It makes sense by season 7 during Bakugo vs Shiggy 2, he says that he's seen people who were weak or sad try to be better, and has seen improvement overtime. He doesn't only mean Izuku but his classmates, heroes, people, he no longer sees everyone else as an extra, but a supporting actor to his story.
This song definitely gets the feel of the 2nd half of season 6 Hot take: Vigilante Deku was actually pretty good. It showed growth in Deku and I respect his reason for becoming Vigilante Deku.

This song mean so much more to me ever since I learned the real meaning of it, when I learned this was Bakugo singing to Deku I could not be happier! I knew that Datte Atashi No Hero was Deku singing his feelings to Bakugo and I intended Shout Baby was the both of them singing about their feelings about each other but I didn’t know it was factual! Apparently there’s an ending of Deku singing to Bakugo, Bakugo singing to Deku and the both of the singing to each other which is mind blowing to me! Both of them called each other their heroes and they care so much about each other!! All three of these songs make me emotional because of their sweet meanings, it upsets me sometimes when people don’t want to se the true meaning of it and want to forget it even exists but they’re stupid then! If you didn’t know this was the meaning of it and thought it meant something else then I don’t blame you because I definitely thought this song was from Deku not about Deku! xD No matter how many times you might try and deny BakuDeku you can’t deny they are soulmates Platonically or Romantically. 🧡💚 They have so much love and care for each other and their dynamic is amazing!
