Instead of penalising every pensioner because of the actions of a few people, why not actually use the law as it should be used and put them in prison.
I see your point but the fact is our prisons are already overcrowded that Judges are being forced to find other punishments for people who richly deserve prison. I suggest imposing work on them that they are capable of doing. Possibly impose working for a charity.

Clearly JSO protesters don't know that UKs north sea oil production has fallen by over 60% over the last 30 years. And despite new licences being sold, this trend is predicted to continue to fall with old oil fields due to be closed. Which means we need to import more oil and gas.

If they want people to stop using oil, then they're going to have to be prepared to live how people lived before oil came about. That means that they wouldn't be able to watch TV, travel anywhere without having to actually use their legs, or drink their precious alcohol. It also means that they wouldn't be able to go abroad on holiday unless they have the knowledge to build boats using just stone tools, nor would they have any products they use in a daily basis.
