Jupiter spins SUPER fast!

Hey folks,
last live-session we looked at #planet #Jupiter through my
Skywatcher Explorer 150/750 Newton #telescope . It was a
lot of fun and I thought it would be cool to share the final

Thanks for the video. What rotation do we see here? Of the atmosphere? Does the inner ‘core’ also spin as fast as the outher (atmosphere) core?

Thanks!! We are seeing the rotation of the outer atmosphere layers. All parts of Jupiter's "layers" are rotating and as I understand this the rotational differences between the layers - most importantly the core - result in the unimaginably strong magnetic fields of Jupiter.
