@@MrMrWattz Dare I say it, their music and stage antics appeal to a younger and less discerning audience than his. I can't see many people who have enthusiastically been following what Four Tet does for the past two decades appreciating Skrillex. That's not to discount his talent (or Fred Agains).
Looks like it's the Yamaha Reface CS (Analogue Synth). The sound he makes from it kicks in around 29 seconds and then it looks like he fades it out around 32-33 seconds... kind of like a build up sound. I'm only guessing, but I reckon he has it oscalting constantly and just fades it in and out when he needs to add an extra element or add to a build up.
Thing is commercial dance music needed a bit of a push in the right direction… Industry plant or not, the kid does wonders to a crowd and plays really addictive and positive music. Hyped? Definitely.. Quality? I’d argue Yes.. gonna be milked till it runs dry? As fast as you can say consumer capitalism :)
