    Incredible amazing! a bunch of (terrific) kids doing better than a lot of "seasoned" pro musicians! singer is inside inner of the song!! lead guitar player got the groove and essence of the original solo with spectacular force and expression, flute, keyboard and bass player girls plenty of attitude, drummer was steady, energic and free of fly on tempo advancing, solid rhythms guitarists, Every band member make it great! One of the best covers ever IMHO.

      @@MidWestConcertVideo2 I have indeed, and watching that show every Friday night in 1973 is the reason my wife and I drove 90 miles one-way to see Steely Dan at the U. of Toledo in April 1974. No internet back then, so we had no idea that we would also be introduced to future blue-eyed soul legend Michael McDonald as one of the band members that day. We call it the concert of our lives, because Becker & Fagen wouldn't tour again until August of 1993 (and never again with that lineup). We had to follow guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and McDonald over to The Doobie Brothers to get our live music fix for the rest of the decade.

      Pretty much all of these young musicians are in their own bands. What the School of Rock provides to them is what young musicians most need - a place to practice, a time to practice, people to practice with, and most importantly, knowledgeable and dedicated teachers, all of whom are working musicians.
      They have to leave when they're 18, and by the time they reach this level, they could pretty much step into any band in town. Heck, I know one kid who beat 150 pros in the city of Chicago to get the job as the house drummer at the local production of the Blue Man Group. A musician's union gig at an age when most are lucky to get a job working the fry machine at Mickey D's.

    • @MidWestConcertVideo2
      @MidWestConcertVideo2  3 года назад

      The bigger the venue, the better the sound. This was shot in the back of a record store. The problem is loud guitar amps means that the guitar and bass rarely wind up in the main sound system, and that's the feed that I'm getting. The only option to get audio that's as good as my video would be to record every single channel, and that rarely is a possibility.
