I loved Elizabeth's flashbacks to Lucky and I really liked crying my eyes out when they played the Backstreet Boys "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely". It just really grabs me by the heart.
Lucky had every right to be upset and bitter during his conversation with Luke and Laura here. He wasted away for a year in a room being brainwashed and held prisoner. Jacob brought the fire to that scene!!!!!
You do know they didnt know he was alive right till later and as soon as they found out they went looking. Its not like they just thought he walked away. There was a body in the fire and they was all told it was Lucky.
I can't believe this show it's turned into total BS...quick. What's with these writers, they can sure ruin a great thing. I'm only watching this out of sheer curiosity.
Man it just completely sucks how amazing GH knocked it out of park when Lucky "died" in the fire and we don't get to see the return with Jonathan Jackson in the role. You can't help but feel cheated - some characters are too pivotal to be re-cast. Both Jonathan Jackson and Kimberly McCullough grew up on the show so seeing anyone else just feels wrong lol. Jacob Young ends up being great as JR on AMC but it just doesn't work with him as Lucky - I believe the hype was so high just to see the character return that it helped spur the popularity of the storyline and therefore won JY that Emmy. It's not even that he plays it bad it's just - off. And the different Nikolas makes it feel even stranger- then when Tyler Christopher comes back we end up having a different Emily lol - GH post 2000 is almost like an entirely different soap then the one it was - the show from 1963-1999 had this fluidity that made sense, with a real sense of family and community that stayed somewhat constant and then it becomes the 2000s with the Sonny, Jason and Carly circus where everyone else takes a HUGE backseat. Okay rant over I'm done lol
That’s because 1963-99/2000 was before Jill Farren Phelps became the executive producer of GH in early 2001. IMO the Sonny/Carly/Jason show wasn’t fully in effect until around the time Guza returned in 2002. At least in 2001, we had Endgame, Nikolas and Gia, Luke and Laura, Skye, Courtney, OG Kristina, and the Qs to distract from the Carson circus, but you do make very valid points and I can definitely see why you (and many others) believe the show tanked after 2000.
@@isaiahhill2104 Yeah I mean I still watched GH up until 2010ish but it started to feel way to alien to the history of the show. So many characters who have a history that isn't represented or forcing characters together who would never interact - it's like someone doing a reboot of a show and just using characters names from the previous one lol. I do agree that there was a fuller spectrum of stories between 2000-2002 but when I re-watch them now I can already see the groundwork being laid for the next decade which is....a shame to say the absolute least. That's why I'm elated I can watch old GH on here and remember what made it so spectacular ;)
@@katec8796 That’s true. As that era went on, more and more problems popped up. I thought 2000 was good. 2001 had many problems (particularly in the latter half of the year), but was still more good than bad. 2002 did have its good moments, but it was mostly a miss for me (especially around the time Guza came back). 2003-11 definitely flopped. 2012 was the best year since 2000/2001 IMO. 2013-15 was good but not quite as good. It hasn’t been nearly as good since Ron left, but today’s GH is mostly just ok and inoffensive.
No, it's OK to rant. I know what you mean. I remember this a little when Lucky returned from the dead and was stunned and disappointed they got someone else besides Jonathan Jackson. Like you said, it's not the same without him.
@@katec8796 Right. They forced characters who didn't like each other and would have NEVER interacted, like putting Sonny with Carly (when they first met , Sonny did NOT like Carly) and later putting Jax with Carly (same, when they first met, Jax did NOT like Cary). Very strange and a BAD idea to do that with characters. It messes up the shows history. You had to be consistent when you work with different characters, otherwise you might turn long-time fans off.
yeah, they really, really aged Lulu rather quickly. I think at this point (circa-2000) she's like five years old. But so adorable. I loved this little girl who played dark-haired Lulu!
She wasn't Jason's girl, they found out Lucky was alive and he was her first love. but they ruined Lucky, and Elizabeth didn't deserve the crap he put her through.
Laura had red pants and a blue sweater.. that's so trippy. It's like they're set up to be like Luke and Laura with twist but very similar..Lucky sarcastic.. she's a beautiful flower with a sassy streak ..😁
THEY SHOULD OF PUT LIZ AND NICKLESS TOGETHER AND NOT LUCKY. FATHER LIKE SON LUCK AND LUCY. ARE THE SAM LUCKY WAS ALLWAYS HURTTING LIZ THEN AND NOW DIDNT WANT LIZ TO HAVE. ANY ONE IN HER LIFE. LIKE I SAID ITS JUST TV .
This is ridiculous keep the show going by having Lucky keep running away/hiding like a little kid. It's getting boring going to starting to get really boring.
JY wasn’t a bad actor, just a bad Lucky. He was excellent as Rick Forrester and AJ on AMC. Both him and the writers clearly struggled with how to make Lucky work after his return. Really so, so much about the character was driven by JJ playing him. I don’t think the writers really know how to handle Lucky at all when he’s not in the role.

Not Jonathan Jackson nobody played the part better they ruined Liz and lucky in the end
Yup
Lucky predicted the woman hes attracted to, perfectly
Wow Backstreet Boys playing in the background...this was TWENTY years ago 😩😩
This Lucky was way to beautiful for his own good. The rest of the cast was dim by comparison!
I love how they use a new character for an old memory....
Gee
Those scenes were terrible when compared to the original.
Come through backstreet boys! Budget

@@carriesobek1591 Well aware of the story. My favorite ever on GH
I miss the other Lucky.
Unbelievable. 38 parts and the first time they see each other after they thought he was dead, and the poster doesn't even include it. Disappointing.

Cool use of a Backstreet Boys song!!!
I am confused...did i miss the scene when lizabeth and lucky talked??
She explained there were glitches in her VHS tape, so some parts weren't shown
I can’t believe Mac ever took her back

I remember driving back thru New Jersey and ran into Jacob Young (Lucky) at a rest stop haha. I always seem to run into the soap actors around NYC.
I'm so jealous
Lucky was on fire here!!! Jacob Young played the character perfectly.
Totally lol at Liz and Em bashing Carly... then I remember what Liz gets up to in a few years. smh
Carly deserved the bashing. lol Still does. :)

Bad rehash of Lucky's issues with L&L with an equally bad actor who looked like neither one if them.
Jacob Young was awesome as Lucky! I wish GH would bring him back. He even won a daytime award for his portrayal of Lucky.
