Today is the 2nd death anniversary of my childhood dog.
I've moved on and look back fondly of my memories with him, but I thought about why I was so torn up about his loss. It was the worst week I've had to endure in my entire life, slowly watching him lose more and more energy and be wrapped in bandages and pinned with syringes.
I regret a lot of things since that time, but I've learned to make decisions for my own because of it and take control with choices for my life. So here's a song for me finally coming to terms with things and having introspection for it.

I jus realized that the singer comes into focus giving us color and visuals. that allows us to step in and fell the emotions as we relate. but the doctor remains shrouded in shadows. because when you feel like its your fault or you screwed up you don't want to hear others say your wrong it just feels fake like they're lying to make you feel better. you don't want to be told you need help or your wrong for feeling that way. so the doctor remains shrouded in shadows to give that cold and distant feeling.

I felt this one. There comes a point in ur control-freakiness when it feels better to blame urself for not doing the right thing, even when doing that feels awful, because admitting u just had no control over the situation just feels so scary.

Sometimes is does really hurt realizing that you could have done nothing to stop what hurt/traumatized you.
I relate to that feeling because of a wrong brain chemical reaction messing up my life. When I was young, I used to overreact a lot. One time when I overreacted, my brain misinterpreted the emotion I was exhibiting for something more major, making me feel like something majorly upsetting/traumatizing had happened. To make it even worse, it trauma blocked the moment from my memory so I have no real way of telling whether it actually happened, or if I'm just being delusional.
This hits real deep, I've had issues of blaming myself for years, watching a neighbours house burn down with her inside, being unable to save her, it feels so much better to keep thinking i had the power to change events.
Its even affected my family life, trying to cut out my father, but its so hard, as if I do then thats admitting I can't repair whats been broken for longer than i remember

One of the most damaging feelings is that of hopelessness, its something that burdens us whenever we know nothing we do and nothing we say will ever amount to anything, so instead we do things to try to take that control back, even if it means beating ourselves up for what we could've done, simply because we would rather be a failure than nothing at all. Both a pretty good song and message, keep up the good work.

I hate the fact that I relate to this so much 😭
My pet rabbit was killed by my dad as a way of punishment for my behavior as a kid and I definitely felt this exact feeling. Your song hit ny heartstrings as though it fully represented that painful feeling of helplessness.
Then my little brother did suicide recently this year due to bullying and other stuff, he is 12. As the older and the one who witness this act first hand, self blame is appararent. Especially since people will think I made him do it, or that I was a factor.
It hurt less thinking it is my fault rather that in no matter timeline this would have happened. Atleast I know where to direct this feeling and I don't hurt anyone else in the process. Atleast the hate is at me than towards my brother. Cause that would hurt more that anything in the world.
