@TheSansationalSans yep pretty much. To add to that, like cats, Owls spend the majority of the time sleeping and will often sleep in shifts(depending on species and whether they have chicks)

Crepuscular: Active between evening and morning (6pm - 5:50am)
The times are just an example of the time periods of activity.
Experience my family had with a great horned owl when I was a tween.
Fam has a farm, mom keeps and harvests both crops and livestock ( yes that means she does butchery ) and dad turns it into delicious foood. 80 chickens in the flock, until the local great horned subtracts six at sundown and left the bodies in the yard, having only eaten the heads.
Mom is mad as hell, but great horned is a protected species so she's not allowed to shoot it. Figure out protection for the chickens using a buncha garden poles and an old fishnet to rig up an anti air safe zone, figure its all done with.
A week later, the owl lands on the back poarch, hawks up a pellet, and flies off. There was a chicken skull in there. Owl seriously came back and was like "I think this is yours" barfed and jetted lmao

Idk if any other Asians thinks the same, but Cambodians as myself have elders saying if an Owl is above your house and coo-ing their way of chirping it means a bad omen toward a family member or someone is dying... as much as im in my 25s of age.
