We drilled beans in for probably 20 yrs. Started with a seeder on the 3pt hitch of the tractor pulling a disc lightly behind behind. Tried that in a similar washout areas like you have. Liked the results, next year used it on some beans after winter wheat, again went well. Bought a 15' Deere drill ( about like you used), put in half our beans solid stand. The year after, drilled all our beans, never looked back. Eventually bought a 20' Tye drill. really liked it.

I totally hate paint scratches so I have never put anything on a vehicle. Scratches make rust spots eventually.

I came out of Lowe's the other day and a guy had bought cardboard boxes and had them stacked on the hood of my car! He was using the hood to stage the boxes while loading into his trunk.

Got a question for you DC. Why are those pieces of equipment called grain drills? I heard a guy who farms with horses called his planter a grain drill too. And I watch his channel too. Working Horses With Jim. He also logs with his teams of horses.

When parking trucks for the long term indoors, I open the hoods to try to keep the mice out.They don't like the open feeling and light,so I been told. Seems to work.

Farming with the old equipment and 80s technology comes along way. Storm chasers were in Cedar Rapids following the cold from but it fizzled out. Your 4840 John Deere is my favorite Tractor to watch whenever you all work the farm. You all have took great care of it Hope to see it for years to come. How many hours are on it? And was this one of the tractors your dad bought?
I liked when Deere had more yellow on the equipment. The yellow gang disk and the yellow two post roll bar canopies yellow grain drill lids yellow reels. Just sure seemed to make the equipment pop back in the 70’s.

Teach the g-kids Pythagorean theorem. Did that with my granddaughter. She went off to kindergarten knowing a^2 + b^2 = c^2. Didn't know what to do with it, but she knew it. Years later when she got around to geometry, the lightbulb shone like a beacon.
