I am brazilian and i love musicals! In our country it is not very common for us to like musicals, but because teledramaturgy is very strong, we have many artistic references to theater! So big productions often get adaptations for the country in the theater! they are very successful! But for cinema, it's not very common for musical films to be so successful. Some films break this bubble in Brazil, the joker seems promising because from what I researched, most of the songs will be well-known hits performed by the two main characters!

Why is no one doing their research? Phillips 2 days ago came out and said it's not a musical. The movie won't sway too far from the original but it does have a musical element to it.

I'm not a fan of musicals, but this is a sequel to one of the most successful movies of all time! With Joaquin Phoenix delivering an Oscar Worthy Performance as The Joker and possibly getting Nominated for a sequel as well so I am definitely interested and intrigued with this one, also it being sort of different from the first film makes me more intrigued to see what Todd Phillips has in store with this one, adding a musical element to this one is a risky move but if Joaquin signed up for it and Todd is directing and all the same writers and producers on board then I have high hopes for this! They can't screw this one up, especially because of how good the first film was. I personally don't think this film will suck but I can see it being very divisive.

The Harley Quinn “ Finger gun pointing to her head” was a nod back to the first film outside the lift with Sophie.
Harley Quinn is not a patient either she’s obviously either a musical Theorpist or a volunteer .. if you notice she’s not locked up at any point in the trailer .. she will manipulate JOKER .. just my opinion should be great

I really enjoyed the first Joker film; I really felt for the character and how the film represented mental health. When I heard they were making a sequel, and it was going to be a "musical," I was a bit cautious. After watching this teaser trailer, I'm guessing the film won't be a musical in the traditional sense, i.e. Chicago, Rent, West Side Story, etc. and just a film with some musical moments scattered throughout. Can't wait for this and The Batman 2!

The Joker was EVERYTHING!!! Amd should have won somebody's Oscar something....this trailer was not it... I will give the actual movie a peek and a gander. But I have a feeling. that GAGA is nowhere near Margo Robbie from the Suicide Squad.... Even though that film was more comical, it's still had a certain intensity and a relationship between the two main characters... I'm not gonna count them out yet. And I will give them a chance, but i'm still not convinced from that trailer... Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing method actor but the addition of GaGa is giving me a stunt that they just didn't need... GAGA is a talent that needs her own moment if she's gonna win the Oscar that she has always wanted as a lead actress.

Fall Out Boys' song called "America's Suitehearts".
The music video was them being circus characters, and there's a guy who fell into a green goo which then turned him to a crazy clown type circus master. Then a girl watching him, who I guess kinda liked him, followed him to the circus and also fell into the goo.
They then became sort of partners, that were crazy together.
It's very similar to a Joker and Harley Quinn love story. Coincidence??
And get this, the song "America's Suithearts" was from Fall Out Boy's album called FOLIE á DEUX...

I have a feeling the underlying social commentary of this movie will be about how we have allowed ourselves to be manipulated, used and desecrated by the cultural propaganda society keeps spewing all over us, and how we get pulled into insane world views by enigmatic and catastrophic figures, deluding so many of us en masse like a super charged algorithm meant to capture our consciousness like Stockholm Syndrome and control us like overly emotional puppets.
