- 2001 Ducati Monster 600 Dark Wet Clutch Install Video
This is NOT meant to be an instructional video. I've been playing around with the idea of doing videos and figured this would be a nice start. It's simply a little video documenting my install. Enjoy.
Many people do not understand motorcycles and therefore watch videos of what they do. Also, the mechanic is smart and fast. But he did not point out how the clutch cover is, there is a line and it belongs to its place. He also doesn't say how strong he tightens screws.
Wasn't intended to be a full on instructional video. I referenced a book for all final torque specs.
How much torque do you applied to screws of the clutch?? Thanks!
Clutch housing, 900 and early 750 30-34 Nm
Clutch nut 137-147 Nm
Clutch hose union bolts 17-20 Nm
im wondering why you did this? just time to change out the plates?
Yup. The clutch was slipping.
how many miles did you put on your clutch before it started to slip. my 620 just got to 25k and its slipping something insane. swapping plates out asap. which brand plate kit did you use?
Ducati NYC Vlog , about 10,000 miles.
Damn. Mine has only just started slipping at 60'000km...
How much force you use to tighten the springs screws (nm)??
6 Nm
Do the plates have a specific order?
no. they pretty much all the same
Nope.
sorry but i have just bought the same model ( dark 600 2001) but every body i know tell me that it s à oil clutch on this bike?!! I don't understand anything...
No, this is a dry clutch meaning the oil lubricating the engine internals do not lubricate the clutch.
***Correction, this is a wet clutch. I was thinking of my 748.
@@DrummsToolBox How is it a dry clutch when the oil fill hole is there on that side cover? Is there a gasket for the cover?
@@JETHO321 You're right, I misspoke. I was thinking of my 748. The 2001 Monster 600 is a wet clutch.
