Then I did some research on his roots and, from popping, to his occupation, to his introduction to Latin music, salsa, competition, til I understood, what I refer to as hybrid salsa. Additionally, what I like about his dancing is that he is on Clave, and when there is a song that he likes, he sings along with the tune, knows the breaks and solos. That accounts for his unconventional stops and starts. Cecile, to date, has been his best partner as she understands his "quirks." Today I can appreciate where he came from and what he has achieved.
@@pintorespanol6123 I'm glad I was able to give some inside as to Terry's style. If you noticed his solo is very closely matching the conga solo. When the congero slaps the skins you'll notice Terry's body movements (like popping in hip-hop), when rolls are made on drums, Terry does his shoulder rolls. You can see the appreciation of onlookers, a real treat to watch this star perform. Unfortunately Cecile, as well as most of his other dance partners, just have to mark time when Terry goes into the 'zone'. As a musician one can truly appreciate this additional effort in his dance. @@rtp4919he’s battling during the solo. The women should have her own moves and be able to battle back like Bersy would have done. If they don’t have moves then just stand there and look goofy. New York salseros all understand this.
