So happy he didn't debut in treasure tho while they're "popular" (with a poor reputation) they probably wouldn't have gave jongseob as much creative freedom as he does now with his current company.
@@ebwon I love Treasure too but I think their rap line needs more chances to shine and show off their skills, so far Treasure songs haven’t had that many amazing raps and doesn’t give off the OG YG swag in my opinion, maybe they just have too many members so it’s hard to focus on that so they hv stuck to a more boy group sound - I‘m intrigued by their upcoming REBOOT announced recently tho. But yeh, Jongseob and Intak get so much creative freedom to do their stuff in P1H which is so great and it’s actually quite rare in kpop so I’m really happy for them!
@@210-ws9kk exactly... I'm not a treasure fan but I've seen the show I just don't think jongseob would've thrived in yg as most of their artists these days don't. Almost all of their idols that produce and write lyrics have left the company, I'm excited for the direction jongseob is heading in, after leaving the show jongseob said he got into a really big slump he couldn't write anymore and didn't want nothing to do with music, he can't even watch surival shows without remembering the stuff they put him through especially since he was so young at the time. We're happy he found a place in p1harmony, they're very supportive of him n take care of him well despite all the teasing they give him 😅
YG realize Jongseob talents in rapping but he do not have trainee that can be a team up/group that suitable for Jongseob. That's why in YGTB, he is smiling (fatherly ) everytime watching Jongseob. Anyway, I'm happy Jongseob debut under FNC and with P1HARMONY. P1HARMONY's member admire Jongseob before they meet. That's good sign. Meanwhile, YGTB trainees look a bit awkward when Jongseob around. Except the one debut in Wei.
@@flaxenRdn yeh he didn’t have a group that matched with his style in that show I feel like, but regardless, he is in a much better place now with lots of musical freedom and doing great!
Not only all this -which I have no expertise in- but I feel that his stage presence is top tier too. The way he expresses and positions himself is also at the level of someone with years of experience. Is it his age that is placing him as under appreciated? Or is it a combination of various factors? Because no lie, I was seeing all this talent of his during P1H’s promotions @ debut. That was 4 years ago now! Wild.
I know nothing about music theory so this was a really interesting watch. I just know the heartbeat drum rap part is amazing but I didn't know WHY it's amazing til this video XD thank you
Thank you for your service to humanity, sir! ✨ I LOVE Jongseob’s rap verses but I don’t have the right words to explain how impressive he is as an artist. Thanks for making this case on the internet. I will spread the agenda Haha I’m curious, which rap of his is your favorite out of all the P1H tracks? 😁
When EPEX debuted you made a video about them. Can you make a new one showing if they exceeded your expectations? Or basically about their rap now that they have more songs.
I think I understand why many said he’s what people said bout him. I think he still needs to find his ‘color,’ his ‘trademark.’ If you review your top tier line again, you’ll see it’s not only bout their talents in rapping techniques, but ppl can also recognize them immediately when hearing ‘em. They has their own ‘signature’ rap style. Even GD-he’s not there on the top coz his lack of releases these days, you said-ppl will still say he’s God-tier coz he IS GD. You know it’s him when he’s rapping. He owns his brand. Like to me, Jongseob kinda sounds like Mark. If I listen to their songs blindly, I wouldn’t be able to differ them. This is like case of Jisung in their early eras. Tbh I disagreed when you put him on top tier that time, coz though his flow is crazy, he still sounded lil like Suga. But not long, I see his fast development and ‘gimmicks’ he uniquely created that made him ‘that’s it, that’s J.One!’ when i heard him, then I admitted he IS a top tier. Well, this is just my observation. I just assume MAYBE that’s why he’s not stand out to people yet. If your measurements on lining them is mainly techniques, then be it. It’s your list anyway, bro. lol n peace. For this Heartbeat Drum case tho, I agree he ate here!
Really? I can't really hear that at all ... Jongseob's delivery and "unique flavor" is definitely something no one else is doing in KPop, at least to my ear. I usually do place that "Generic idol delivery" on Mark's style, but I don't think I've ever heard Jongseob rap like that~
@@carkpop Yep. that are technical aspects you're talking bout. And since you're expertise in rap field, you get it right away. But not with people. They can only catch the 'general feeling' of each rapper. For example: RM, Bobby, and Changbin they're all aggressive ones, but each has own characteristics. RM is angrily, monsterly aggressive--like his stage name; Bobby with his wild, gritty, mad mad mad aggressive; and Changbin is another story, he's sharply, rapidly but still composed aggressive--like a gun machine if i may say. Yes, their rap of course still bout flow and delivery, but there's this 'feeling' that we can use to differ 'em. Ah, maybe I can give another example: Hyunjin. Tho he's not 'technically' top tier, we can still hear his style is 'flowy and flirty' like his dancing. Now, if you can define/depict this 'unique flavor' of Jongseob, what is it?
I’d define Jongseob’s “unique style” and spacious and punctual. He’s really good at playing with space in rap, and creating pauses by over-enunciating and using odd rhythm. It really reminds me of how Layone raps, but with less tonal inflections. Does that explain it well?~

i wish he would know that he's considered at the same level as bobby zico and others top tier rappers...
