To the person who is having issues feeling good in their own body, the best thing I ever did was unfollow the ppl who made me really insecure every time they popped onto my feed. Even if I loved their content or their message, if that was the case I would mute them so I was still following and giving support but I didn’t see them constantly. I even did this with ppl I knew in real life. I am a mom and a few of my friends present their lives like a Pinterest board and it made me feel like a bad mom every time they popped up. A close friend of my sisters is a literal supermodel and has been in Australian Vogue and many major brand ad campaigns. She is so nice and has been looking for her person for a while. She RARELY gets approached, except for by really arrogant drunk guys, guys who seem to almost do it as a joke, or guys who end up being gay and not out about it yet (this happened 3 times to her)! When I tried to semi encourage a male friend to ask her out, he said “no way” because she was too “intimidating”. I asked him more about it and our discussion was very eye opening for me, and actually made me glad that I’m not super attractive in a funny way. I can’t remember where I heard this but the same message was conveyed in a documentary about P*rn producers who said that by FAR guys prefer watching stuff with women who are more ‘regular looking’ maybe because they can imagine themselves with the women more.. they tried making some videos with extremely beautiful women and those videos consistently got very low view counts. Just interesting things to think about in my opinion.. and offers some comfort for those of us who may see extremely stunning women and wish we looked just like them!
Birth control messed me up so bad. It really did take away my drive for over a year, but I just thought naturally I had low libido. Once I got off the pill, it came roaring right back and my sex life with my fiancé is better than ever

I feel like when it comes to porn its more of a sneaky kinda thing. Lime something the guy would do behind his gfs back or when shes not around. Its not really one of those things you watch with other people around and it just feels grimy. When youre in a relationship theres no point in watching it and i dont necessarily consider it cheating. For me its more about like why does he need to watch people have sex and why does he need to look at other women naked. I think thats something a lot of women arent comfortable with myself included. Janelle I wanted to chime in on your input about porn being a fantasy and possibly positive for a relationship - I’m really concerned about how porn portrays both sex and women to people. It’s a world where women never say no, sex is so casual that you sleep with your real estate agent or your step sister on the norm, and violence, racism, sexism is ‘hot’. And I don’t subscribe to ‘it’s a fantasy’ because people are 1)watching it often some even daily and 2) getting off to it via orgasm - the biggest level of dopamine experienced by the body. So these ‘fantasies’ are being turned into the expected and the norm, which is being proven by how teenagers are responding to what they expect in real life relationships and situations now, and also by rape culture and the degradation of women in America. Sex is such a powerful and intimate thing in the mind and body that people should be finding out and exploring their own sexuality and what they like with other people and their partner without this extreme and false porn culture. If couples are encouraged to watch it together they will get an idea of what their sexualities and intimacy should be like outside of their own which us natural and intimate to them. I love the podcast im just very passionate about the subject as an anti-porn feminist and thought id share! I appreciate y’all agreeing that it is a personal choice to be upset about a partner watching or not.
My sweet for the week: I finally got to hangout with my friend/roomie without having any awkward moments or being left alone drunk somewhere, she often would leave me at the most random time to go hangout with some guys but I would not be in my apartment so I’d have to always call someone or stumble my way back which is scary as fuck.
