I'm a little shocked at her reaction to Pokemon Silver, I knew she wasn't a zoomer but feeling old when someone says their first game was from the year 2000 is wild.
My first games were from the mid 90's on the family PC. Some where on Floppy Disks... I wasn't even 5...yes I remember them, my earliest coherent memories are from when I was almost 4.
My sisters had that thing. I was lucky and got to learn with Adventures in Typing With Timon and Pumba. Rafiki taught me how to type, rather than the dull Mavis Beacon experience.
I don't care if it's nostalgia or not. I still fully believe that the PS2/GameCube era was the peak of console gaming. Glad Ember was able to be there for that time. Hags do indeed be blessed. Dreamcast, my beloved.
All eras have great games, it depends on what you like. As someone who is into story rich games, maybe gaming was never better. I also love arcade games, so Sega Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast are still regularly played in my house.
I can't talk about before that era, but from my experience it absolutely was the best. games weren't driven by player retention and monetization, and they were designed by people who actually loved and enjoyed them. I started playing burnout 3 again earlier this year, and it was just pure fun the whole time. Jump in, choose a car you like, and race.
Embers youthful hag persona is so confusing y'all... One second she feels like a skinny jean wearing, silicone wristband band sporting highschooler. The next second shes telling you how she's older than Dizzy.
Ah Mavis Beacon, a name I haven't heard in decades now. Used to be on all our school computers. My first game would have been Astroblast on the Atari 2600. At least, it's the first game I can remember, I was playing them before I could read.
The first game I can remember playing was probably on a late 80s Macintosh computer (though I was playing it in the mid-90s) a game in black and white where you drop a stickman from a helicopter to land him in a cart. Naturally, being like, 5, I dropped the stickman onto the ground a lot more, and laughed when he went splat.
I've got Ember beat. I remember playing this ol' maze game made with ascii graphics, where you shot bouncing shots around corners to blow up nests that spawned enemies. I can't even find what it was called, but I do recall being impressed The Ancient Art of War had 4 colors (black, white, cyan and purple iirc).
Combat with the joystick and Kaboom with the paddles on the 2600, someone else commented Demon Attack which I got about a year later and put way too many hours into. Y'all so freakin' young.
holy fuck the nostalgic flashbacks. the first typing game i played was a duo of soccer and basket ball typing games. also had mavisbeacon. wow i completely forgot about those. thanks Eber!
No, she finished school in 2012, according to an offhand comment in a stream a few months ago. That means she was born in 1994. Playing old games doesn't mean you played them at the time they released.
@malcolm_in_the_middle but was that highschool in 2012 or college with bachelor? Shiina is 30-31, if I recall she's 5 years older than dizzy, older than both shiina and Lumi, Sakana said he was 8 or 9 when starcraft came out which came out 1998
The first one I can clearly remember is Adventure (on the Atari 2600). There was probably some "edutainment" game before that, but I couldn't tell you the name of it.
Pajama Sam was the first one I consciously remember playing on my first PC But before that there was Dendy and I couldn't remember which game was first there for my dear life, "all of them" I would say.
If we don't count stuff like Game&Watch that someone at kindergarten let me hold for five seconds, I clearly know what my first games are. For my 6 y/o birthday I got a Chinese Famicom clone as present, which had a 20-in-1 game cartridge. It had light gun games, Lode Runner and Bomberman. >Al was used to remove the original bgm So you added this? This sounds like a famous Japanese city pop song, I just forgot what's it called.
Embers taste in games never fails to disappoint here. Didn't knew she was into Jak and daxter as well lol. Love that series. We love our youthful Hag oshi ember ♥️ 🐀

What a hit of nostalgia with the "Mavis Beacon" name drop.
Absolute proof of hagdom right there.

You and me both silver. Ps2, Xbox and game cube all had such a great library of games here. Good times :)

Either that or SNES/Genesis era.
@Achonas this held true to portable devices until the switch as well
2:55 Nimgul, you are not alone and your feelings are valid.
5:16 She didn't need to do Clara dirty like that but, but someone had to.
INB4 Clara shows up here and “What the hell, man?!”

she was a skinny jeans band tee teenager
during the Gulf War

They kept using the Apple II's and their games (like Mavis Beacon) in schools well into the 90s, so she didn't necessarily play it in 1987.

I think one of my first favorite games was Demon Attack on the Intellivision.

Wow! She is older than me and I'm a fossil that witnessed the first episode of Pokémon
The first game i owned and played all the way through is Zelda:OOT. I would play random games on my brothers NES/SNES before that though.
Duke Nukem 3D (1996).
Damn I was a based 7yr old at the time.
Ember and I shared the same childhood if we both "played" Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.
she's got to be around 36 or 37 since she remembers alot of games from late 80's and early 90's
You think people play games only at the date of their release? Pfff.
Bro I was playing Pokemon gold on gbc in like 2009
She's around mid 30s and just slightly younger than Sakana by a couple months, I'd say she's around 34-36

This isn't your average hag..this is advanced hagmaxing!
This is just a bit. Ember revealed ages ago that she finished school in 2012, meaning she was born in 1994. She's 30, not 40.
StuntCopter from 1986 I think was my first game.

What program/AI do you use to remove the original BGM?

is she 40 years old?
My guess early to mid 30s

Going by the information provided by the talents, the oldest is 30 and a few months. Ember is prolly over 27 under 30.
