    Regarding that military wife segment: OP didn't mention it, but there might have been a bit of "my husband outranks yours, so I pwn you" entitlement at work.

    • @Arcane_Route_66

      If OP had reported on that, the pregnant wife could have gotten her husband in serious trouble.

      @@Arcane_Route_66 yep. Friend of mine is an AF E8 (yes he flies a desk) and his wife is rather nonconfrontational so several spouses have felt it possible to pull their husbands rank on her to make her do stuff. That usually happens once or twice at any station and then they realize that while she is willing to do something at the time- she will report their BS which usually results in their spouse coming home and chewing them out because they got disciplined for the stupidity.

      @@FirstIsa Now imagine the influential E8's wife is CB. That makes Op's husband E5 at best, CB is ten years older than her and everybody loves her husband...even if she is CB.

    This is like the 3rd or 4th time I've heard this CB Military wife story. It's STILL mind boggling that they didn't call police/MPs the amount of times she literally BROKE INTO THEIR HOME. Not only that but she's literally stealing from them.

    • @shannonp1656
      @shannonp1656 2 года назад +9

      Agreed. I had to deal with a wife whose husband's rank was equal to mine - not my husband's rank, my rank. She still tried to pull rank on me. I did report her to base police. They didn't do much, but things slightly improved. If I had really wanted to push back and report what she did when he was TDY they may have been kicked out of base housing.

    • @bob0s062

      WWKD? I talked to the ladies on base. I usually don't take to gossip and won't spread it. I found out if you have an issue with one military wife ask around about her. Sooner or later her husband's boss will hear about it and that behavior stops.

      If her husband was an MP and 3 ranks higher, take a guess how far that call would go...

    Military housing story: OP, you messed up! Partly this women was trading on her husband's rank being higher than your husband's (and likely most of the nearby neighbors). This is a big NO NO and can cause huge problems for Karen's husband. You should have reported her trespassing to the base military police. Unless other neighbors have also done this a first time report would likely have only gotten the husband a verbal warning to control his wife. Continued reports would have caused them to lose on-base housing privileges. And it is a privilege, not a right.

    Last story sounds a bit iffy. Years ago I worked at an equipment rental place and when a unit came back to us it was immediately cleaned, checked for damage and serviced. The whole point of this is that the unit should be turned over and ready for rental within the shortest time possible. There is no way in hell we'd take a unit back and just park it somewhere and start maintenance only when a customer asked for it. If there was, for example, a hydraulic motor with a leak we'd be all over it - time to order parts + replacement can add up to a couple of days. If we pulled nonsense like delaying maintenance the boss would have kicked us out and into low earth orbit.

    • @HappilyHomicidalHooligan
      @HappilyHomicidalHooligan 2 года назад +1

      I suspect that's what OP meant when he said FE Green Tagged lots of equipment...The Green Tag likely showed that the equipment had been checked, Serviced and Repaired and was ready for redeployment and FE knew it wasn't ready for use...I suspect FE quit before he could be fired and that was his way of getting revenge...

    • @fraidykat

      @@HappilyHomicidalHooligan You mean FE didn't like FL's advances? What ever would give you THAT impression? Aha!!!

    • @fraidykat

      I'm in a similar large organization that takes equipment in and fields it as necessary. Equipment that comes in after use goes to the inspection line. It may be good, it may need service, it may need repair but there's no telling what.
      Op was down 6 FEs and one FE with an qxe to grind against the conpany went on a field day applying green tags. All it took was one of those three pieces of equipment to be broken or unserviceable (for example, water in a hydraulic reservior for an external hydraulic test stand) to cause serious damage to customer's equipment, or delay operations.
      If they had 6 people quit, then the broken equipment would have been piling up on top of the Inspection Due equipmemt. It's an easily understood position.

    Hey Redwheel!!! So, what can be worse than an annoying neighbor? An annoying neighbor with kids on a sugar rush ...... Um, maybe I should skip this one, since it was me that gave her four kids two large packs each, of Fun Dip. Pure sugar. ;)

      Oh, forgot my coffee, so forgot my story lol. This past July 4th, my neighbor kept walking onto my property, and helping themselves to the food I had set up at my garage entrance for my family, while we set fireworks off. Kept walking over with her kids and clearing out my Freetos and rice cakes. Uninvited too, but I was being nice. It's when she said her kids were bored like it was my job to entertain them that I forgot I had a big commercial box of fun dip Amazon accidentally shipped me instead of the gum ball refills I waited weeks for, and said I could keep them. I gave each of her four kids, two large fun dip packs each. About twenty minutes lator, It was when I realized it was time to take a break and brought my own kids in, and quickly closed my garage, locking it, then ate dinner, which was Chinese. Think it was about when we were half way through eating, that I could hear the mother screaming. Guess she and her kids aren't bored any more ;)
