"This many Miles" I'm always surprised by Americans thinking anything with more than 10 thousand miles is garbage. 53k is like 4k miles per year, that's nothing. Plenty of life left.
broh I love your videos, motorcycles are my passion but in Argentina it is impossible to buy even cbr f2 , I would love to live doing what you do ... continue so , here is a subscriber and loyal fan
My last cbr1k had 101k miles with no problems just regular maintenance done to it. My mechanic bought it off me for his son. Told me it was better taken care of then most bikes with 10k miles
Honda states in the recall for the 08-09 CBRs , “only a small percentage of owners will experience this problem” . Personally , I am thinking that a batch/certain number of primary gears (the part that Honda is saying can cause the whining noise) were compromised in some way during the manufacturing process, resulting in them not being as durable/strong as they should be. If Honda knew that this was a part that would fail without a doubt, and that every 2008-09 CBR1000RR would need it replaced, they would have stated so in the letter sent to the owners . Honda was replacing the entire crankshaft under warranty due to the recall, but in reality it is ONLY the primary drive gear that is the issue. I can’t find an OEM primary drive gear for sale on its own, only the entire camshaft. My 08 cbr only has 8800 miles on it and it’s strong and sounds great, so I am not going to worry about replacing the primary drive gear for now. After some research I’ saw a guy on a forum who showed that the primary drive gear can be removed from the crankshaft and replaced, you do NOT need to replace the entire crankshaft. Only other issue in 08 was the bikes burning oil due to thin rings, so just check your oil level every couple of rides and you should be just fine. I do plan to eventually purchase all new pistons, rings , and the primary drive gear, and I’ll have Evan Steele Performance here in Tucson do the work, than have the bike tuned.
Mine has a short somewhere to it happens out of nowhere and the dash turns off tgem comes on. And then check engine comes on and my bike feels like it chokes. Then I turn it off and it runs fine
@@builtfromthebottom I’ve heard that before but coming from you I believe it! I’ve tried to find one as a parts bike and it’s like no one lets them go lol

@@builtfromthebottom I am keen on a 2009 CBR1000RR with 40k miles on it. After seeing your video I feel strongly motivated to buy that. Seller is wanting a bit too much for it.
Even a oem quick shifter will do if you want to go first to second without problems rekluse clutch is with auto blip I’m not sure if rekluse makes street bike clutches but it’s 2021 I’m sure you can buy anything also quick shifters will increase your lap time and cop your escape time
@@Lucas_ontwo except it isn't insane at all, that's literally 4 thousand miles per year since new, which is next to nothing. Modern bike engines that have been well maintained and not severely beaten every occasion will do car engine mileage. Read "well maintained".
@@DenvarShay I understand what you’re saying completely but the only thing is I’m the video he mentioned he had no prior record of how the bike was kept so 53k miles unrecorded should make you(as in anyone) skeptical! But with that being said you’re correct a well maintained engine can put out 100k miles with good care.
Okay don't kill me I know nothing about motorcycles but it 53,000 miles high for a motorcycle? Because I know 53,000 miles for car is wonderful as far as buying a used one goes
Yes but your car is not switching at 7000+ rpm either. More wear and tear on your motor. I was told 20k is a lot for a bike. And that is like it being used because like he said in the video if I got it new and had it for 50000 miles I at least know I took care of it and changed the oils properly compared to not knowing at all

As long as owner has been changing oil and plugs will last forever high mileage I would do a Dyno here and there
It was definitely maintained properly and prob only had one owner for most of those miles

my favorite 1000 bike and year. I see online lots of people talk about oil burn for that year.
Where did you source the clock surround? Great idea to make it look newer.
And just like that!! Bike brought, fixed, sold our boy Reece is top dog!! 😎

Nice work. Did you ever do a compression test on all the cylinders to compare?
@@christians131 nope. that was years ago, I was to broke lol
@@mannygixz3531 lol I probably wouldn’t have bothered too either personally. A little maintenance goes a long way with a Honda
Wow an 08 with that mileage is impressive. Does it eat oil? I don't hear crank whine so you lucked out there too

Nice man. I bet that guy is kicking himself in the ass over a shorted ground wire. Nice find
Did you ever find the leak, just curious
Where was the oil leak coming from? Or did you just selling to a sucker?
When you said electrical I was already saying wire harness and or rectifier and stator
Well he said he got it replaced so I was assuming when the rectifier went out it prob melted something
Hey man my 2008 cbr 1000rr rev meter doesnt work it does the sweep when i start it help plz

50000 is nothing for a Honda CBR.They last very long.I miss Florida.Maybe next year again🤟
No way! I’m in fort Myers too! lol
Whats your selling price ?
Im about to buy one with 40k miles on 🙏🏼 hopefully its worth it
An 08? I just bought one and the odometer just hit 9,000 miles yesterday
Thumbs up for Nikes on my feet playing
Bro you got to build a street fighter bike show the viewers and they can do everything on the cheap thanks
I think you're in a competition with Stefano Mesa for best hair.
done with the jeep videos?
No I have the next part filmed just need to edit it
Damn lucky you. You buy a bike with oil leaking and it magically disappeared?
Shouldn’t really use a aftermarket quickshifter between first and second or at lower rpms.
That would explain why it was so bad going from 1st to second
