I’m at the end of the entire video. Great information. Thank you. Very explanatory.
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful!
Awesome, short, sweet and to the point.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Clear and simple explanation.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video, I’ve been looking for this kind of information for a while now. The information that is with the collar is so basic. He doesn’t even mention the tone buttons and how to use it. Thanks for the information about the accessories. Definitely going to upgrade. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful. Happy training!

Great video. Couldn't figure out the "wings" on our dogs collar when she came back from training boot camp.😀
Great explanation! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful
This was soooo helful thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Great video. I didn’t quite understand why using the T is not good? What is difference between T and S? It sounds like I should always use the S. I use the T as a warning but sounds like this should not be the case. Advice appreciated.
The T is a vibration (can also be changed to an audible tone) and most dogs are going to find a vibration more startling and aversive because it's not adjustable and the level can not be lowered. The S is stimulation and the stimulation can be adjusted from 0-100 to find the level that is just right for your individual dog. I hope that's helpful.
Does the audible tone not work very well for most dogs either?
Good info. Thank you! Helps a lot.
Happy training!
Do you reccomend using the longer contact points if i cant get my dog to feel the shock? I have a mixed cattle dog and for some reason i cant get him to react after setting it up correctly.
I almost never use the long contact points. If you suspect it's a contact issue, id recommend using the winged contacts (buy it separately on their website). But it may just be that you're looking for a very obvious reaction to the stimulation. Your dog is probably feeling it but only giving a subtle sign i.e. eye blink, ear flick, freezing for a second, etc. You shouldn't be getting really big reactions from your dog, big reactions mean the level is way too high.
@@leadthewayk9training A trainer i work with was having the dog react just fine when it was set around to 15. I'm just kinda confused, even turning it up doesn't really incite any kind of reaction, makes me think it's just not working for me.
Hello. I have been able to implement vibrate and tone but cannot the stim. I'm trying it on myself lol and feeling nothing and am at level 5. I have a feeling it's simply not working . Any suggestions please?
Level 5 is very low. Remember the stim goes from 1-100. Most people don't feel the stim much below 10. So put the ecollar on your arm or hand and keep turning it up 1 at a time until you feel something. It's good for you to know what your working level is before doing the same process with your dog. All you're looking for is the lowest level of perception. If you're not experienced with ecollar training, I'd strongly recommend you work with a local dog trainer or if there aren't any ecollar experienced dog trainers in your area, you can purchase this book and follow it's instructions: amzn.to/40OQIKU
Hi ; thanks 4 explanation; my question is how high should # be on the neck ; Belgian Malinois ; thin neck ; I have no idea if he feels it ; when I called the company they said to test on my wrist ;
I did ; @ level 30 I felt nothing ; they couldn’t answer any questions about the training; I use a prong collar & always a leash ; { 6 months old } ;
He was trained when he was @ B @ 24:47 😂T for 4 weeks; I don’t remember what trainer said ;
Are there videos for my questions ( live in CA , thanks
If he was trained professionally with the ecollar I would recommend you speak to your trainer and ask for a refresher lesson with the ecollar. I always strongly recommend working with an experienced dog trainer with the ecollar. If you can't continue to work with your previous trainer, id recommend buying and reading this book (Everything You Need to Know Ecollar Training by Larry Krohn) BEFORE you continue with the ecollar on your dog: www.amazon.com/Everything-need-about-Collar-Training/dp/1521126550/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?adgrpid=118347556760&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xu4I6VWZZoQzR0XXacm1YV0EDqU0iOnAyfc2EziL1Cc7yUsJ0lhb3mIYcazRKL0Hn2xjEqJwqmtdDuVtMD_dSJwrcJdfLP8UZ26x_O5NDCTfSwi6DkGi5vhtQOm4g9mIeKzrMBsoKFFv1F7aUHxokWTJz8D39MFtoV65LdGxNwqz8ylvWfAf9SAjkBrDeqkzFdB8o1HCnmAqJtW_RSx9Gg.kO8BiVSXvMC0EnXZaGy_BxiIBf-fH80iK7n93J2q-7Y&dib_tag=se&hvadid=617005354479&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9009606&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=3947692328387301235&hvtargid=kwd-592148412368&hydadcr=15148_13597721&keywords=larry+krohn+e+collar+book&qid=1714852383&sr=8-1
Thanks from London that was very helpful
Glad I could help!
what is the brand of the bungee collar you like please?
We like the ones from K9 vitaminshop. www.k9vitaminshop.com/product-p/fgs-ebc.htm
Is the bungee strap one size fits all? Which brand do you recommend? I have a 20lb pomsky
These are the kind we use: www.k9vitaminshop.com/product-p/fgs-ebc-s-8-16.htm They come in small or med/large. I'd use a small for your dog.
Where are you located?
Charlottesville, VA
do you have a package that has the ecollar and trianing to go with it? how many sessions would i need ? and you give the contacts out for free haha
Yes, we do offer training programs that include training equipment (including ecollar and accessories). If you visit our website and fill out a contact form, we will be in touch to schedule a phone consult where we will discuss your training goals and the different training programs we offer. www.leadthewayk9.com Thanks!
i have an Aussie and i bought Winged Point as you recommend, but after we found sores on dog neck. We dont use it all day, we set ecollar on neck right - at 8 or 4 o'clock, but i wanna ask if it possible because of snow, active walks and runs? or maybe when the dog shakes off - the collar turns around the neck and slides off? any tips? thanks
It could be a metal sensitivity. Unfortunately they aren't making the titanium wings anymore but you could try the longer titanium contact points. Otherwise, it could be that the collar is too loose and moving around which can cause irritation. It should be snug enough that when your dog shakes it's head the collar doesn't move at all. Or you're keeping it in the same spot too long. I'd be shifting the collar to a new spot every 2 hours, use the entire neck not just 2 spots at 8 and 4 o'clock. Keep it clean by rinsing it or using rubbing alcohol. Some dogs are more sensitive.
@@leadthewayk9training thanks for your fast reply. i try what your suggests. But before i buy this Comfort pads, people and AD say it can be used all day long. But any way i will try changing spots and snug collar as you say. Big thanks.
@@leemlller yeah I understand and with most dogs that's the case. But some dogs just have more sensitive skin/necks. Hope it helps! 😊
where can we purchase your favorite bungee and winged contact points
You can buy the contact points directly from ecollar technologies at www.ecollar.com/categories/accessories/comfort-pads/cpads-for-rx-090-small-rcvr-and-rx-120-large-rcvr and there are several online vendors who sell ecollar bungee collars.
Great tutorial. I tried holding in my hand to send pulse to unit with no success, does it only work when strapped on dog?
Every dog and person's sensitivity is different. Start at level 1 and slowly go up until you feel something. Make sure both metal contact points are touching your skin. Personally, it depends on what part of my hand I put the ecollar because some parts are less sensitive. Most humans don't feel anything below level 6, some humans don't feel anything until it's in the teens.
@@leadthewayk9training well I just did my very first training...not sure it was all that great, I had to turn the dial to about 37 before it really did anything. Nervous this will hurt? Was really unable to stop her from pulling or darting off:(. 10 month old GSP.
I am going to look for some more of your videos
@@andrewseeker6970 so that's a really high level for a dog. You need to look for the most subtle sign your dog is feeling anything- an ear flick, a tilt of the head, scratching at the collar. I recommend if you don't see anything to start at level 10 and condition with food. So push ecollar button, give food. Push button, give food. Also you need to make sure the ecollar is VERY SNUG. That's the biggest issue with most people because the dog won't feel anything unless you're getting good contact with their skin. If you are brand new to ecollar training I recommend finding a local trainer who is experienced with ecollars. Or buy Larry Krohn's ecollar book on amazon. It's easy to follow and will help you not mess up.
@@andrewseeker6970 Went back and read your comment again. You should not be using the ecollar on the first session to STOP your dog from doing something or to correct disobedience. You have to spend the time to condition your dog to know what the ecollar MEANS. We don't use the ecollar for any "no" for several weeks. We want the dog to understand it at low levels as a prompt. The initial conditioning phase is the most important and usually what most first time ecollar users do wrong. www.amazon.com/Everything-need-about-Collar-Training/dp/1521126550/ref=asc_df_1521126550/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241995309321&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11807912714781204584&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9008843&hvtargid=pla-547402577447&psc=1 That's the link to Larry Krohn's ecollar book. Buy a copy and read it before you start using the ecollar again, or hire a local professional to help you.
@@leadthewayk9training thank you so much for the information. I have reached out to get professional guidance
Where do you buy the escolar ?
You can purchase this ecollar on the Ecollar Technologies website www.ecollar.com
How do you change it from vibrate, tone or shock?
You can change the button on the right from vibrate to tone. But the left 2 buttons are always going to be stimulation ("shock").
I can't figure out well looking for the right color why no one talks about the small yard proximity level. Everyone talks about the longest range of half a mile but what is the smallest allowable range?
The smallest range? You can use this standing right next to the dog. Its a training ecollar, not an invisible fence or electronic boundary. Not sure if that's what your question was.
@@leadthewayk9training okay you cleared it up for me I need to look for an invisible fence collar do you have any recommendations? A lot of them start at 65 or 100 feet but I have a small yard thank you for replying.
@@TheSaltyEgo I've heard good things about this fence collar spotonfence.com/
Pet Safe also has some good boundary collar options. Before buying anything I'd recommend talking to their customer service to help match a specific product to your property needs. Good luck! ☺️
I cannot figure out how to use the two S buttons on mine. When I press them, nothing happens
What level (number) does it show on the screen? You have to remember that at very low levels the stimulation may be below your and your dog's level of perception meaning you don't feel anything. When you push one of the S buttons the light on the remote should light up red and the light on your dog's collar should light up red. Is that happening?
Ho do I know what setting to put it on?
I have new clients keep the settings how it comes in the box- with both momentary (M) and continuous (C). That means there will be no Boost function active. When you get more comfortable using it and if you need to use the Boost function, then you can change the setting at that point.
@@leadthewayk9training there is a boost function active
What does a 7R mean?
Is that showing on the screen? I'm not familiar with that one. It could be an error code possibly. I'd recommend calling customer support and having them walk you through troubleshooting the issue. Their customer service is amazing! The phone number is on the back of your remote.
Great video, thanks Heather
My e collar doesn’t work.. the buttons S no working I don’t know how can I do my doggy needs the ecollar
Call the customer service phone number that is imprinted on the back of the remote and they will help trouble shoot why it's not working.
is there a sound stimulation button ?
There is a "tone" setting. You have to change a setting to make the black V button to the right of the antenna become an audible tone button instead of the vibration button it comes set to.
Where would I put it on my dogs neck?
You can position the e-collar anywhere on your dog's neck (front, back, sides, high up on neck or lower down the neck). Just be sure to move the e-collar to a new spot every 2-4 hours depending on how sensitive your dog's skin is.
We have the et-300 and the receiver will turn on but then shuts off after a couple of minutes. When I try to pair them again the receiver will light the two little lines up white whybwould this be happening? Fully charged.
I'm not sure. Call the customer service # 1-855-326-5527 and they will either figure out what's wrong or send you a replacement if the unit is within the 2 year warranty.
For goodness sake’s how do you pair the damn thing get to it
Kind of hard to view due to darkness of video.
