SAME.
Hey Jeffery! Is it fine if we use any media -- images, videos -- as long as we provide credit? (Would this be fair use?)
I have this question also. Did you enter the challenge? If so, did they let you use media like RUclips videos as sources?
Ok but how do you deal with feeling nervous after submitting lol 😂🙃

did you find out if they contact you? they just finished the evaluation panel review and I keep refreshing my email and nothings coming up 😭

This just made me even more nervous. I don't know, I'm still editing😭😭💔
You got this Kaycee go for it!!!!

@@kaycee.mp4 No worries
I am also participating, but get your video in cause I would love to see those skillfull editing skills.
@@benita9218 Me too😊😊
Hey i wanted to know .... Is sharing on Facebook important or i can skip that
You can if you would like, but sharing your video on other platforms (i.e FaceBook, Twitter) is not necessary.
I didn't understood what peer to peer review how to done that😬
It typically starts a couple days after the submission deadline, and the BJC website has info regarding what to do.

are gifs of giphy safe to use??

I have some clips of about 12 seconds from other videos from youtube so will I have to put the video links in the description of my video
I would, just to be safe and to keep track of what you used!
Can I unlist my video rather than public?
I think you could, but I would keep it public just in case
Just asking rn, what if the video is 3:01 long? Just asking.
:)
As long as it is 3.00 on the youtube timer, that was what the team recommended
Hey, I was wondering how important those 250 word essays are in the application. Do they count for anything? Thanks
jeff u need to sleep too my dude
yes I know but I could also be scrolling on reddit so...
