New to Kafka and streaming. I've spent at least past 2 hours looking through explanations of Kafka, and this video finally made it click for me. Thanks
For those interested in the Udemy course, this specific lecture corresponds to Feeding Data to your Cluster Kafka explained There are only three total lectures on Kafka in that Udemy course
This is the best Kafka architecture info i have ever found on the internet. Thank you so much.I have a query, Are the connectors or producers configured in the client system?Ex If the producer or Kafka Connector has to receive sensor data, where do these apps or programs/plugins reside so that they pull the sensor data as and when the data is available. Thanks in advance for your response
All the different components just communicate over some IP port, so they can reside anywhere on the same network. The whole idea is to distribute this processing as much as possible.
It can be an app installed on your phone which is getting top clicks of each user (that app is publisher in this case) and sending this data to kafka into some top which will be published to all consumers (can be another application or some service like Spark ) who are connected to that same topic.
Great introduction, although I wish that your Kafka architecture diagram was clearer. Are the apps running on the Kafka cluster or a separate server? It finally became clear to me but just a suggestion. Thank you.
This is one lecture of my larger "Ultimate Hands-On Hadoop" course on Udemy. You can find the whole thing at the link in the description if you're interested!
This is an excellent introduction to Kafka for someone with systems admin experience, but much less big data exposure.

Thank you. This is so... kafkaesque.
Does anyone else find it a hilarious coincidence that Frank has the best explanation out there on Kafka? #FranzKafka

Thanks Frank, I really enjoy your style of explaining technical things.

I feel like Franz Kafka transformed into Frank Kane, as if in some kind of metamorphosis.
