Been a fan of Trivium for well over a decade, I feel like this record is one the strongest they've released. So much energy and musicianship throughout the entire album.
This reaction is so priceless and awesome. I feel how you were feeling through and through. What a track. My mind was blown and still is. This is every trivium fans dream.
This its definetely my favorite album from the last five and its competing with any of the first five albums from Ember to In Waves. What a perfect 10 for the 10th album.
That first verse before the chorus reminded me more of the "breathe in the flames" fast part before you said "Ascendancy" which I can see as well. But I can't wait for the rest of your song reviews on this album.
I cant wait to cover this on the drums, but i gotta practice my double bass and finger technique, but once i get it, ill go for it. I can tell you when i kill it with the drums ;)
When that bass tapping kicked in, I was just so stunned because it was an absolute smack in the face of a tone shift, and then it just built and built and then choke slammed you back to earth with a monster drum fill by Alex.
Finally heard the whole album last night since I was saving as much as I could until I got a physical copy of the album and this song is my favorite of the whole album
I have a shotgun record hanging as the centerpiece on my wall. I might be ordering In the Court of the Dragon to go next to it. Its really an emotional experience for me, because I never thought they would hit that high again.
The fantastic freak out that catapults the song to a Nxt Level of sheer class is very like something from Death's more progressive , powerful final couple of albums. But Trivium have warped themselves into something special with this album. Yes you hear the ideas of Ascendency , and Shogun's slices of stellar supremacy, but nowadays they have totally honed a sound that effortlessy hones in all thats done before ,with a newer feel and approach. This new album is incredible and they are on an amazing streak of fire now.
Edit: you said that this is ascendency with something more. It’s basically like ascendency and shogun had a baby and then the spawn of those literally evolved into something beyond. This is my current favorite from this album. My jaw was on the floor for the first half then the solos kicked in and my face turned into 😳🤭
This reaction made me so happy. Idk why, but I couldn't help but smile the whole way through. Loved the song and the reaction. Also, I hope Trivium never leaves this formation, because is the best they have ever been, and all of them bring just the perfect thing to the table. BUT SPECIALLY DON'T LET ALEX BENT LEAVE!!
If Shogun is their best album for the remainder of their career, and everything else is competing for #2, I will forever be ok with that because what they’re releasing is still amazing.
I wasn’t expecting this! Enjoy!!!
anybody I think HAHAHA
You just said in the last video MORE BASS!!
Well, you got what you asked for!
@@joostravesloot6125 exactly hahahaha
The most ‘ascendancy’ sounding track they’ve done since, it’s so goddamn glorious.

Maybe better than What the Dead Men Say but The Sin and The Sentence was better record than this.
@@sauron8617 ajajajajaajaajajajaajajaja
That bass swell you noticed was a Distorted/Wah pedal solo. Just like Cliff used to do. Paolo is killing it!
The picking pattern for the main riff sounds very similar to Ascendancy for sure. Such a killer riff. Probably my favorite song off the album.
7:42 I had the exact same reaction when I heard this part haha. Love your reactions dude!
SAME OMG I LEFT MY BODY AT THAT MOMENT.
We all had the same reaction
They nailed it
That mid section where the whole band pops off simultaneously blew me away! I was so caught off gaurd! Love the reaction!
This reaction is so priceless and awesome. I feel how you were feeling through and through. What a track. My mind was blown and still is. This is every trivium fans dream.
I feel the approach on this album was like "release the beast and go crazy" what a tremendous record

I can't WAIT for the reaction for The Shadow of the Abatoir, absolutely amazing track
This song is sick- and I completely agree that this may just be their best record.
I think What The Dead Man Say is waaaay better
@@WDMcClusky not even close
@@WDMcClusky no it's not, this one is much better
@@WDMcClusky they’re both fantastic, but i would say Dragon’s got the edge

agree but TSATS and WTDMS were very close to Shogun too imo.
@@sayok575 this dumps on the last 2 albums.
Shotgun is my favorite Trivium album too.
@@iChoseScylla 😂
That fucking pre chorus man. Ohhhhhhweeeeeed! That was so similar to the title track Ascendency, which was one of my fav riffs on the album.
I loved this album, they really bring it back to their older sound

yo this whole album was worth that 1 minute section, you know what im talking about if you heard it.
Can yall imagine what would have happened to Trivium if they had not found Alex. 3 albums now of next level!!!!
That riff at 6:13 gave me goosebumps
07:47 EXACTLY MY REACTION! :D I might even have made the same sound and face impressions. Its just stunning.
This song is everything you could need in a trivium song I love it..

your reaction is the best man, thank you so much \m/
Really some reminiscence of ascendancy.
My personal favorite so far. Awesome song and Paolo is a beast

The chorus seems like a Ember to Inferno chorus.. This song could be taken from it or Ascendancy !!
Right. Everyone always compares to ascendancy but where's love for ember? Lol
@@unboxreacts7435 I loved Ember I appreciate all of their music. Even silence in the ❄
Your reaction is the same as mine LOL that bass tapping bit had me going "OH FUCK"
I do prefer the defiant but this is awesome!
Best Trivium album that top Ascendancy and Shogun.
I had the same reaction. Just laughing at how absolutely insane this is!
wait until abattoir lol
Never cared for this band but holy shit, this song is fire !
Ascendancy vibes
7:40 hahahahaha better than sex!
This song has only one job, saying In Your Face 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿

Haha love the reaction 😆😆😆

I already listened to the whole new album and I think that Shogun is better. But that's just my opinion
oh for sure, but this is there best stuff since shogun, and what the dead men say and the sin and the sentence was no joke
