Sweet Phil, I would be pumped to see you do some farming in the areas mentioned that you do not farm. Act 5 portal areas, Ice Pits, Arachnid Lair . . . Back up your rankings with some videos of you magic finding there. Maybe a couple hundred runs each and let's see what you find. Keep Slayin'!

Farm the place where you find no immunities against your character. The drops will always vary depending on your luck. Just farm wherever you find it fun. Good luck!
The disrespect to the arachnids lair is crazy! I’ve found Coa, eth andys, multiple HRs, and other end game gear there. It’s one of the fastest places to farm.
The big bonus to me on farming nihlathak is the grand charm drops to reroll, keys, and the halls tend to drop nice bases.

I had fun with this one....Its one of the main reasons i decided to become a member...that and your videos have helped me come back to d2r with new gained confidence.....Oh and your macro video......DUDE where has that one been all my life lol....Up too 400 runs now with NM andy still looking for that SoJ. I'm gonna try and identify 200 rings instead of 100 this time and hopefully i'll have better luck lol + i'll comment somewhere the counter too see how long it took to get 200 rings lol.
Dac Farren is actually a good super unique to farm. He can drop almost anything and is easy to kill. Also has one of the highest drop rates for zod rune. He's the imp half way up bloody foothills.
Resistant to fire and cold though. Only a a+ teir character can farm effectively
As a Frost Maiden with 347% MF I find the Stony Tomb in Act 2 is the best for me currently. I did AT forever and ever but I prefer the Tomb as I find it faster and with Creeping Feature sometimes I get a extra unique or decent rare. My ST entrance is two steps to the left outside of town hahaha. Great video, Phil!
My cousin found a Griffon on Nihlathak... But so lucky, I never heard such a thing before. Agree with you, Phil, for all.

Trav is S tier with a Barbarian. The number of items (and the gold) you get with 70% extra items from horking is insane. Probably b-tier for everyone else, yea. But Trav really belongs two places on the list, S if you're a barbarian and B if you're not. If you're running Trav and you're not a barba
Trav is only S when terrorized with a barb. B tier barely when not. I would personally put it on C tier. Horking is overrated when you have access to consistent P7 games. Sure, the statement that Trav is the best place to get high runes on player 1 is true. But when you get up to higher player counts, you can go into places like Glacial Trail and kill ghosts about 3 times as fast as killing council members, and those ghosts on P7+ have an almost equivalent chance to drop high runes and they can drop up to a zod. Not to mention that unique packs can drop every item in the game there. That's just one example.
Thanks for your effort, but I think you should rework this list, because there is "no best magic find location". It depends on different things!
A list in this form is not good... sorry to say that, ... it gives new players a rough direction, that's not worthy to run blood moor or dry hills, but that's it!
You should split this List into "Targets"
1. Which item-category you want to farm (highrunes, uniques, tc85-uniques, bases, etc.)
2. which char/build is good for it...
3. "Ladder-phase"
Here are examples why:
1.
If you want to find a griffon -> all non-TC85-areas are 0-Tier, because it cannot drop (except Pindle)..... ok, you cannot farm a griffon, it happens, when it happens ;)
If you want to find a shako -> andy/meph S-Tier
If you want to find High-Runes. Cows, Travincal and maybe CS with higher playercount or seal-popping is way to go. -> S-Tier .... and ofc under the consideration of "monster-density".
2.
Fire-sorc --> CS is F-Tier
hammerdin/FOH --> CS is S-Tier.
Hydra-Sorc --> Stony tomb is S-Tier, and Pit is F-Tier
3. "Early Ladder", if you are a sorc, Meph is S-Tier! "Late Ladder" you can down-rate Meph.
What I want to say there is "no best magic find location". As I said, it depends on "the char/build", "the targeted item-category" and "ladder-phase".
And ofc, the "best magic find location" is that, which you like to play!
FOH Pally is incredible for Pits… everything is Undead or Demons and you can Charge everywhere.
FOH is way more fun than hammers
City of damned is also good btw :) area 84, i dropped there tyraels might, has also WP, but its hard to farm , you need zerker usualy or hammerdin.
Arachnid Lair is a wonderful place to farm. It's super close to the waypoint but sometimes the mobs are not really that many. But depending on your clearing speed, that is probably high B to low A tier imo.
Plus the spiders seem derp. Uniques that just kind of pivot and walk around rather than attack.
IMO stony Tombs is S tier, or at least you could debate this one as good as the pits. Ez to find if you can tele, even if you can’t on the way to finding it you come across so many packs along the way. Once you find It you can clear it so fast as the spawns are almost identical each run. Lots of chest also armor/weapon racks and If it’s for you you can break pots. Fast and ez great for bases/runes and every item can drop. Thumbs up!
Hey guys remember , if you have the build for it. DO NOT sleep on the non champion packs. They can just as easily drop HRs , eth berserker axe , gg charms ect ect.
Had good drops from nilathak and mobs before him. HR, good charms(otherwise reroll), he likes to drop just one item sometimes, but that one item can be from not bad to godly sometimes. Personally I found player count doesn’t really matter on nilathak, one player can still net u some good items.
It is quite useless for everybody else but you, to put some areas in the order you like. You have to do those areas, which you need to. If you need to level, it does not make much sense to do anything else but Diablo and Baal. If you need keys, it does not make much sense to do anything else but Countess, Summoner and Nihlathak. And for everything else, the area you have to do, is the area in which the immunes match you skills.
Poor old Mausoleum not getting the love!

I would add Arcane Sanctuary in here and would even rank it A Tier and I'll tell you why. I know lots of people avoid it at all costs because it can take a while but with a sorc or anyone with Eni you can teleport to the ends of all 4 paths and open all the chests, there are fairly easy monsters, many ghosts with chances of runes and you get the chance to drop a key of hate. It's probably my go to farming area in Act 2.
Ghosts, while good for runes, phy immune in hell. Once you can teleport, popping the chests becomes a "why not"
obviously, D2 is RNG, but i personally found a Ber while fuckign around in arcane sanctuary, so now i clean the big packs always
Nihlathak is a fairly dangerous place to farm. He seems to drop loot like pindle does. Never when you need it to though. Seems like an appropriate rating.
I'm with Phil. I have never had anything decent drop off Nihlathak.
Nihl can drop any item in the game so hes good.
I think Trav could be argued for S tier, but absolutely should be A tier. I admit that I have had some decent luck there, but there are so many benefits! Static location, as you said about runes and jewelry drops, but there is also lots of jewels, charms, flawless gems (makes crafting skillers really easy) and of course lots and lots of gold. So you can gamble all the time! You can do a really decent budget setup for your merc where his survivability is really high, just needs to be geared for Trav specifically. Once you are ready, it is pretty quick to do!
It all comes down to personal preferances tbh.Travincal in my opinion is one of the best but as a trav runner i only reccomend even attempting it with only the specific item find zerk barb+a decent pc with fast ssd.If u have this and u just dont hate it and dont love at the same time i even rate it to atleast A Tier.Its always in the same spot takes 30-40 secconds with enigma,once u have the right gear for yourself,and for your follower you die like once /500 runs.For a follower you just basicly need high leve to bump up hes resistence by regularly+ a guarding angel chestpiace for the +15 max fire res.My follower never dies basicly.If u love quick runs,and you can tolerate the repetitive runs over and over again until atleast 1000 runs,trav is a no brainer for u S tier.
I agree, Trav is S++++ with Horker. Best Spot in the entire game, if you just want to have most "valuable things per runtime".
But this kind of "Area-Tierlists" are worthless without having a look on the "char/build" and "item-category" which you are looking for and some other conditions.

Arachnids lair is crazy good. Close to wp, good for light/ cold. Lots of fire immunes. I would put it at B. Just my
Opinion.
My Javazon enjoys that zone, along with the Swampy Pit off Flayer Jungle waypoint.

I personally love ice tombs. It looks nice, evil urns spawns, also found net most amount of hr by just running through. Only downside would be tedious to farm it because of sheer size of them, but i still love them 😁
I never rly ran the pits in LOD but now with so many 85 lvls including chaos I feel like its losts its magic. I run it with my tesladin bc I never get to touch anything that isnt a champion. Back in lod with so few 85 areas that are outside of act 5 it was a easily killable 85 area but with chaos or worldstone keep giving better exp with more champions how good is it still.
I use to run the mausoleum in lod and got some really good drops but with all the 85 areas now I havent touched it. Back in LOD I got so many shakos off of blood raven then you clear mausoleum

I really do like to Mix IT Up,
So my Main Route(hydraorb) is Like
Countess->Pits->Andy->Stony->Trav
All i one Game and Sometimes i Just Join Baal Games and do lk Runs
Those are the Most comfortable Things to Farm IMO but you cant get everything there, but there you can Farm Gear that makes you good enough to Beat dclone and Gear your chars ...
Arachnid's lair is relatively small and lots of boss/champion packs. Right by the waypoint. 10 days into D2R ladder I dropped a Sur rune and Tal's armor there. I never get anything from Trav either! Other level 85 zones left off are the Swampy Pit in Act 3 and the Temples in Kurast. But, they really aren't worth running and would just clutter up your F-tier list. I like running The Pit, Arachnid Lair, Stony Tomb, Meph, Eldritch and Shenk, Pindle and Nihlathak. Most of your list I agree with though.
Damn B tier for Trav? Trav is awesome. Super fast runs and tons of loot especially with a find item Barb plus a ton of gold for gambling.
it's probably due to item level, for runes its good for for actual MFing good uniques, its not good
Stoney s tier 100percent, most special mobs imo, plus easy for cold and fire, or just have infinity

Reasonable ranking, but Nihlathak probably should be a lot higher since he is one of the best XP at higher levels, can drop baal (level 90) grand charms, and is easy/safe to kill with certain builds (e.g. light sorc).
We are talking about best mf spots here....
if you have a Nature's Peace ring it makes Nihlathak easy, without it depends what you are playing and he can be extremely dangerous.

I’ve found ber/jah,several other runes, good charms, and uniques. I have found good items from Baal waves…but not nearly often enough for the sheer number of max player Baal runs I have done. They just have curiously low drop rate in practice.
Mephisto overrated. Huge layout, super dangerous for walkers bc of bone fetishes, and not ilvl 85. Great early endgame but falls off after.
Lol Sweet Phil is more than just the Jewelry and the Runes, so much deeper than that.
arach has a fix big chest on the left, it take only 10sec to find,then i ran traves
found my first Ber in chaos, then again somewhere else a week later i forgot where though. i couldnt believe getting 2 like that so close
Also you missed Sewers in act 3 Phil, And ICy cellar in act 5 is pretty good, small packed with elites and can be well farmed with fire builds, ideal for hydra, golden chest there is also basicly higest Gold chest in game able to drop TC87 items.
Never got anything good from the golden chests... considering not even opening them any more :(

Interesting what you said about Trav. I've been getting quite lucky there recently with a few drops and in general I think my luck is terrible.
The icy tunnels are actually good for fire builds with decent density, but they are dangerous and you need a good geared char especially on high player settings
Trav + Mephisto in one go is s-tier imo. Probably faster than a proper CS run.
thats my go to. though I can do CS on p8 before the others finish baal, but if its taken i got Trav, E/S, Pindle or whatever. skip meph because he takes too long on nova sorc p8
I found Windforce in the mausoleum but i still think its kinda bad there but sometimes its cool to switch things up :)

i like how Baal wave are 99% just good XP, and every now and then you see a COA or some crazy shit drop
So I’ve been off and on again with this game. Kind of burned myself out trying to farm tal rasha armor and high runes. Right now my MF sorceress has a little over 400% MF. Is that too much or is there any really big difference say like 200 MF?
I'm not totally sure about resurrection but the random drops can be crazy! I once found a tals ammy in the blood moore in a chest on hell difficulty!
dropped my very first Griffon's eye and arachnid mesh on stony tomb, unfortunately the G's eye was eth but it has become my favorite farming spot
Honestly though give the mausoleum and the other tomb there more love you also get blood raven so if its terrorized you get the super unique drop.
Also if it's terrorized it ends up having more unique monsters then when it's just the pits!!!!! I mean wtf why is the highlands not terrorized too. I'll tell you why it's because you turds build it up so much...
I've had WAY more drops from the council next to mephisto. Hardly anything off the ones by the orb but found eth titans eth treks 2 jah runes n a ber. I know they must have the same drop rates but I know it's not only me who's noticed this so maybe the drop table is different.

Lol I got a Lo in wsk on a soul today. I've found soj, ber, ohm and tons of stuff on nihl. Nihl and wsk are my S tier. Halls are my A tier, didn't even make your list. Found Dweb on Baal wave 3
Ancient tunnels good for windy as well with enigma
Baals waves are very strange. I found a COA and a few hrs that's it. Even with a barb item finding with 1 minion left I get nothing.
Pindle is S tier, not only can he drop every single item in the game but it also takes five seconds to get to him.

I play trap lightning assassin and WSK is so much easier than CS . Not sure if others have this issue.
My spot is river of flame into diablos chamber has been one of the more fun runs for my sorc.
I picked up two griffons, mal, guls, Lo, and a Jah out of terror cows ftw!!! 94 nova sorc 1player
Abodon. I have found a couple of super rare uniques and set items there.
Icy Cellar i do alot :) just died there today cause of dolls and souls but its kinda scary thats why i like it. Also i found 2 Jah's and 1 Sur rune down there with my fire sorc
Icy cellar is S tier but is only an end game.option for when your character can take the challenge. (Hardcore player) I hit icy cellar for solo xp in max player games while someone teleporte to throne etc
The hate for arachnid is crazy, ez to find, super chest. Bunch of champion packs. Good for cold or lightning characters. Can run with an item find barb ez enough too. I'd have it at B tier.
I'd raise WSK at least to A, got a Jah and a Ber from there !
Depending on the mob spawns FoH can wreck WSK very quickly.
Pretty solid tier list. I don't agree with arachnids. I feel like it should be C-Tier . Decent population, nice loot chest, super easy to get to, immunes aren't problematic, not very dangerous. Its not spectacular, but not aweful either, imo.
I'm a Trav junkie barb player. For barb, nothing really beats Travs imo, not even the Pits. Straight S tier for barb and for barb only. I also play single player, so I can't trade for rare and magic equipment, and Travs is also best for that, not just runes.
I'm one of those Pit monsters!

Zakarum council , was an actual source of legit sojs in old days , several times they removed dupes and fixed methods but people wondered where the legit piles came from 🤣.
Full group mf runs = multiple drops per week . Drop rate (i worked on mods for d2) is only . 01 with 4 players drop rate.
Best loot comes from killing most mobs and uniques in a single area , Act3 is huge and annoying but great loot other than act 4-5.
Personal fave zone for MF , False talrasha tombs , highland seige , izual . Was an Auradiin

in my opinion, pindle is a D. It quickly becomes repetitive and boring and his drops are often bad.
Yeah I have no idea why no one farms Worldstone Keep and just skips baal. Its the only place I have found Ber's Lo. I have tried farming all these places some times for an entire day with horrible results.
Meph b tier hard to find and the little stabbies can ruin your day quick
i love farming Tal Rasha's and Arcane Sanctuary because they're cool places and have tons of ghosts
I like terror zone Andy. My mosaic assassin can defeat her in 2 kicks on p8 lol.
You forgot the temples act 3. I run them with my nova sorc super easy and then go to sewers.
