Question please, the roland gr55 device does not recognize the usp, what is the problem?
Thanks from me also.
I've only created about 6-7 unique patches out of those that were on the list, the rest of them came from the Roland Artist patches and those other free patches from Roland's website. I don't have any of them posted on VGuitar forums but I suppose that would be a good idea. Thanks for watching.
Thamk you for sharing this helpful video. Any chance can you make video how to use bank and edit patch
hello,
I just purchase a new laptop with windows 10 on. I can download the librarian and upzip everything like you are suppose to and do the setup in my gr 55 in librarian . Then read all files. Download a patch from artist page on Roland website then unzip and save to desktop or documents . Hit open file in librarian open artist click on patch I want and the librarian stops working and closes. I have tried to make this compatible with the compatible setting and nothing works. I have disabled all antivirus programs and did all my window updates. And still stops working as soon as I click on a patch to copy. Can you help?
Thanks
Are there only a certain amount of Patches ? I don’t want to overwrite any I have already loaded,
Thanks, very helpful.
At the end of the video when you said, "I hope this helped", I almost started crying. I would have NEVER figured this out. I've been spending hours of time. Thank you so much CoffeeDrinker. I think I love you. :) All of the important steps were there and the visuals made it that much better. Rock on, my friend.
Thanks a lot, gonna try this and hope I can perform with my gr55 soon. Bought it years ago but it was difficult to tweak the settings
Yeah I sold mine many years ago. Wish I still had it though.
hey...the librarian is not installing in my windows
I'm also having the same problem. Took my new computer to work with (Windows 10) and let our Techies play with it for several hours with no luck. Then put in a call to Roland, and they called back 3 days later. Still could not get it to work. The guy from Roland said he was using Windows 10 and it worked on his computer. I gave up on Windows 10 and installed the librarian on an older computer. Roland needs to hear from more people that is doesn't work and they need to fix it on their end.
Just watched this and it helped me through getting the patches installed. It was really easy and so well explained. Thanks a million.
I'm glad it helped!
Hi! Is there anybody out there facing problems with GR 55 installation on a Win XP Service Pack 2 pc? I'm trying to install the driver for Roland GR 55 on my computer, but it shows "unknow device". Already tried to reinstall the driver, change de usb plug, but nothing worked up to now. Thanks for your help!
Superb, really helpful, thanks. I've been dreading my patches getting wiped for years, and it's been so laborious to move them around within the GR-55.
What an awesome tutorial thank you! My relationship with my GR-55 is mixed. I’ve learned and forgotten several😂 times since I got it. I’m digging it again. This is tedious file management work which was somewhere in my memory gray zone. You made it so very clear and detailed. Outstanding.
really good video. Roland USB flash memory M-UF2G to back up files before upgrading to 1.5. Why is it so expensive? What makes it unique?
Thanks. There I so much in the unit already that I haven't tinkered with anything online. But I have been thinking about it. I'd like a great sitar and maybe a cello and a mandocello sound. Perhaps an octave mandolin sound.
I think I know what you are referring too. You want to run the magnetic pickup signal at the same time as the synth signal? You will have to run a separate 1/4" line from the GK-3 to a different amp, then put the GK-3 on "blend".
THANK YOU! This is awesome! I've been looking forward to this vid from someone. Thank you so much for posting. It is very well done & informative. I'll be using my librarian tonight thanks to this vid. I have the driver & librarian installed but got only that far.
HI. I have followed your tutorial to the point of adding some more patches, but cannot as there are no spare slots. I have noticed that every patch seems to be duplicated three times but at different locations. This is a new GR-55 purchased from Amazon last week. Please help?
Hi, here is giving an error in the Windows 7 software of type "unable to read / write data ... refer 7" I already uninstalled everything with CCleaner and reinstalled, until the USB cable I changed, but it did not work. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks
awesome job!..you have alot of interesting patch names in your default library...are you on Vguitarforums, or would you share your library? I'm about 90 days into using this and have spent hours per day at it, have learned alot. Thanks in advance!
Thanks. First good explaining for how to copy patches to main windows in Librarian. I'm then using Boss GT-100.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I was surprised at the lack of help and info when it comes to using the Librarian. I hope this video helps out!
CoffeDrinker71=lifesaver. Carol Ann had it right. I had downloaded and installed everything but the one thing that wouldnt open was the help part of the software. You rock and thanks for the help!!!
By the way....any recommendations for some good patches out there?
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad it relieved some stress for you. I also spent hours trying to figure this out when I first attempted it only to find NO videos to help. I just wanted to give back to the Roland community and help out fellow players like you! Yes, rock on my friend!!! :)
I have the same problem. Try on two different computer with Windows 10 and it doesn't work.
Great tutorial , just have one question though would you happen to know how to get the stock pick ups to work with the roland gk3 pick up? for some reason mine will not work in sync to it,
hi, librarian is not detecting my GR55, i downloaded the Mac driver and updated my unit as well with latest firmware but for some reason my computer is not seeing it, any help would be appreciated :)
Hello sir. do you have a video explaining to newbies like me on how to basic edit/save a patch using the Floorboard editor? cos im a not-so-techy person and im confused on how to operate it. thanks in adv.
Thankyou for this. I've downloaded that the latest drivers and update and linked it all with librarian, but it's showing that I don't have any space as it's taken up with all presets. Do I have to delete them all?
Thank You , I'm just getting going and as you may remember this kind of assistance is definitely priceless. Cheers David
where else can i download the gr-55 driver? i'm unable to download it from roland website...
Great info! Exactly answered my questions.
Could you recommend some kind of monitor? Is it Yamaha HS8 a good choice? Thanks.
its a very helpful video boss...thanks a lot from bangladesh...\\m//\\m//
Great tutorial… I think that you have found your 'niche'… Might you make any more assists and explanations for the GR-55 community? And THANKS!!
Karl J. Shaw Thank you for the highest compliment! I actually sold my GR-55 about a year ago so I no longer have the ability to make any more videos related to the GR-55. It was a great pedal board unit, I just had no more use for it. Best wishes.
Thanks for commenting! I'm glad this was helpful! Cheers.
Hello friend, thanks for your excellent video! Can you tell me if its possible divide the stereo output in GR? I would like to send the guitar just to the L side to my AMP and the GR player to the R side to my P.A. Thanks.
lucianowisni I don't think it can be split from within the 2 stereo outputs on the back. However, you can separate the guitar signal through it's own output (to a separate amp) and the synth sounds can come out of the stereo outputs simultaneously.
One more question! Do you think for the best quality sound of GR is via Guitar AMP or PA? I use a Marshall Amp and think that the sound of GR is a little dirty. Thanks.
lucianowisni Hello, I would HIGHLY recommend using the GR-55 through a separate PA or clean signaled monitor. Your Marshal is specifically voiced for guitar so I don't think you'll recognize the full clarity of sound of the GR-55 until it's hooked up to a set of monitors or PA system...or mixed separately.
thank you so much mate!! could you upload all your patches as a pack??...i saw so many interesting things!! Much appreciated ;) ;)
Sorry! I sold this unit a few years ago. I don't think I have the patches anymore. :( ...but they were just the ones I downloaded for free on the Boss website.
outstanding. thanks so much. this is what i needed
man, just thank you, this video saved me lol
Good job sir. Also if you didn't mention that the usb cable is often used for printers, I would've ran to the store looking for one of those! Thanks Brother!
I'm glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
