Thanks all your videos.. I've been working on my speed and working through the patterns in your speed videos. Hope it's ok if I ask a question here as thinking your more likely to see my message. You showed in the first speed vid how you hold the pick. I've changed my pick holding to this after 8 years of playing but what are you doing when playing rhythm like strumming chords - are you changing your pick grip? Also, when holding the pick are you holding it with a tight grip or loose? Thanks again mate..
Glad to hear! Oh that’s a tough one. I don’t really think about it. I guess I used to when I was starting out but that was over 30 years ago 😎. Whatever feels good and gets the job done I guess. Maybe I need to think about it and do a video about it 🤔.
EV can you please suggest a good Tunomatic bridge? Also, is there a Tunomatic bridge where I can control the height of individual saddles? The bridge I have has sharp saddles and I want to change it. Thank you from the corrupt USA.
Nope. These are just the boxes / shapes that works as I showed them as long as the guitar is in standard tuning which could be standard E, Eb, D, Db etc. 👌
You’re welcome. And if you have more questions just ask ’cos when I started internet didn’t exist and it took a lot more time & effort to figure out things than nowadays 😎. My LESSONS - playlist has a bunch of videos so please chech them out too 😉.
I did? Probably by accident ’cos I played really slowly. But when I’m playing fast I alternate pick and sometimes start with downstroke, sometimes with upstroke, sometimes with economy picking and occasionally even sweep picking; whatever comes naturally and gets the job done and feels the most natural / easy.
@@EugeValovirta230V I get it. Like you said, whatever feels most comfortable or natural. It’s weird that no one else picked that up. Thanks for your response. Love your videos!
I’m not sure if I understand what you mean. The boxes are the boxes and for example on the A minor’s first box the root note A is on the 5th fret of low E string, 7th fret of D string and 5th fret of high E string. And in many other places across the neck. The shape of the boxes stays the same no matter the key.
Those box patterns can be moved around depending on what key you want to play in. Remember that the notes along the fretboard from open to the twelfth fret make one octave. So for instance, if you want to play the G pentatonic minor, that first box pattern that he showed would start with the root note on the third fret of the low E string. All the box patterns would be shifted down one whole step (2 half steps) down for this key. Make sense?
@@EugeValovirta230V I know this isn't music but are you cashing on the markets. A run on silver now. Its nuts. Ready for the run on pot stocks now. I own huge positions in both. Gotta love the wallstreet bets reddit forum
I love that you're playing that Phoenix a lot lately. I really love that guitar's look and specs. Is there significant neck dive? The only thing I don't like is the gloss finish on the back of the neck. ESP could have easily made it satin like other guitar manufacturers are doing. I might also consider switching the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Dominion (if you haven't tried it, you should. To me it sounds better than any active pickup). The Custom is cool though, but can be a bit bright/brittle. That Phat Cat is amazing though. It's either this or a Charvel tele-style. Thank you for going through this. It is something I definitely need to practice. It would have been nice to have the tab flipped 180 degrees so it would have matched your neck/fretboard. It was kind of confusing at first until I realized the tab was flipped. Thanks! I do enjoy your channel.

Like you re videos

Why down down at the bigining ?
does the scale change when i tune down the guitar to D Standard? ( sorry for the question....iam a totaly beginner )

I was wondering why you down pick the first 2 notes, then alt pick the rest starting with an up stroke?

And what if your root note doesn't start on the top (low E) string?

I’ve sanded the neck myself 👍😊.
I’m happy with the pickups but thanks for the tip anyway 🙏.
Euge tell them they need to play songs too. Playing scales is great but it comes together playing songs.
Yeah sure but I made this video if someone wants to learn the minor pentatonic scale 😊👍.
