All too often I take shot thinking this will be good until I see it on the computer & then I’m disappointed. This will help me make more of the shots I take. Thanks.
Thanks for this useful tutorial on applying an Adamski Effect to a simple scene. It really can take an otherwise pedestrian image and make it pop. I don't use Adobe software, but I can see how I can apply these techniques with my tools. Cheers!
Got prompted to watch this video just before a short family trip to Northumberland. Timely as the long sandy quiet beaches are perfect for this. Tricksy techniques are not my style but this is fun, thankyou
A great technique to salvage images that would otherwise be destined for the delete bin. I have some images I will definitely try this on, thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks Craig! It's definitely a fun way of trying to add some magic into shots that otherwise might be forgotten. I plan to go through my catalogue over the years and see if there are more that I can try this with! Good luck with yours and please feel free to share the results!
Wow! This is wonderful way to edit some boring seascapes that I have and make them look amazing. Thanks for sharing the great PS techniques. Thank you!!
Just discovered this great video, thanks. At 9:52 you said it’s already a fake image. I disagree. You could argue that the moment you change any single thing on any photo it becomes fake. For example all black and white photos are therefore fake as the world is not black and white. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much ofr this amazing tutorial Andrew!! Discovered this a bit late...I have a question you might clarify for me: Regarding the edits Tomas Fotomas does, for instance, Im just watching some pics he uploaded to IG today (March 5th 2023), how does he tackle the waves in a manner they stay as they were and they are not affected by the path blurr? Meaning, in the specific pic i mention, the wave tube still keeps its roundness and the barrel braking on the water stays the same to (the water splash seems to not be affected by the blurr). Wonder if Im explaining myself clearly enough..Thanks
I'm relatively new, at it for a couple of years but only as time allows, and have been learning by trial, error and RUclips. This not only gives me a new "toy" to play with but has also inspired me to perhaps search out scenes specifically for using this. Thank you for the video!
Fantastic I have been wanting to give this a go thank you so much for sharing. Xxx from Darwin Australia which is so remote I do enjoy being creative. Xxx🥰😍
Thank you so much for this tutorial.... I mastered the technique in thirty minutes and yet I'm still figuring out photoshop itself and my God the result was awesome
I just came across this video google must have been listening because I was checking out someone else's work that did something similar and was wondering how it was done. I was going to start playing around on Photoshop but now I have a better idea. Great explanation. Checked out Thomas' work love it.
One question. When I go to the Path tool, I am unable to 'draw lines'. Is there a key command I am missing? Or perhaps there is an issue with my version of Photoshop. Love this technique and you explanation of it. Well done!
@@rwindrim1 No, I found the solution. If smart guides are hidden you won't see the path. Once you unhide them (before entering the filter) it works perfectly.
@@rgarciamainou Well, this did not work for me. I'm sure it is the graphics card. The age of my computer is limiting the ability to take advantage of the latest up-dates of PS to 23, 23.1 etc. Looks like a new computer is in my future.
Thank you for an interesting technique, I've given it a try without figures and the results are, for me, really good. Going to try with people in the photo next time. Thank you again.
Good luck, Warrick! Keep the idea in mind when you next go out with your camera as it might be easier to try and shoot images specifically to try and do this edit.
@@AndrewLanxonPhotography Absolutely. I think I will give it a crack with some wildlife pics actually. Will have a go and be sure to tag on Insta if it works out.
Hey man, first time I watch one of your videos. I think it's awesome you share your inspirations and give them credits, not something I see much in the photography/video world. Also great tutorial, I think I will try it at some point! Best of luck with your channel, great content.
Hi Andrew I like to class myself as a purist when it comes to photography. If the sky isn't good in an image I won't replace it, I'll just go back another day and hopefully get a better sky. I really don't like composite images and it's not something that I want to try but this technique I found very interesting. I definitely want to try it on some of my images that look suitable. As you said it's not something that I'd do regularly but now again when an image suits it's worth trying it
Just a heads up - rather than Ctrl+C/V, when you have a selection, just hit Ctrl+J to duplicate the selection to a new layer 😊
Right
I especially love the photo with the dog!
Dogs make ALL photos better. It's a pro trick.
Love this! I have LOTS of shoreline photos I can try this on.
I have been coming up with ways to abstract landscapes and I am very thrilled to find this video. Thank you.
Simply fantastic!
Thanks Stephen!
top of the shelf tutorial...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Definitely worth playing a bit with this!

Same thing here and I got the latest version. Perhaps you're skipping a step in the tutorial.
@@rgarciamainou actually it is a graphics card issue. My late 2013 iMac cannot handle PS beyond version 22.2. 😕

Just direct to the point..people hate long intro nowadays
I have a beach seen with a flock of seagulls I'm going to try this out on.😊
Amazing!! I want to try this out so badly!!
