Matt is telling the truth. Seriously, someone plopped Aubrey in front of the casting directors during auditions and they wrote a character around her personality.
This show was created for Aubrey, my roommate would play this downstairs and whenever Aubrey spoke I’d crack open the door and lol for a bit
Aubrey helped create the character, the character's nature and role in the story, it was even her idea that April gets together with Andy. Aubrey based much of the character on her sister.

but I love how she loves Andy. He's literally the only person who can talk to her because even her parents never were able to do that. She changes so much when she's around him, she's very loyal and kind to him. Their relationship is awesome sauce!!
