    Hey Bill! Not sure if you still actively respond to messages on here but I had a few questions. I’m planning on building a similar surround and wanted to ask if the metal collar or the nearby wood gets hot? I was actually considering building the top out of trex plastic decking material because it’s weatherproof and would match my deck, but I’m concerned about how hot the nearby surface gets. Also, do you think the height of your table is appropriate compared to the height of the fire pit? I’m planning to make mine a few inches lower than the top of the solo stove to keep it a bit cooler, but wanted your thoughts on that too. Thanks!

    great video, short and to the point. Did your brother make the table legs, or where can I order? For the ring on the table, did you have to insulate/shield it?
    Just a heads up with using the Christmas tree for this careful with burning the Coniferous needles contain nitrogen and toxins when burned, making the smoke in your fire pit unsafe to breather.

    • @justbill
      @justbill  Год назад +1

      The legs were from Amazon, the ring is a good idea because the sides get pretty hot, thanks for the info on the Christmas tree. I will keep that in mind

    Great info, thanks for sharing! I've had my 2.0 a couple of months and I'm also worried the dog is going to catch his tail on fire or bump into it. My patio is very small but I am going to have to do some sort of surround. Have you ever had an issue with the surround table being made of wood? I saw you put drinks on it, etc., so does it not get too hot on the surround table with the DIY heat deflector?
    I just got the shield and I'll be making a DIY deflector like you posted, because the Solo brand shield and deflector don't fit to be used simultaneously.

      I have not had any issues. There is a metal ring in between the stove and surround

    What is that black ring in the wood? Where can I get it? Are the legs from home depot as well?
