Dark Souls Shield Bash Glitch (off-hand secondary moves)

A glitch you can pull off to do secondary moves with your off-hand. It seems from software coded in this feature, but for whatever reason decided not to implement it into the game. You can still pull of the moves though. Interesting stuff. Short sword even has a parry animation, something it normally can't do.
I tried doing the glitch with the BKS but that didn't work, so not every weapon can pull it off. A katana and a rapier can.
What matters is that you must get your character to re-equip his shield (stop 2-handing) without exiting the menu.
What's more interesting is that since the command exists in the game code, perhaps we can mod the functionality back into the game. A custom hotkey for shield-bashing with any shield, or humanity draining with the off-hand.

If anything at all is is the same thing, a sheild bash i haven't used what looks to be the balder shield in a while but it looks like the standerd heavy hit animation to me. i'm not saying that this isn't a unique animation to this glitch but im pretty sure that the shield bash is the same with practically any shield and can actually be used within a normal dark souls playthrough.

You can just switch which hand your sword/sheild are in to do this.

1) It's not the same move. Try comparing main-hand vs this move and you'll see.
2) It's a glitch, little more. You can't really use this for anything other than your own amusement unless someone manages to mod it in.

Sadly does not work with the darksword so I can't be a real darkwraith

probably because you can do a kick instead ?

It is still in. Try with a rapier or katana in the main hand. Your main hand weapon seems affect it. As I said in the description, I couldn't trigger it with a black knight sword in the main hand.

Nice! Found this myself but didnt know you could just tap the button afterwards, I always just held the block button and then he does it ASAP

I just saw this like I mean I saw it multiple times but I always thought I imagine it but today I saw it clearly doing it by luck by switching weapons and exiting my inventory... odd animation and it was clearly meant to be in game but never fully implemented. Is really cool I wonder why they never implemented it properly....

Given that the animations are there under the surface and that all the shields have stats for attacking, it feels like there's this entire part of the game that's all there, just inaccessible, just barely out of reach... Feels frustrating man...

@@integ3r yeah although on the same token I can see how would be OP it would probably work similar to the push kick u have with some swords but better if it does dmg on top of that. Its odd and sad cos looking back they also had some cool ideas with shields on dark souls 3 like that one shield animation used for block dmg from above, and to think they haven't used any of those even with elden ring, wasted potential.... hopefully for their next game 10 years from now lol.
