Not sure. I was going to tap into my quadcopter for power. Probably your best bet is to try to find a similar size better in capacity and dimensions. Not sure where to look.
The casing is a bitch to remove and requires patience. This little experiment took my Session from critical condition to the grave. Be very careful when prying.. there are fragile circuit boards directly underneath.
No, the case on the session is what makes it waterproof. that said, I do have a workaround... I was planning to coat the boards with liquid electrical tape. I am not sure how I would seal up the usb port though.
Nice! How long did you heat it up for? I just pryed open a session. Tried heat via butane torch to no avail, too hot to touch. Then I tried using a hot hobby knife. It worked but the whole cam looks like shit and it completely looses its waterproofing quality as theirs no proper way to secure the case to the internals.
Oh bummer, I just used my wife's hairdryer for about 10min. Then a sharp ended flat-head screwdriver. That worked quite well. I think if I did it again I could do it without causing any damage at all. As for sealing it up again, I would just use silicon all around the edge of the case when I put it back together.
"Here is how you open your case without any damage"........"I dont care if the case gets broken i just pry it open with mad force like any other idiot"......
Where can I buy a new battery for an okay price?

I just started taking my go pro hero 4 session part got the lens off and was prying it open and it started working lol
think it turned out it was the SD card coursing the problem
had it 7 years now
Haha! Well hooray for things fixing themselves!
I was waiting for you to pull out a big hammer🤣 but really I will try this to open my 2 dead sessions and see if I can fix one of them
😂🤣 It's worth a shot. Just go slow and be okay with messing up the rim of the case. You can always add a lot of glue when you put it back together.
Should be titled "How to destroy your GoPro case"

is this still waterproof

How much weight does just the case take off? I am thinking about putting it on a micro drone.
Just the case will save about 15g.

Nice ! why so many dislike ?
Haha, good question. Wish I knew. 😁
Basically because the camera has burst just opening it ... a little heat and no need to pry with a screwdriver ...
what's nice about destroying the case ? the whole point is minimum damage ..
