  • Are You Kidding Me?
    As Paul opens his letter to the Galatians, it is evident that he is fired up, even angry. Something terrible is happening to people he loves dearly and has led to Christ, and he hits the issue head-on. Along the way, he reminds them that Christ, by His death, launched a new Exodus for the whole world and it is utter foolishness to turn back.

    I love how Paul who had the law and all the knowledge from the law of Moses had to go back to Sinai in order to get centered in Jesus. The Israelites were on the other end of the spectrum. They knew nothing or had forgotten the law and also had to be centered in Christ. When we lax or stray too far always remember to get centered in Christ.

      Dear Heavenly Father, you hear your son's heart cries for his marriage, for his family. Lord, we join him in praying his heart's cries. Lord, surround them, protect them and we give you all the glory as you do so. To You, we ask forgiveness from every selfish, unkind, unloving act, thought, word. We pray that you will bring healing to all the hearts involved. May this healing be a testimony for your love. In Jesus' name we ask and we thank you for hearing and answering. Amen.

    Pauls anger reflects the burden of God. In fact it was God working through Paul to display this disapproval of this non-gospel. Somewhat like Jesus overturning the tables in the temple and speaking "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers. Over all God is concerned for the salvation of all people and when something gets in the way it evokes God's legitimate anger. Thank you all for your insights! Greatly appreciated!!

    Thank you pastors for this study. Though one feels Paul's deep disappointment that you know best to describe as "pastoral frustration"... I sense a softening of heart from vs 11 onward; perhaps an underlying hurt for them, resulting in the relating of his calling (perhaps reiterating what they had previously heard) to ram home God's love, grace and mercy for the purpose of kneading their hearts again. Just a thought...

    see FF Bruce in his commentary on Romans, Grace and peace is Paul saying Hello, Hello. Note also that John uses this in the book of Revelation in the introduction. The Greek greeting was very near or close to Grace and the Jewish greeting, Shalom. Grace and Peace. Sayiing Hello to both Jew and Gentile. Now, did John the Revelator pick up on this???

    Just an observation...
    Make sure the camera is directed so that you are looking AT the viewer who is the 3rd part of the discussion. In this video, the angle is often from the side - like you are speaking to someone else. It would feel more personal to have you looking at the viewer like you do it in your sermons

  • @tangrylady

    Why is it acceptable for Saul/Paul to call upon someone's "eternal condemnation" for possibly believing something other than what HE preached?!? For him to say even if an angel comes down from heaven, do not believe them?!? He claims grace and peace with one breath...and then eternal condemnation with the next?!? I feel like the astonished one...
    P.S. Can you all share what sources you use to learn about the apostle's and first believers' lives not testified to in the Bible? Please! This is for genuine study. I know there are hundreds of Christian texts that weren't included in the canonization of the Bible. But I'm curious if they're the ones used to ascertain history.

    • @hectorado

      I think Paul made those declarations with such confidence because he taught things he recieved from Jesus Himself. Thats the punch line. If Jesus, the God/Man, teaches you something and you hear me teaching something else, you will ha e all the confidence and authority to condemn me... Jesus is the answer i guess

    • @tangrylady
      @tangrylady 2 года назад +1

      @@hectorado But we DON’T have authority to condemn. And what if the angel claims to be sent by Christ? Or a fellow believer does? What reason is their to believe Paul over all others?! Christ would understand that deception can be powerful where trust and faith must be applied. He wouldn’t eternally condemn someone for BEING deceived.

    • @hectorado
      @hectorado 2 года назад

      @@tangrylady if we go in the name of Christ, we go under His authority (Mat 28: 18). In this case, Paul has the authority of Christ becasue he is an apostle (pray and rewatch the video fully... they literaly talk about this and explain this same point). And there is a difference between being wrong, honestly wrong, if i may and deception. Check out Jer. 14: 15... is strong language, but you can see it as a love warning. Imagine we are the false teachers of Galatians and read those word of condemnation... i will be like bruh, maybe we should read the torah again... if we were honestly wrong... but maybe he used this strong language because they just wanted to do wrong... make sense? Check the video again with prayer and youll see they talk about this stuff

    • @ashwellpienaar953
      @ashwellpienaar953 2 года назад

      "For there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." thus resulting in condemnation by default, when outside of Christ(Word). (Jesus is the Word)...Paul is just stating the resultant obvious....keep on seeking the Truth in Love!

    • @melburrett9737
      @melburrett9737 2 года назад

      Just an additional point Jaramie- Paul actually even declares that “eternal condemnation” be upon HIMSELF IF WE (Paul included!) were to preach a another/ false gospel!
      It’s literally a declaration of the importance of Gospel TRUTH to go forth- that the revelation of Christ Jesus- the gospel truth, the good news must remain unchanged- or it ceases to BE the gospel good news

    Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. (Galatians 3:21‭-‬22 ESV)
    For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:13‭, ‬16‭-‬16‭, ‬19‭-‬24 ESV)
