This season did a great job completing Clark’s journey to becoming Superman. I thought he was ready at the end of season 9, but they did a great job showing how he still needed to resolve his guilt for Jonathan’s death and other tragedies and also develop a Clark Kent disguise. This season also managed to give fans moments and characters they wanted to see before the show ended like Lois and Clark flying, their wedding (sort of), and Superboy. I’m also really glad Chloe was missing most of the season
Something I think a lot of people miss about this series: It wasn't primarily a modern live-action super hero show. It was a night-time soap opera with super heroes as the main characters.
I'm guessing it kinda has to, at the risk of being called repetitive (how many times did they pull the "Lana is dead..... Until next season" trope? 😂 )

I honestly like the final season of Smallville, in spite of some slight issues. Darkseid is the perfect final villain, and while I did wish the season had more of him in it, Darkseid slowly corrupting the people of Earth was a pretty good way to challenge Clark towards his final steps to being Superman. It even brings up the darkness Clark has been carrying since perhaps Jonathan Kent's death, and how he overcomes it with the help of his true love Lois Lane. Also, Jor-El didn't really abandon Clark this season, despite claiming to Kara that he disowned Clark. The problem was that Jor-El was aware of Darkseid, and Clark's own darkness put him at risk against Darkseid. In fact, when Clark first confronted Darkseid, he already lost due to the darkness in his heart, and Kara had to protect him. Clark saw for himself that he couldn't defeat Darkseid. If anything, Jor-El needed to give Clark the room to grow and overcome his darkness, but he never stopped believing in Clark, which was shown by how he kept the Superman suit in the fortress for Clark to get when he was ready. Once Clark started to overcome his darkness, be in a better relationship with Lois, and start trusting humanity again, he could be seen as a beacon of hope, a light that could even threaten Darkseid's plans, which is when Darkseid decided to use some of his contingency plans to stop Clark. Darkseid even tried to use a gold kryptonite to permanently disarm Clark of his powers. Fortunately, Chloe prevented that. I'm also glad that Lex Luthor came back during the series finale and his final confrontation with Clark in the finale. I was even okay with Tess in the final season, her Luthor lineage, and her sacrifice to protect Clark's secret from Lex. I still honestly wish that Clark was shown wearing the Superman suit in the Smallville finale. Even so, Smallville was a great story of how Clark became Superman. Better than Zack Snyder's misguided take on Superman. I also still don't like how the live action crisis on infinite earths had Smallville Clark give up on being Superman after all that time learning to accept his destiny as Superman.
I mean, his design was pretty ass tho. I understand that they couldn't do a proper CGI Darkseid, but couldn't they have done what they did with Doomsday and do a fairly good costume version?

I love Smallville I started watching it recently I was kinda too young to watch when it was on but I grew up watching Arrow and Flash and the other CW DC shows and it’s great to know that Smallville paid the way for the other shows I grew up loving like Flash and Arrow.
Smallville season ten wasn’t the perfect final season but it was a great final season nonetheless, it was so satisfying seeing Tom Welling’s Clark Kent finish his journey off to becoming Superman and his interactions with Erica Durance’s Lois Lane were awesome in this season as well as getting his happy ending with her, plus I was happy that Clark revealed he was The Blur to Lois in this season also, after that “love triangle” in season nine between Clark, Lois and The Blur. Yes there’s times where the writing could’ve been better and Darkseid could’ve and should’ve been a better final villain as well, but overall I was happy with how this final season played out. Also clearly Smallville did something right to last ten seasons, otherwise it would’ve been discontinued sooner, this season ranks somewhere in the middle of my Smallville season rankings. #AlwaysHoldOnToSmallville and #SmallvilleForever my fellow Smallees. 🔴🔵👍🏻 #Smallville #ClarkKent #TomWelling
While I waffle on who is the better Superman, Cavill or Welling (I'm leaning on Welling being the better Clark and Cavill as the better Superman --- which is a copout since Welling was almost never Superman) there is no doubt in my mind that I have yet to see a better Lois than Erica Durance. Smallville is pretty much the blueprint for all superhero tv shows, to the point you can see its influence in other shows. Most of the future DC shows, live action and animated, to other series’ on the CW like Vampire Diaries to Legacies, to even Marvel shows, you see a lot of what Smallville did. Some did it pretty well, others did it better, but not many do is AS good as Smallville.
15:51 To this day I genuinely believe that if Clark disregarded his father's extremely harsh and semi hypocritical Judgment; gave lex benefit of the doubt and told him his secret right then and there when he came to him about his suspicions I'm pretty sure that Lex would have went down an entirely different path where they both would have became greatest allies instead of mortal enemies, sure there would have been up and down moments between the two where Lex's curiosity and thirst for knowledge would test Clark's patients but in the end they would have been able to come to terms with each other and been on the same destiny of changing the world for the better rather than vying for control over the fate of the world, it would have been extremely nice if we had gotten a what if Episode to show that being the case plus rewriting the finale where the alternate version of Lex being the classic villain we all know coming to their Earth and this version facing off against his doppelganger and even though tragically taking his sister tess mercer's place in losing his life being the one to wipe his memory of everything he learned of Clark's identity as Superman symbolizing his ultimate Victory against his inner Darkness as well as a parting gift to team Superman; solidifying his loyalty to his best friend and brother!💯🔥😁😉👍

Great summary of Season 10! It’s my favorite season of the series. Lionel coming back as a villan makes since however as that version of him never had the influence of Clark Kent in his life. He didn’t have the “Transference” moment that changed his character arc for the better that the original Lionel did. Instead in his world, he got ahold of Clark as a baby and continue to be the villain and made Clark Luthor the villain too.

this was fucking great dude your Smallville series was an amazing tribute and it reminded me why i love Smallville btw are you going to do a video on the Smallville season 11 comics
I like the reason why he never flies.. and all the other kryptions do. Its because he never accepted his fate, his powers, he was always hiding, always trying to fit, always trying to be a human He only flies when he finally realise that his disguise should not be superman, but actually clark, and when he's out there saving, he's 100% himself with no disguise. That makes he fly.
Nicely done!! Smallville is the best superhero show ever. Not perfect but full of heart and character development. I often thought that because the characters were so interesting you didn't really need superpowers or big stunts. My favorites were Erica Durance and Tom Welling who portrayed what I believe are the best versions of Lois and Clark. Their banter and flirting elevated every episode they were in together. Rosenbaum was a great fully developed person who just leaned more to the dark side. Kristin did the best she could as Lana. John Schneider and Annette O'toole were the best Johnathan and Martha. John Glover was fabulous. Loved Justin Hartley's take on Green Arrow. Enjoyed many of the recurring guest stars particularly Alan Ritchson, Greg Morris, Kyle Gallner and the wonderful Serinda Swan!! Don't think we will ever see another superhero show that lasts this long and has such a great impact. Warts and all it is a wonderful show to experience!!
7:05 how do i not remember this scene?? Ive watched Smallville a million times and i feel like ive never seen this with Lois and Clark and Jorel and Laura..
S10 storyline feels even more relevant today especially about the political stuff and the government taking away everyone rights as soon as it feels threatened😢
But ultimately this version of Lois did in fact get in the way of Clark being Superman and being a shining example for the world. That's kind of f***** up if you think about it.
I disagree. If you really understood the show, you’ll come to realize that all Clark ever wanted was to be normal, human. He spent so much time avoiding his destiny. And I feel Lois was even trying to encourage him to pursue it. But ultimately, he decided to pursue another path. And honestly, that ending in Crisis works well for this version of Clark Kent.
Rewatching this show got rid of the nostalgia i had for it, and kinda replaced it with endearment. It felt like watching someone try to show you something cool.
I haven't rewatched Smallville since its original airing so I honestly don't remember a whole lot of it, but I remember really liking the last season and thinking that it had regained a lot of its heart. I may do a rewatch to see if that is still my impression lol. But on the whole, I remember this show fondly and I still think Michael Rosenbaum was the absolute best Lex we've ever gotten in anything. (I was also very fond of their version of Clois but then Superman & Lois happened and took that crown).
I haven't watched your videos for some time, but coming back makes me realize how much I adore your storytelling. Your love for the shows or characters always comes through and it makes me appreciate them and especially your work so much more. Thank you for being there and sharing your passion with us.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but Chloe was such an integral part of the show. She was one of the aspects carrying the show 10 seasons. Shame she joined a cult in real life.
I haven’t watched season ten in a while but i don’t remember it being that memorable but also not forgettable Definitely the production value sucks but at least they tried to give us good episodes
Im watching "Impulse" on RUclips Premium and its awesome even though the main protagonist is written so unlikable, it has amazing production, cast, direction and acting for a web streaming series..... I was just wondering if RUclips has the budget to continue with licensef properties like a Smallville Season 11 or a reboot and do the modern shortened 10 episode season arc..... Thoughts??????

I’ve been putting off the last season, I only have 12 episodes left now I gotta go watch it before thissssssssss damn
I've wondered if it isn't a generational show... something just for a certain generation while the rest of us can't quite ever warm to it.
"and I was a smiling babie again...althroug that souded creepy" Why it so funny
Nice the return of something that was changing your mind
Chloe the kind of chick that will hold down another chick to be branded by her man, if thats not best girl then idk wtf to tell ya
I want a Tom Welling as Superman!
Tom and Erica had great chemistry, I was so pleased to see them both in Crisis on Infinite Earths
I hated it in terms of Clark giving up his powers which is why I say it's A Smallville Earth but not THE Smallville Earth.
S10 storyline feels even more relevant today especially about the political stuff and the government taking away everyone rights as soon as it feels threatened😢
I hated how clark never wore the superman suit and Darkseid never having a full blown fight with clark
Truly the Superhero novella of all time
But ultimately this version of Lois did in fact get in the way of Clark being Superman and being a shining example for the world. That's kind of f***** up if you think about it.
But did she really? Do you know for sure?
Hey man i think your takes are brilliant, that being said, I can help your short form content game. So you can show the world what you mean.
Rewatching this show got rid of the nostalgia i had for it, and kinda replaced it with endearment. It felt like watching someone try to show you something cool.
Small ville ❤
I haven't rewatched Smallville since its original airing so I honestly don't remember a whole lot of it, but I remember really liking the last season and thinking that it had regained a lot of its heart. I may do a rewatch to see if that is still my impression lol. But on the whole, I remember this show fondly and I still think Michael Rosenbaum was the absolute best Lex we've ever gotten in anything. (I was also very fond of their version of Clois but then Superman & Lois happened and took that crown).
This intro song is amazing
I hope you do the comics only season 11 too
I haven't watched your videos for some time, but coming back makes me realize how much I adore your storytelling.
Your love for the shows or characters always comes through and it makes me appreciate them and especially your work so much more.
Thank you for being there and sharing your passion with us.
I was waiting so long for this, this is awesome
As bad as Gotham is, at least they gave us Batman in full costume once at the very end, which felt like they were throwing shade at Smallville.
How dare you not cover Tom Welling's return in the Crisis event for the CWDC crossover.
Who's Tom Wellington?
I want to hug you for praising this series so thoroughly. 🥹
Forever my favorite show of all time
Callum Blue looks like drunk David Tennant.
I kinda wish you had talked a little bit more about the smallville section the Arrowverse Crisis event.
Smallville: Arrowverse
Blade,XMen, and Spider Man:MCU
It might be an unpopular opinion, but Chloe was such an integral part of the show. She was one of the aspects carrying the show 10 seasons. Shame she joined a cult in real life.
I am 54, this is the show that was a bond between my children and me, my daughter is gonna be 30 in July. RACHAEL ANNE CALL YOUR FATHER.
Great video
Wait, was this the Mercy video!?
IP: "That's what it sounds like to me!"
I love season 10 as well, man.
I haven’t watched season ten in a while but i don’t remember it being that memorable but also not forgettable
Definitely the production value sucks but at least they tried to give us good episodes
smallville is honestly perfect. great video.
aye you should do a vi on the season 11 comics
Im watching "Impulse" on RUclips Premium and its awesome even though the main protagonist is written so unlikable, it has amazing production, cast, direction and acting for a web streaming series..... I was just wondering if RUclips has the budget to continue with licensef properties like a Smallville Season 11 or a reboot and do the modern shortened 10 episode season arc.....
Thoughts??????
I CRIED LIKE A BABY EPISODE 100 WHEN PA KENT DIED.
I did enjoy this season, but it could not live up to season 9. The Hawkman episodes were the best.
