Mary Green racehorses, the most expensive type of horse generally bought, usually cost about 60-65,000 to purchase. Most people I know don’t purchase them for over 100k because they are purchased at a very young age before they are full grown and so valuable. They definitely cost 100k+ to maintain but not for initial price point, which is what this video was addressing. Of course the dog wouldn’t have costed simply $25 either, they take much more to maintain over a lifetime, but this video was only comparing price to purchase. The horses you may be referring to are pretty rare. Yes there have been horses purchased for millions but those are pretty exceptional cases. Just based on the majority, most racehorses aren’t sold for more than 100k.

Some animal shelters have more than cats and dogs. There are ones with pigs, bunnies, reptiles, equine, and even alpacas all looking for homes🤗 (just FYI in case someone reading this thinks they need to pay hundreds or thousands on an animal)

They priced him to breed, most likely. You have to know how much he's "worth" to then price his stud fee.
They priced him for insurance purposes. It's a business - they charge stud fees.
I paid 90$ for a Nile monitor (very large lizard) that I was later offered $10,000 for because of how friendly and impressive he was for his species. My Nile is not only potty trained, he follows voice commands AND many hand gestures including pointing. I refused because family now and he's 1 in a million. I could never find another one thats as colorful, intelligent, or as well behaved as he is. Ironically, someone also tried to buy my brothers dog for $10,000 years earlier. He refused also because you don't sell family. Honestly rich people confuse me lol. If they asked me to train an animal for 10grand, I'd be more than happy to! But im not going to sell them MY pet for anything.
