From June 15 to July 24, the Yankees went 10-22, scoring 4.375 runs per game, just below average. In their other 80 games they've scored 5.39 runs per game, lead the ML in runs scored, and are still tied for first place and the third best record in the ML.

The New York Yankees face a significant challenge with their bullpen, particularly with the closing role. The closer's job is to seal victories and maintain leads, and when this role is compromised, it affects the entire team. Recently, Yankees' starting pitchers have given their all to secure leads, only to see their efforts squandered by an unreliable closer, impacting their morale and performance. Frequent blown saves are demoralizing and have shaken the team's confidence, disrupting their momentum and making it difficult to build winning streaks crucial for playoff contention.
Clay Holmes has shown flashes of brilliance but is not a reliable high-stakes closer. His inability to close games consistently is hurting the team. In the playoffs, every game is crucial, and the margin for error is minimal. The Yankees need a proven, reliable closer who can handle high-pressure situations and deliver consistently to stabilize the bullpen and restore team confidence.
Additionally, holding onto LeMahieu and Torres past their prime has been detrimental to the team's performance. To have a shot at the playoffs, it is imperative that Cashman addresses these issues quickly. Acquiring a dependable closer, bolstering the starting rotation and middle relief, and making tough decisions regarding underperforming veterans are necessary steps.

It really doesn't LOOK like they are built for the big games. On paper that team looks vicious. But then you look over at Baltimore and see how consistent everyone on the Orioles is and it just seems like the Yankees are trying their strategy of "just throw money at it until it works" again. Meanwhile the Orioles still have the best farm system in the league, a roster loaded from top to bottom with talent that they've managed to turn into results. The Orioles only real problem area has been their pitchers and that's not surprising to anyone who's read word one about them. Yet this year, despite over half of their regular starters going down with injury, or still being out from previous injuries, they still managed to have a better record at the break by beating the Yankees the day before the break. Corbin Burnes has been a monster as advertised. And with the other guys all getting closer and closer to getting back into health this team is likely going to start their peak playing right as the playoffs start and will be a problem for everyone. The Yankees though seem like they could crumble before they get that far. I still think they'll finish 2nd in the AL, as that much talent shouldn't ever finish lower in any division.

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again. Same team as last year except for Soto.
Yankees keep signing pitchers who shine in big ballparks thinking they will shine in the AL East with band box stadiums. Insanity.

LOL! Yep. Yankees Stadium is a difficult stadium to develop pitchers in...

They’re well over .500, have the same wins as the Dodgers, and a couple off the most wins in mlb.
Yankees fans are wild. Teams have flaws and losing streaks.

The problem is their division. Baltimore is looking like a powerhouse for the foreseeable future. Their stacked farm system is going to carry them for a few years. If new ownership can find a way to make good smart trades, it’s going to be hard to get past them

I called it about two months ago. I knew Baltimores pace was more stable than the yanks. Placed a nice little wager on them to win the East.

Nothing is organic in MLB anymore. A few teams have that feel but the Yanks are the furthest from being organic. They'll never work.

@@WheresMyInhaler Yep, I'd say them and the O's have that organic feel being great teams. The ones they hype up like the Yanks are the farthest from organic. Dodgers are the most non organic out of them all. They make me wanna puke with all their additives and preserveatives lol

There's a foolish baseball video about Sammy Sosa that's pretty good. This whole most home runs by a player not taking steroids is a little presumptuous. Also Volpe hit streak 1 away from franchise record... Joe Demaggio lol The rest is good just might want to double check your notes.
