    yet another very complimentary review of these guitars. I haven't found a review yet that can find anything negative to say about these guitars. after dozens of glowing reviews I finally decided to go for it. I ordered the "hot merlot" P90 model. yamaha stuff in general is all top shelf !!!

      Nice man, I'm really loving mine! Ooh the hot merlot ones look so good too! I was using the sunset burst for this video, and I own the swift blue P90 Standard, which has such a cool, vintage look! Sounds awesome too, but you already know that from yours!

    Nicely done Dan! I’ve watched pretty much every video out on this guitar - I have the blue one on order, just waiting for it to be fulfilled and shipped. Nice video - great comparisons across the different switch positions. Keep it up!
    Just FYI, the P90 version is the RSS02T. 🤘

    Hi Dan, what string gauge are you using in this video? I plan on using mine for jazz pretty exclusively. Thanks for the great demo and review!

    • @HartigMusic
      @HartigMusic  Год назад +1

      Hey Ian, I use 10 gauge on my Revstar. Are you thinking of using 11s? Not sure how it would handle 12s

    • @godofsporks
      @godofsporks Год назад

      @@HartigMusic I was thinking about 11’s or 12’s. I heard loosening the bridge screws helps with higher gauge?
      I appreciate your insights.

    • @HartigMusic
      @HartigMusic  Год назад +1

      @@godofsporks yes that would help! I think if you don’t normally do your own set ups and adjustments, you may want to get a set up and tell them you’ll be adding on 12s. I don’t think you’d need the professional set up for the 11s though

    • @godofsporks
      @godofsporks Год назад

      I’ve been doing my own for awhile now, but you’re right it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get it done professionally for the initial adjustment. Thanks again! Really love the tone you get out of this guitar.

    How are the p90s for 60 cycle hum? P90s are generally v noisy but I’ve heard the Revstar are quieter than usual. Also, consider using the focus switch for jazz tones (John Cordy highly recommends it for that).

    • @HartigMusic
      @HartigMusic  Год назад +2

      Hey, sorry for the delayed reply! Yeah I was actually surprised that it wasn't that noisy with the P90s on my revstar. It's definitely not as noisy as my strat.

    • @HartigMusic
      @HartigMusic  Год назад +1

      Also, yes, it's been great for jazz tones with the focus switch!

    Are those p90s noisy? Specifically in the cleans?

    • @HartigMusic
      @HartigMusic  Год назад

      I don't really find them noisy. It definitely won't be as quiet as noiseless pickups though. The Revstar is not as noisy as my fender strat if that helps...
