I was gonna add that too, me and some friends played couch co-op years ago, 2 of the guys were wiping the map clean the moment they stepped out of Hammerlock's gates, me being only slightly familiar with the game I was still checking the weapons I had and got left behind along with the other guy.. ..Who was just as bad on the other spectrum, since this guy was basically playing it like a walking simulator, staring at walls and floors half the time, the respawning enemies would repeatedly kill him as he missed almost every bullet he shot. He'd played Borderlands before by the way, in fact shooters he's most familiar with but he cannot shoot to save his life. Literally. He also has no spacial awareness and gets lost in narrow linear hallways and I'm not even exaggerating. So I was stuck in the middle, missing all the action AND babysitting at the same time. It was exhausting trying to find a balance, in the end it just wasn't fun at all.
Borderlands and gears of war are the 2 core memories of mine that I can not play multiplayer. I haven't tried playing gears of war again. But I've recently gotten back into playing borderlands. It's not as fun as everyone made it out to be. But at least decent enough.
While 2 was my favorite, I hate it when people throw shade at others for playing 3 or any borderlands game that isnt 2. Let people enjoy the games they want to. Not saying you are this kind of person in case that wasnt clear

Really, what do you expect when the channel's own person doesn't know how to spell "official". I got exactly what you were saying, and I agree. Many people hate on BL3, and some of it is justified. But in all of that they lose the fact that the classes were fun(albeit a couple were regurgitations of previous classes), the gameplay was damn good, the guns were fun, the skills and skill trees were good, and the DLC was good. I think people really miss the fact that Borderlands in itself is a parody, and BL3 followed that same route. I actually liked the idea that they poked fun at influencers and using media to get people to do your bidding. You can't say they are wrong when the internet mob mentality is at its peak right now. If you view it as a parody it makes more sense and the story isn't as bad. It's still not great in comparison, but BL2 for all it did well still had clunky combat and driving controls. BL3 fixed that and made it feel so good with updated, and very, very colorful, cel shaded graphics. It was more Borderlands in every sense, and people who didn't play it missed out in my opinion.
Some of the best playthroughs I've had in the last 12 or so years of BL2 have been just creating a character and using whatever shit I pick up throughout the entire game. I've even done a save with most of all side missions completed with just "stuff." Highly recommend for anyone reading who hasn't done this already
I was spoiled my 1st playthrough of BL3. Before I stepped foot on Sanctuary, I had a Butcher, a Maggie and an Infinity drop in the first map. Downside... they were all level 5-8. But they held strong up to 15 before they started showing their obsolescence. The Butcher-Infinity combo is practically God Mode in the early game. 😂
I do the same thing though, I don't really farm for anything. I enjoy the story mode more than the endgame. Wonderlands is actually my favorite in the series. The endgame supposedly sucks and everyone hates loot luck... but I love that game, the maps are really fun. Pirates and Goblins > Meth-heads and Robots. 😂
That's kinda the only way to play. I ain't sitting there for hours just for a gun that'll be scrapped in a couple levels. Also, the game isn't that confusing. its pretty straightforward
I do this all the time on BL3 I restart a max lvled character but put everything in my vault and play the entire game by just finding whatever drops... Best way to play the game IMO.
I’m not a huge BL3 dude, because my step father not only power leveled my first play through, but he also stack up my entire bank with modded guns that I now refuse to use. My brother is also the type of guy to literally fight people over the topic of bl3.
I play No Man's Sky, and some of my friends run right for the Save Editor as soon as they load in a new playthrough and bypass 'the game' to have everything they want at max level immediately. The whole thing becomes about having all the things and then flexing them. I don't get it. Games are supposed to be a challenge. Items are supposed to be earned or they have no value. Whats the point of playing if you just snap your fingers and you have all the best stuff, infinite money and no reason to engage with any of the systems or mechanics? Its not a game, its shopping with a no-limt platinum card you never have to repay. 😆
My personal fav game is bl3. I understand it is terrible. I know bl2 is better. It just has emotional connections with me (playing it with my dad was my only positive memory with him 💅💅👁️👄👁️💅) and it was my first bl game
one of the worst to me is the backseaters, they may be good intentioned, but there is nothing more annoying then playing the game with someone and they constantly tell you how your character isnt optimized, ESPECIALLY when its a new player, i recently played through bl2 with my gf and it was her first ever borderlands game, i didnt say a word about anything in her build and soon enough she figured out exactly what she wanted and what character she wanted to play, and ended up falling in love with the game due to that

At this point I've played more modded BL2 than unmodded. The slag upkeep in UVHM just gets old. Also my luck in these games is atrocious; I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a legendary drop in BL2 before I started using overhaul mods like reborn.

LOl I always get ganged on bc I think PRE-SEQUEL IS LIFE😭😭 My argument as follows: The anti-gravity mobility, laser-class weapons, HARD bosses, the meta playable characters who were former npcs, and the most challenging legendary farming makes it the most rewarding one for me imo. It actually treated you like you played a borderlands game before. If not for its lack of end-game depth, and lackluster story pacing (while still a good story!) It could have possibly contended with BL2. Sadly thats not the case😭, but ill go head and be that 1% who still plays in 2024. BL3 was WAY too easy despite having other worlds and cool builds (I fux with zane though), your review was pretty much spot on for that one... I might not call it dogshit, but its definitely a fucking wreck overall sadly.. Now....BL2 is just too goated to even belong in the argument at all frfr. Bl2 on that ss+transcendant status so its not even fair to compare lol. Lets be honest bl2 is where most of us probably started, and truly got attatched. By far the most content, 7 some odd years of continued development post release, perfect villain, fleshed out the BL1 characters.....BL2 literally carries the franchise.... I will NEVER argue against that. Its god tier. bl1 was the prototype, despite having almost ZERO story... it laid the foundation. personally i think the worst type of borrderlands player is the type to get the game then immediately joins the discrod server and starts begging and demanding max level and best gear for their character its like whats the point of even playing at that point
I’ll never understand why people hate borderlands 3 so much. It’s not my favorite of the bunch but I still enjoyed it. I thought it had the best gameplay. Most varied environments also. But the characters didn’t do it for me. Handsome jack was a far superior villain. I miss him.
I still like borderlands 1 the best. My opinion on borderlands games after that isn't that good as I didn't care for the direction they went with skill trees. My least favorite is 2 as I felt the addition of raid bosses, a new currency, and seraphic weapons was unnecessary, well that and it was very easy to completely unbalance the game. I also find modes like uvhm to be boring. All they did was crank up the health and shields and damage of the enemies. To me, it's rather pointless. I'm still unsure of the metric most people use to determine the best borderlands game. Mine centers on just fun, and anything that detracts from that lowers its ranking. I'm not a min max type of player, so basically, every game after the first one gets an automatic negative since many skills are obviously tuned for min max players and gameplay balance was even slightly adjusted to accommodate the potential ridiculous builds. My friends, I tried to get them into borderlands 3, and they felt completely lost looking at the skill tree. They had no clue what was useful and what wasn't. They didn't play for long.
What's so bad about helping someone power level and alt?? Not everyone wants to spend hours leveling a new character.. Some people just wanna play end game on a new character which is perfectly understandable.

Well, you really made this video in time, I started up pre-sequel for the first time in 3 years and my buddy joins me, but he kept constantly trying to get me on bl3 I got flak to lvl 72, but I was on my lvl45 Zane which became lvl 69 in 2 hours… his flak was maxed to 72 and not just his lvl but his entire skill tree was maxed out ever single skill, and he kept challenging me, so me playing I fought him ducked and weaved for an HOUR, so he 1 taps me obviously and was being sarcastic saying he didn’t mean to do that, so I said that was destined to happen, and he switched into a toxic direction of “oh you’ll never beat me” this that and the other, I told him did we not establish your glitched skill tree, why in gods name is anyone taking it that seriously 💀
Bl3 has the best mechanics and quality of life. But I didn’t finish the story. Partly because I was finishing college but also because none of my friends has the game.
I will say that I end up enjoying BL3 the most because of its mechanics and quality of life features alone. On a technical standpoint, the gameplay alone carries the game (even though, vague spoiler warning, the story is absolute garbage)
Picking bl3 back up and finishing it would be like commiting suicide just because its something uve never done before save yourself the trouble of touching that game

100% I love the game. The endgame, meh. Never bothered getting past chaos 10, only played the DLC to check out the added legendaries. Crackmast Cove and Mount Craw are 2 of the best game levels Inhave ever played. I am always bummed when I 100% them and have no reason to go back. 🤣
@@Bluefire0301 the endgame is kinda redundant, and the DLC was disapointing. And you aren't getting that constant dopamine hit from seeing orange every time you get a kill. But the game itself... the world, the charachters, the gameplay, the whole dual-class system and the new weapon styles and spells and stuff.... amazing. So much fun. I didn't see a legendary til level 25 and it felt very rewarding. I think with the loot luck and chaos chamber format with the barf bunnies and stuff... it kinda hampered the God-Build farmers who put more emphasis on the min/max boss melting thing they got from Borderlands. Its just a different game, a side story completely separate from the Borderlands universe beyond featuring Tina. And people wanted more Borderlands. I love the Medieval fantasy setting and the D&D charachter attribute system and the Overworld board game part. I think the DLC and the expansion of the Chaos chambers to 100 was added just to appease the people who wanted more min/maxing endgame stuff. But the point of the game is 100% in the story campaign.
I would have loved it if the DLC was new maps and more of the same story-driven D&D questing. I do not care about the God Build and perfect roll weapon farming and stuff. Even with Borderlands... I am all about the story game. When I complete it, thats it. I don't spend hours and hours farming. I just play another round with a different charachter and make do with what I get in the game. I think its what gives it replayability, its different every time. If you spend all your time aqquiring the best guns and gear every time, its the same thing every time. The game becomes a list of redundant chores.
Power Level Patricks sure are annoying I do agree. But another I think to be lumped in with them have to be the Power Level Pauls, the guys who incessantly bother you and other random players to power level themselves. Basically the role-reverse of the first one. I swear last I tried playing some nice co-op in TPS I did run into some fun Claptrap and Jack players but I also had a surprising amount of people DMing me to power level them with one of my lvl 70s whilst I was... y'know trying to enjoy a fun game with a new character with some randos online. Like I agree part of the fun is building up your character from scratch, getting to those high levels on your own, hunting down all that good loot for your build, speccing into what you feel is best for your skill tree, the last thing I wanna do when building up my own new character from scratch is to drop what I'm doing and get this rando some levels.

@@SporianSummit that kind of absurdity is why I loved Wonderlands so much. I am not real big on the endgame god build stuff. I enjoy the story and quests. Wonderlands was the most fun. Some of those maps are amazing. Its easier than Borderlands, I would say... or the classes are more powerful, cus I played the whole game pretty much without legendaries. They made the purples better. I had a cryo Deodand with a pixie that cleaned house. And there were not as many really tough bosses as Borderlands 3 either. It was a more laid back game. I don't think the endgame was the emphasis on this one, it was more about the story. It was a game of D&D. Even that DLC and the Chaos Chamber stuff seemed tacked on to cater to the people that wanted to farm and build cracked charachters and have bigger challenges. That was the biggest complaint about the game originally. Nothing to do after the story.
It was kinda a tweener though, it was never gonna be as big as Borderlands. Like the unumbered Far Cry games. Slightly different systems and mechanics, an imaginary setting and a little smaller and shorter... but it still feels like the main entries. I hope they make another one.
The topic of best BL game is contentious I think BL3 is by far the better game in terms of mechanics, visual presentation, and QOL, BL2 is the best in terms of tone, setting, and story. It's almost like they kept the same development team who then iterated on their previous work to make something better, but scrapped the writers for a fanfic squad.
My favorite is lowkey all of them in different ways. Bl1 dlc is really good especially general knoxx. I love bl2 aesthetic and locations. Bl3 gameplay obviously and dlc are also pretty good. Tons of different build varieties and extra skill tree make up for no DLC VH's
IMO, BL3 isn't bad, but (this is gonna be corny) it's "like a worn out recording, of a favourite song". For me, at least, it's, "play the game once, do it again, I'm kinda bored". At first, it's a wonderful game but then it's just "been there, done that. I have this epic weapon I just put in a vault"

I've seen this conversation more than once, I've HAD this conversation live on stream more than once. To these people, only the highest difficulty of the game matters. Literally nothing else is important. This mindset is what leads directly to the power leveling and the cheesing and the bullshit. Get to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Overpower 10 as fast as possible, because only the endgame matters. To paraphrase a perfect example of what I was told: The first playthrough is the intro. True Vault Hunter mode is the actual game, Ultimate Vault Hunter mode is for when you git gud, and Overpower 10 (because 1 - 9 don't matter) is the endgame. And if you're not working toward the endgame, and playing the endgame, and farming the endgame, with a build that can solo the endgame, then you're either not good or you don't like the game as much as you think you do. And this loops ALL the way back to "It's great that you have an opinion. Your opinion would sound a whole lot more interesting if I cared." Again, as so many have said: let people enjoy the game the way they want to. I'm gonna drop a hard truth, and some of you aren't going to like it. When you've done everything there is to do on normal mode? THAT'S the endgame. The rest is just higher difficulties of the same shit. It's literally the exact same game over and over again, but harder. That's it. There is no "endgame" from a higher difficulty, there's just more difficulty. If you ENJOY playing that hard, cool, do it. Show off on RUclips, because you should, because that's great. DO NOT try to make anyone else feel bad because they aren't as ambitious or as good as you. If you can't handle that? Go yell your opinion at a coral reef without scuba gear, and keep yelling until the coral reef plays Borderlands like you do. Don't worry, it'll turn out fine. Personally I think everything in the series has something to offer except new tales which is the worst parts of 3 and nothing else, bl3 has a better (in my opinion) endgame than bl2, plus I think that theres more buld variety than 2, but 2 has a much more fun early game than 3. Bl1 has a nice feel and it's simple, pre sequel has half of a good story and oz kit's which make the most interesting movement mechanics of the series
Probably get hate for this but the thing that comes closest to ruining Borderlands for me personally is the community itself. The constant insults over who likes what game and who's wrong for it is insufferable. BL2 will always be my favorite but I really liked 3 and I had a blast playing Wonderlands with my brother.

For reallll dude. When I was young some dude dropped me a modded Unforgiven masher that shot undertaker bullets and it crashed my shit. I didn’t loose my file thankfully but it was so weird to me as a kid
I feel power leveling is ok but not on first playthrough for example I switched from Xbox to PlayStation and a buddy of mine on PlayStation wanted to do op levels with me so we played normal mode then power leveled me
How about the speed play through Steve's. These are the people that join your session and they just rush straight to the final boss of the level as quickly as possible.

I have a reliable borderlands friend that I met on forums years and years ago in the early days of borderlands 2. We’ve played every new borderlands game together and we always share loot. Sometimes when farming solo, I’ll keep an eye out for stuff for him for when we next play… But the hate I feel when I meet players who take all the loot (Borderlands 2 and 1 I’m talking about here) even when it’s not for their character just because it’s shiny will always be my biggest peeve. They take the shiniest loot then ask why you keep dying. It’s a game I want to enjoy with someone not fight for scraps. It’s why I’m always glad I have my borderlands buddy. We’ve played every game together and completed all the content. We’re currently replaying Borderlands 1 together and it’s…it’s just good manners to take turns with loot you know?
I actually don't know which catagory I fall into, I just pick whatever drops and sell the ones I don't need for extra cash, I don't even know the names of any guns as I just pay attention to their specs😅

so far as the first one of the video, your right, bl2 is superior despite it's 2019 or so endgame nerf, it's still better, so lets figure that one out. simplicity is divinity, simply put. I don't wanna learn 7 billion things for one game. bl2 is more simple, more intuitive, more clear so even a child can understand whats going on, and it doesn't look and sound like HOT GARBAGE. I am not giving my life over so I can learn how to play one game. bl2 is plug and play. that is what's really up. it's diverse in that it is both competitive and casual, immersive and something else along the lines of pro gaming, like it can be farmed in a non role playing way for competitive gain, or you can just play psycho and pretend your really on pandora. bl3? what is that?!?!?!?! I've recently rekindled my love with Borderlands 1 on XB1. I hate seeing people begging for lv69 God-Rolls of items in the looking for group (being that there are only like...4 looking for group posts at any time). A lv69 God-Roll legendary is waaaaaay more rare than a Pearl and possibly even more rare than the legendary Eridian guns. I wish they'd just go farm the vending machines and loot midgets themselves. Also: I've farmed multiple God-Rolls of lv68 guns (my favorite being the Chimera) and haven't lost sleep over them not being lv69. Just recently found your content and have been enjoying it. My brother and I especially enjoyed your story of your first Borderlands rental. I love that your Grandma ended up buying it for you a year later too.
The biggest problem with UVHM is how you kinda just spend hours farming random stuff just cause the storiy/dlcs are nowhere near enough to get to the op levels
no i think i depends if it too much of an OP gun or just a looks of what is like on a high lvl, i think that can give the motivation to continue to playing that good atleast if it was balanced
I have powerleveled but in a single playthrough. And only after enjoying the game as it was intended. Would never powerlevel when playing with friends or online, that's just being a dick.
My least favorite Borderlands player is the group that ignores or talks over others who express that they don’t like Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. Examples being (these are exaggerations but still accurate to my interactions with fans): “I can’t play it as I find slagging everything with HP borin-“ Defender: IT’S MEANT TO BE HARD!!! THAT’S THE POINT! “Slag doesn’t even work on everything, Slagged Psychos and Spiderants are immun-“ Defender: IT’S MEANT TO BE HARD!!! JUST USE SLAG! “So many Skills and weapons are useless now. Cheesey Chad is still a thing because people tend to mod in black rarity weapons, do XP lobbies, drop lobbies and sometimes scam people for their money irl (trust me, I exposed some dood who's done this to multiple people).
Trust me, I’m aware. I’ve never been scammed or been in any xp lobby or nothing like that but I’m very much in the know that it happens. Which is why it’s in our #1 spot
It’s called drop reloading, a method used on pc where you just bind a key to drop weapons and pick them up quickly as it’s quicker then the reload animation
"Selfish Steve" - your friend that beats you to the drop every fucking time, then drops you that gun 5 levels later because he beat you to another good drop. (BL2). You also have to buy ammo because he takes everything from every chest, except for rockets.
Yeah ngl it's crazy with how many complain about seeing different players in there game, yet they still don't use the single player option. It's not even just a borderlands thing either thing I've seen stuff like this multiple different games.
I've met some cool people in online games who were once just randoms, but it still urks me when I join an open lobby and get immediately kicked. Sometimes it'll happen several times in a row switching between lobbies, sometimes I'll message them asking why. It's always "I dOnT wANt PeOplE iN mY gaME" Then. Set. It. TO. PRIVATE. Not only did this waste my time, but theirs as well. I just got home, I wanted to play a casual session and hang out for a bit with someone. Instead I've spent 30 minutes playing Menu Navigation Roulette and now I don't wanna play at all. They sit there, going through the menus every 2 minutes kicking people who join. One at a time if several people join. They'll even die during all the menu scrolling and then get hit with the "host lost connection" screen. People's stupidity truly knows no bounds, mix that with laziness and it's enough to just close the game entirely and play something single player instead. Glad I don't even bother with online games anymore, unless it's Deep Rock Galactic. That's the exception.

I agree with all your points. I've been in some Borderlands Facebook group chats where people ask for help to take down a boss or help with leveling up. I left those chats. Just play the game and work your way up alone is the best way to enjoy any Borderlands game.
I feel that man. It has always perplexed me when people actually WANT to cheese their way through a game. Its a game... its supposed to be challenging. Farming, fine. Rip through it. You already beat the boss once in the game mode, probably with crappier gear. Melt away. 😂 I play a lot of No Man's Sky... the exact opposite of Borderlands 😂. Every time there is a new expedition released, there are 100 videos of how to rip through it as fast as possible with as little effort as possible. Its like guys... you whine that there isn't anything left for you to do in the game... and as soon as they give you a whole new expedition, your blast through it joylessly and then complain a week later there is nothing to do. 😂
I agree with the leveling part, but, if someone needs help with a raid boss, I’ll definitely join with a character around their level, and make them fight the boss with me. After 1000+ hours since 2012, I’ll help anyone with anything borderlands related, except for modded weapons and boosting. That’s some bitch shit.

I think they are talking about cheezing and using a higher level charachter to help you skip levels, stockpile XP and aqquire OP gear so you don't have to actually play the game with any risk or challenge. I hate when I reach a point in a game where its just steamrolling through a list of objectives with a tank charachter like its God Mode. Ubisoft games are bad for that. Far Cry 6 had no point after halfway through. Just chores.
I know someone that wanted to play Borderlands 2, so I was like hell yeah, never took much bl2. He plays... Different. One playthrough. No side quests. No dlc. Race to the first credits and then the game is done. I was so disappointed. That is not how Borderlands is played! After that, the next time we played, I thought we were gonna start on Captain Scarlett, he wanted me to start playing Borderlands 3 (we havent even finished Borderlands 2, or started Pre-Sequel, he hasnt played Tales yet!)
I actually bought new tales from the borderlands last week because i wanted to buy every borderlands game on PS4/PS5. I was able to get all of the borderlands games including new tales and tiny Tina wonderlands.
I dont have very many people that i can play with and not very often (and they are typically not really the gamer type), so i sort of act like player 1, and I'll farm the unique drops in-between our typical game sessions and then i either give them the cool legendary weapons and gear, or i drop it on the ground when they aren't looking anc claim that it eas a world drop.

I was gonna add that too, me and some friends played couch co-op years ago, 2 of the guys were wiping the map clean the moment they stepped out of Hammerlock's gates, me being only slightly familiar with the game I was still checking the weapons I had and got left behind along with the other guy..
..Who was just as bad on the other spectrum, since this guy was basically playing it like a walking simulator, staring at walls and floors half the time, the respawning enemies would repeatedly kill him as he missed almost every bullet he shot.
He'd played Borderlands before by the way, in fact shooters he's most familiar with but he cannot shoot to save his life. Literally. He also has no spacial awareness and gets lost in narrow linear hallways and I'm not even exaggerating.
So I was stuck in the middle, missing all the action AND babysitting at the same time. It was exhausting trying to find a balance, in the end it just wasn't fun at all.

Borderlands and gears of war are the 2 core memories of mine that I can not play multiplayer. I haven't tried playing gears of war again. But I've recently gotten back into playing borderlands. It's not as fun as everyone made it out to be. But at least decent enough.

Really, what do you expect when the channel's own person doesn't know how to spell "official". I got exactly what you were saying, and I agree. Many people hate on BL3, and some of it is justified. But in all of that they lose the fact that the classes were fun(albeit a couple were regurgitations of previous classes), the gameplay was damn good, the guns were fun, the skills and skill trees were good, and the DLC was good. I think people really miss the fact that Borderlands in itself is a parody, and BL3 followed that same route. I actually liked the idea that they poked fun at influencers and using media to get people to do your bidding. You can't say they are wrong when the internet mob mentality is at its peak right now. If you view it as a parody it makes more sense and the story isn't as bad. It's still not great in comparison, but BL2 for all it did well still had clunky combat and driving controls. BL3 fixed that and made it feel so good with updated, and very, very colorful, cel shaded graphics. It was more Borderlands in every sense, and people who didn't play it missed out in my opinion.
Some of the best playthroughs I've had in the last 12 or so years of BL2 have been just creating a character and using whatever shit I pick up throughout the entire game. I've even done a save with most of all side missions completed with just "stuff." Highly recommend for anyone reading who hasn't done this already
I was spoiled my 1st playthrough of BL3.
Before I stepped foot on Sanctuary, I had a Butcher, a Maggie and an Infinity drop in the first map.
Downside... they were all level 5-8. But they held strong up to 15 before they started showing their obsolescence.
The Butcher-Infinity combo is practically God Mode in the early game. 😂
I do the same thing though, I don't really farm for anything. I enjoy the story mode more than the endgame.
Wonderlands is actually my favorite in the series. The endgame supposedly sucks and everyone hates loot luck... but I love that game, the maps are really fun. Pirates and Goblins > Meth-heads and Robots. 😂
That's kinda the only way to play. I ain't sitting there for hours just for a gun that'll be scrapped in a couple levels.

I do this all the time on BL3 I restart a max lvled character but put everything in my vault and play the entire game by just finding whatever drops... Best way to play the game IMO.
I’m not a huge BL3 dude, because my step father not only power leveled my first play through, but he also stack up my entire bank with modded guns that I now refuse to use. My brother is also the type of guy to literally fight people over the topic of bl3.

I play No Man's Sky, and some of my friends run right for the Save Editor as soon as they load in a new playthrough and bypass 'the game' to have everything they want at max level immediately. The whole thing becomes about having all the things and then flexing them.

Games are supposed to be a challenge. Items are supposed to be earned or they have no value. Whats the point of playing if you just snap your fingers and you have all the best stuff, infinite money and no reason to engage with any of the systems or mechanics?

My personal fav game is bl3. I understand it is terrible. I know bl2 is better. It just has emotional connections with me (playing it with my dad was my only positive memory with him 💅💅👁️👄👁️💅) and it was my first bl game
one of the worst to me is the backseaters, they may be good intentioned, but there is nothing more annoying then playing the game with someone and they constantly tell you how your character isnt optimized, ESPECIALLY when its a new player, i recently played through bl2 with my gf and it was her first ever borderlands game, i didnt say a word about anything in her build and soon enough she figured out exactly what she wanted and what character she wanted to play, and ended up falling in love with the game due to that

At this point I've played more modded BL2 than unmodded. The slag upkeep in UVHM just gets old. Also my luck in these games is atrocious; I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a legendary drop in BL2 before I started using overhaul mods like reborn.

LOl I always get ganged on bc I think PRE-SEQUEL IS LIFE😭😭 My argument as follows: The anti-gravity mobility, laser-class weapons, HARD bosses, the meta playable characters who were former npcs, and the most challenging legendary farming makes it the most rewarding one for me imo. It actually treated you like you played a borderlands game before. If not for its lack of end-game depth, and lackluster story pacing (while still a good story!) It could have possibly contended with BL2. Sadly thats not the case😭, but ill go head and be that 1% who still plays in 2024.
BL3 was WAY too easy despite having other worlds and cool builds (I fux with zane though), your review was pretty much spot on for that one... I might not call it dogshit, but its definitely a fucking wreck overall sadly..

I’ll never understand why people hate borderlands 3 so much. It’s not my favorite of the bunch but I still enjoyed it. I thought it had the best gameplay. Most varied environments also. But the characters didn’t do it for me. Handsome jack was a far superior villain. I miss him.
I still like borderlands 1 the best. My opinion on borderlands games after that isn't that good as I didn't care for the direction they went with skill trees. My least favorite is 2 as I felt the addition of raid bosses, a new currency, and seraphic weapons was unnecessary, well that and it was very easy to completely unbalance the game. I also find modes like uvhm to be boring. All they did was crank up the health and shields and damage of the enemies. To me, it's rather pointless.
I'm still unsure of the metric most people use to determine the best borderlands game. Mine centers on just fun, and anything that detracts from that lowers its ranking. I'm not a min max type of player, so basically, every game after the first one gets an automatic negative since many skills are obviously tuned for min max players and gameplay balance was even slightly adjusted to accommodate the potential ridiculous builds. My friends, I tried to get them into borderlands 3, and they felt completely lost looking at the skill tree. They had no clue what was useful and what wasn't. They didn't play for long.

As someone who used the same weapon as soon as I got to max level I realized overtime it is best to use a variety of guns.
Well, you really made this video in time, I started up pre-sequel for the first time in 3 years and my buddy joins me, but he kept constantly trying to get me on bl3 I got flak to lvl 72, but I was on my lvl45 Zane which became lvl 69 in 2 hours… his flak was maxed to 72 and not just his lvl but his entire skill tree was maxed out ever single skill, and he kept challenging me, so me playing I fought him ducked and weaved for an HOUR, so he 1 taps me obviously and was being sarcastic saying he didn’t mean to do that, so I said that was destined to happen, and he switched into a toxic direction of “oh you’ll never beat me” this that and the other, I told him did we not establish your glitched skill tree, why in gods name is anyone taking it that seriously 💀

Bl3 has the best mechanics and quality of life. But I didn’t finish the story. Partly because I was finishing college but also because none of my friends has the game.
I will say that I end up enjoying BL3 the most because of its mechanics and quality of life features alone. On a technical standpoint, the gameplay alone carries the game (even though, vague spoiler warning, the story is absolute garbage)
Picking bl3 back up and finishing it would be like commiting suicide just because its something uve never done before save yourself the trouble of touching that game

But the game itself... the world, the charachters, the gameplay, the whole dual-class system and the new weapon styles and spells and stuff.... amazing. So much fun. I didn't see a legendary til level 25 and it felt very rewarding.
I think with the loot luck and chaos chamber format with the barf bunnies and stuff... it kinda hampered the God-Build farmers who put more emphasis on the min/max boss melting thing they got from Borderlands.
Its just a different game, a side story completely separate from the Borderlands universe beyond featuring Tina. And people wanted more Borderlands.
I love the Medieval fantasy setting and the D&D charachter attribute system and the Overworld board game part.
I think the DLC and the expansion of the Chaos chambers to 100 was added just to appease the people who wanted more min/maxing endgame stuff. But the point of the game is 100% in the story campaign.
I would have loved it if the DLC was new maps and more of the same story-driven D&D questing. I do not care about the God Build and perfect roll weapon farming and stuff. Even with Borderlands... I am all about the story game. When I complete it, thats it. I don't spend hours and hours farming. I just play another round with a different charachter and make do with what I get in the game.
I think its what gives it replayability, its different every time.
If you spend all your time aqquiring the best guns and gear every time, its the same thing every time. The game becomes a list of redundant chores.

Power Level Patricks sure are annoying I do agree. But another I think to be lumped in with them have to be the Power Level Pauls, the guys who incessantly bother you and other random players to power level themselves. Basically the role-reverse of the first one. I swear last I tried playing some nice co-op in TPS I did run into some fun Claptrap and Jack players but I also had a surprising amount of people DMing me to power level them with one of my lvl 70s whilst I was... y'know trying to enjoy a fun game with a new character with some randos online. Like I agree part of the fun is building up your character from scratch, getting to those high levels on your own, hunting down all that good loot for your build, speccing into what you feel is best for your skill tree, the last thing I wanna do when building up my own new character from scratch is to drop what I'm doing and get this rando some levels.
I’d add in the player that won’t stop grinding for the 94% Sham, Sham Sam. The kind of player that farms perfect parts.

@@SporianSummit that kind of absurdity is why I loved Wonderlands so much. I am not real big on the endgame god build stuff. I enjoy the story and quests. Wonderlands was the most fun. Some of those maps are amazing. Its easier than Borderlands, I would say... or the classes are more powerful, cus I played the whole game pretty much without legendaries. They made the purples better. I had a cryo Deodand with a pixie that cleaned house.
And there were not as many really tough bosses as Borderlands 3 either. It was a more laid back game. I don't think the endgame was the emphasis on this one, it was more about the story. It was a game of D&D. Even that DLC and the Chaos Chamber stuff seemed tacked on to cater to the people that wanted to farm and build cracked charachters and have bigger challenges. That was the biggest complaint about the game originally. Nothing to do after the story.
It was kinda a tweener though, it was never gonna be as big as Borderlands. Like the unumbered Far Cry games. Slightly different systems and mechanics, an imaginary setting and a little smaller and shorter... but it still feels like the main entries.
I hope they make another one.

I think BL3 is by far the better game in terms of mechanics, visual presentation, and QOL, BL2 is the best in terms of tone, setting, and story.
It's almost like they kept the same development team who then iterated on their previous work to make something better, but scrapped the writers for a fanfic squad.

Literally nothing else is important. This mindset is what leads directly to the power leveling and the cheesing and the bullshit. Get to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Overpower 10 as fast as possible, because only the endgame matters. To paraphrase a perfect example of what I was told: The first playthrough is the intro. True Vault Hunter mode is the actual game, Ultimate Vault Hunter mode is for when you git gud, and Overpower 10 (because 1 - 9 don't matter) is the endgame. And if you're not working toward the endgame, and playing the endgame, and farming the endgame, with a build that can solo the endgame, then you're either not good or you don't like the game as much as you think you do. And this loops ALL the way back to "It's great that you have an opinion. Your opinion would sound a whole lot more interesting if I cared." Again, as so many have said: let people enjoy the game the way they want to. I'm gonna drop a hard truth, and some of you aren't going to like it. When you've done everything there is to do on normal mode? THAT'S the endgame. The rest is just higher difficulties of the same shit. It's literally the exact same game over and over again, but harder. That's it. There is no "endgame" from a higher difficulty, there's just more difficulty. If you ENJOY playing that hard, cool, do it. Show off on RUclips, because you should, because that's great. DO NOT try to make anyone else feel bad because they aren't as ambitious or as good as you. If you can't handle that? Go yell your opinion at a coral reef without scuba gear, and keep yelling until the coral reef plays Borderlands like you do. Don't worry, it'll turn out fine. This was a lot more text than I initially planned on.
Personally I think everything in the series has something to offer except new tales which is the worst parts of 3 and nothing else, bl3 has a better (in my opinion) endgame than bl2, plus I think that theres more buld variety than 2, but 2 has a much more fun early game than 3. Bl1 has a nice feel and it's simple, pre sequel has half of a good story and oz kit's which make the most interesting movement mechanics of the series
Probably get hate for this but the thing that comes closest to ruining Borderlands for me personally is the community itself.

BL2 will always be my favorite but I really liked 3 and I had a blast playing Wonderlands with my brother.

cheesy chads really are the worst especially in borderlands 1 where i swear to god that game has a heap load of players who will drop you modded weapons that will literally crash and corrupt your game files

I feel power leveling is ok but not on first playthrough for example I switched from Xbox to PlayStation and a buddy of mine on PlayStation wanted to do op levels with me so we played normal mode then power leveled me
How about the speed play through Steve's. These are the people that join your session and they just rush straight to the final boss of the level as quickly as possible.

I have a reliable borderlands friend that I met on forums years and years ago in the early days of borderlands 2. We’ve played every new borderlands game together and we always share loot. Sometimes when farming solo, I’ll keep an eye out for stuff for him for when we next play…
But the hate I feel when I meet players who take all the loot (Borderlands 2 and 1 I’m talking about here) even when it’s not for their character just because it’s shiny will always be my biggest peeve. They take the shiniest loot then ask why you keep dying. It’s a game I want to enjoy with someone not fight for scraps.
It’s why I’m always glad I have my borderlands buddy. We’ve played every game together and completed all the content. We’re currently replaying Borderlands 1 together and it’s…it’s just good manners to take turns with loot you know?

I don't wanna learn 7 billion things for one game. bl2 is more simple, more intuitive, more clear so even a child can understand whats going on, and it doesn't look and sound like HOT GARBAGE. I am not giving my life over so I can learn how to play one game. bl2 is plug and play. that is what's really up. it's diverse in that it is both competitive and casual, immersive and something else along the lines of pro gaming, like it can be farmed in a non role playing way for competitive gain, or you can just play psycho and pretend your really on pandora. bl3? what is that?!?!?!?! I've recently rekindled my love with Borderlands 1 on XB1. I hate seeing people begging for lv69 God-Rolls of items in the looking for group (being that there are only like...4 looking for group posts at any time). A lv69 God-Roll legendary is waaaaaay more rare than a Pearl and possibly even more rare than the legendary Eridian guns. I wish they'd just go farm the vending machines and loot midgets themselves. Also: I've farmed multiple God-Rolls of lv68 guns (my favorite being the Chimera) and haven't lost sleep over them not being lv69. Just recently found your content and have been enjoying it. My brother and I especially enjoyed your story of your first Borderlands rental. I love that your Grandma ended up buying it for you a year later too.

The biggest problem with UVHM is how you kinda just spend hours farming random stuff just cause the storiy/dlcs are nowhere near enough to get to the op levels

no i think i depends if it too much of an OP gun or just a looks of what is like on a high lvl, i think that can give the motivation to continue to playing that good atleast if it was balanced
I have powerleveled but in a single playthrough. And only after enjoying the game as it was intended. Would never powerlevel when playing with friends or online, that's just being a dick.

Yeah ngl it's crazy with how many complain about seeing different players in there game, yet they still don't use the single player option. It's not even just a borderlands thing either thing I've seen stuff like this multiple different games.
I've met some cool people in online games who were once just randoms, but it still urks me when I join an open lobby and get immediately kicked. Sometimes it'll happen several times in a row switching between lobbies, sometimes I'll message them asking why. It's always "I dOnT wANt PeOplE iN mY gaME"

Not only did this waste my time, but theirs as well. I just got home, I wanted to play a casual session and hang out for a bit with someone. Instead I've spent 30 minutes playing Menu Navigation Roulette and now I don't wanna play at all.
They sit there, going through the menus every 2 minutes kicking people who join. One at a time if several people join. They'll even die during all the menu scrolling and then get hit with the "host lost connection" screen. People's stupidity truly knows no bounds, mix that with laziness and it's enough to just close the game entirely and play something single player instead. Glad I don't even bother with online games anymore, unless it's Deep Rock Galactic. That's the exception.

I agree with all your points. I've been in some Borderlands Facebook group chats where people ask for help to take down a boss or help with leveling up. I left those chats. Just play the game and work your way up alone is the best way to enjoy any Borderlands game.

I agree with the leveling part, but, if someone needs help with a raid boss, I’ll definitely join with a character around their level, and make them fight the boss with me. After 1000+ hours since 2012, I’ll help anyone with anything borderlands related, except for modded weapons and boosting. That’s some bitch shit.

I think they are talking about cheezing and using a higher level charachter to help you skip levels, stockpile XP and aqquire OP gear so you don't have to actually play the game with any risk or challenge.
I hate when I reach a point in a game where its just steamrolling through a list of objectives with a tank charachter like its God Mode. Ubisoft games are bad for that. Far Cry 6 had no point after halfway through. Just chores.

One playthrough. No side quests. No dlc. Race to the first credits and then the game is done. I was so disappointed.

I actually bought new tales from the borderlands last week because i wanted to buy every borderlands game on PS4/PS5. I was able to get all of the borderlands games including new tales and tiny Tina wonderlands.

I dont have very many people that i can play with and not very often (and they are typically not really the gamer type), so i sort of act like player 1, and I'll farm the unique drops in-between our typical game sessions and then i either give them the cool legendary weapons and gear, or i drop it on the ground when they aren't looking anc claim that it eas a world drop.
