Humans are not herd animals by nature. we are group animals, we tend to our clan, not the intirety of the herd. yet we can be swayed as a herd in form of sociatal/peer preassure.
I am consistently confused as to why within IR theory there is such an emphasis on how our social environment influences our behavior, yet there is absolutely no acknowledgment of how our biological framework impacts our decision making and behavior, with it being just as intruding to the actor's behavior as say the cultural environment. Why is this the case?
Human biology doesn’t vary enough from nation to nation such that it would be a valuable lens of analysis, if I had to guess. It would be like analyzing IR Wrt the impact of gravity.
Does it not mean to call it the "social construction" of reality to ignore that it should maybe be called "political construction" in the sence that ignores the politics of reality? (See Zehfuss)
They are full of content and good, but your constant sighing makes it hard to listen too. It is also a shame the audio quality is so low. It would be nicer if you could be more emotive, but still extremely comprehensive and have been helpful to me and many others I am sure. Thank you.
