Never really been a fan of the no clothes Janna in regular league, thus Def looks better

I'm pretty sure LoR and LoL share the same creative dev team (being at the the same company), so the updated visual design that Janna is getting in LoR should match the one Janna would get in League (eventually ^_^).
This looks to be the case with the upcoming Jax visual update in League.

Janna Lvl 1 being her mortal form and Lvl 2 being her god form is so 👌! I love it!
I think it's more lvl 2 is her normal form when lvl 1 is form friendly to people.
Aka her peace and combat form. This kinda fits as more friendly demigod. Also like her W bird
Hmm with what we know about how spirits work I offer this explanation. Her level 1 form is how she looks currently, only having few people believe in her so she is in a weakened form, her level 2 is her at her height of power as many people prayed to her for good wind

And I thought Wild Rift rocked with her redesign. This look not only makes her feel like she really belongs in her region but it also fits her lore of being a spirit that helps the deprived citizens of Zaun.
Her design looks so freakin' good, but I feel like she should become an Origin champion rather than staying a Piltover/Zaun champion. Her design doesn't really scream Piltoverian or Zaunite. Almost mistook her faction emblem for Shurima.
@@BowserisOKPnZ used to be a part of Shurima + she has somewhat of a Shuriman origin, but almost ceased to exist when Azir ordered people to stop believing in her
@@BowserisOK Geographically, Zaun is connected to Shurima since there is a Shuriman tomb at the bottom of Zaun. Ezreal used to explore it. So her design here makes sense even if she is PnZ in her gameplay.

For those that are confused with “Shuriman design”. Janna IS from Shurima! Her original name is Jan'ahrem and she’s an actual Shuriman Goddess… But with the ascension of Azir and his subordinates Janna and her faith was banned from Shurima as he didn’t want to “share” adoration. While Azir and other “new gods” of Shurima had divine powers they’re not truly divine as their ascension is artificial. Janna actually is a god, and losing her faithful caused her to lose her powers, but she found a new purpose with the sailors as they needed protection from the dangerous seas. Her new home was then at a costal city in shurima that would in the future be Zaun/Piltover.

Tbf jax's vgu in lol is gonna take inspiration from the LoR redesign, so I think they'll eventually have more lor redesigns in league.

I love almost everything about her. I think the design is strong and she feels more like a goddess. Only point of critique is her voice for me. Like yes her voicelines were a bit meh and unrelated in LoL but i liked her breathier voice more. Now she had a deep strong voice but lacks the gentle and breathy voice. I know its a small point but it made me rlly love Janna in league.
My thoughts too, her voice doesn't *feel* like Janna at all... I was expecting a more mysterious, quiet goddess, not Kayle. Still, great redesign other than that complaint from my perspective

I love the voice change because it showcases who she is. She’s a GOD. Her voice should BOOM in your ears. When she saves you, you should feel her comfort and confidence in all aspects, even her voice. She shouldn’t sound like she’s a little girl being overtaken by the wind. She COMMANDS the wind.
I love her voice. Her voice in LoL is very immature and childlike while her voice here befits a god of her status. She's giving grown woman not little girl.
@@theshorttylerthat’s like 70% of the female characters tho, also she was more about being a supporting ally than someone who is a powerful god, back then she was like she would be glad to be there for you while new Janna feels like you have to kneel and beg to receive her help, her old gentle and breathy voice felt more fitting to her wind and support theme, I agree with op, great rework but old va nailed it more.
Having your champion card announcing that you have the out is probably the most badass thing you can do in any card game.

Are you referring to when Janna does her Voice Line after Nilah is drawn?
If so, she probably doesnt say it when Nilah is drawn, but rather when she's summoned. The only reason we hear it here is for the ambience/cinematic effect

Since Janna's original design didn't include green, I believe her new design incorporates green in order to better show that she's from Zaun (as green is Zaun's primary color). That's super cool!
Her wearing gold could represent Piltover as well (gold being one of Piltover's primary colors), though the gold is likely more tied to her Shuriman roots (Zaun formerly being a Shurima seaport, Osha Va'Zaun).

For the music alone this reveal gets a 10/10 from me but oh boy do the redesing and her new voice bump that vote up to 100, voice which at first made me a bit confused but now I really love it because it feel like this Janna is a matured version of the one we have known all this time. She is majestic ❤

Edit: alright I got it she was originally in shurima. It was my impression that she had been "shaped" by the belief of zaunites, wasn't caught up with the lore my bad.

I did NOT expect this, with this beat she feels more like a "yuh gangster" deity than just "oh im holyer than thou look at me mortals" yk? It really feels like she has been integrated to Zaun.
Love her design,very clean and fits with PnZ (finally),but l can't see a world where her effects are balanced and not completely broken

Holy ****! Awesome, LOR team strikes again with the glow up for old champions. Can't wait to play Janna in LOR and maybe some day, we will get her ASU in LoL.
I was really afraid of her archetype being some form of burn damage/removal (due to divine draft design) or maybe even recalling units. But this design is magnificent and even as a Piltover hater (piltover removal/burn, the rest is enjoyable) i think her archetype is really well-made and healthy. Can't wait for the funny "infinite draw" or the "0 cost" decks that are gonna come out (visionary decks coin printer 2.0 incoming)

as an ahri enjoyer i would have loved some new recall champ and a new region she can work with but yeah her design still seems very fun :D
@@lunahri4173 I'm fine with recalls if they are used proactively (kinda like lee sin but without nexus damage), and i think other regions (like noxus or bandle city) kinda deserve it too. Because if you think about it, recalling enemies has a similar theme to Overwhelm (you get thrown so hard you end up out of the board or dealing colateral damage) so i was hoping this will eventually end up in someone like Blitzcrank (resembling his E in League) or even Alistar, just not some "i won't move the entire game and recall/stun all your board" Karma thing.
So I'm pretty glad they made Janna like this, Can't wait to see what they did with Volibear.

Riot, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have been a Janna main ever since I started playing the game in 2018. She helped me through many difficult times in real life, and this new design has warmed my heart. I can't wait to hear her voice lines; we will finally get to experience her true identity instead of those basic and sexualized voice lines. Thank you so much, Riot!

How do LOR manage to make every single champion from their main game look so bad by comparison. They haven't missed once. Malphite, Jax, Yi, and now Janna. She looks amazing here. I only hope one day these designs make their way to the main game.

Now this is what a deity look like, and Runeterra's own gods are still such unexplored area, she fits her lore so well.
This is Jax/Yi level of redesign if not more.
JESUS... Janna looks awesome, he level two being her divine form is a stroke of genius.
Might be an unpopular take, but, as much as I love her new redesign, I think it leans a bit too much into her Shurimans origins and not enough into her current Zaunite days.
I feel like the lvl 1 design could've used some white cloth so not to stray far from her current design and give her a bit of a more ethereal feel. I'm actually cool with all the gold details, but I feel like she could have some Zaun charms in the form of metal scraps and the like. Lore wise it looks like she's mostly interacting with Shuriman (or mostly) characters, while leaning heavily on her being a maritime goddess (not necessarily bad but there close to zero representation of her being the god that helps Zaunites breathe and that promotes their endeavours).
The lvl 2 design was a really welcome surprise. I'm loving a more god-like form, one that isn't comprehensible to humans, I don't understand why making her more a bird than Xayah or Rakan are.
This might be more of a personal taste thing so take it with a grain of salt, but while I'm aware that she was seen turning in a blue bird (iirc, probably Zephyr shaped anyways) I thought of birds more of a sacred animal to her rather than her "true form".
Absolutely love ALL the voiceline showcased in the video tho, wonder why they couldn't keep the VA from league tho.

If next year Nidalee, Janna, Seraphine, Jax, Rumble, Zilean getting a LoR VGU but no new champs release for a whole year in LOL, i wouldn't be mad at all. All LoR designs have been amazing so far, LOL could've learn from LoR
