My theory: Gat fights back all of the MorningStar attacking him, The gunshots were Philippe shooting his own man that was used as a human shield and then Gat smashes the man into the intercom making Shaundi think he was dead, Now I believe that after that Zinyak abducts him after seeing how powerful he is and replaces the man he killed with an alien that has shape shifted to portray that man you throw a parachute at.
What I've thought for a long time is something once brought to my attention. Perhaps Gat saw an opportunity in the plane to act like he was dead because he hated the sell out direction the Saints took. So he thought the best way to handle things without making them think he was betraying them was to act like he died. That way he could be by himself for a while without any worries and and just think things over.

Personally I always thought that this never should have been a trailer, gats return would have been a lot more impactful if it came out of nowhere like the ending of saints row 1.

I think what happened is when gat says "I'll see you back in still *gunfire*, gat let go of the intercom button and he fought the guy for the parachute. Then the guy sat down and waited or something and was later shot by the boss
Here's what actually happened: Gat was fighting while speaking on he intercom. You could hear the shooting, which was the Morningstar, and the intercom went dead. However, Gat was not dead. He grabbed a human shield once he saw the shots then got another guy and threw him into the intercom. After he defeated all the other guys, Zin Yak came and abducted Gat. This was while the guy with pink glasses was unconscious. After you got out and went back in the plane, the guy regained consciousness.
I think Gat started off in the cockpit and tried to fly the plane but then Loren sends his goons to fight Gat. Gat then fights off all of Loren's goons during the intercom bit. Then the intercom get's shot and Gat doesn't. The guy with pink glasses wasn't casually sitting down but instead he was taking cover and getting ready to fight Gat but as he was about to fight him the boss comes in and throws the parachute at him.
It's confusing to me too, because going back to sr3 when Shaundi and the boss are at the speaker contacting Gat, there's struggling on the other end before Gat is cutt off by gunfire, leading to "cold fact" he was killed. But after the first skydiving deal,....on to shooting the windshield out the plane, I forgot about the pink sunglasses dude,...until he reoccurred on sr4 when Gat was beating him up. Idk..
they have revealed that completing homie loyalty missions gives them superpowers, so that they may better keep up with the player. that explains why gat has super powers, the player has done his loyalty mission by that point
So maybe if the plain did crash, it must have landed either far from Steel Port in the ocean, or the plane was about to crash but someone redirected the plane from crashing and it kept on going. Then, the aliens must have took hold of the remaining people on the plane. Or, there was an alien on the plane in a secured box, and the other aliens tried finding their pal and found him on the same plane Gat was in. There are so many possibilities for what ever happened to Gat.

I have a plausible theory on Zombie Gat! Phillip stabbed Johnny in the plane (in front of our eyes, as he was stabbed in the stomach when he untied himself). Realizing an army of Gats would be a nightmare to adversaries, Phillip had the blood sample spliced & a gat clone was made, perhaps after his death. If it was, it would only make sense the morning star would move their experiment somewhere that the boss didn't know of, like the power plant on zombie island, so he was infected. Clone zombie.
I never believed Johnny was dead in the Third until the credits were rolling. Literally the entire time I was expecting him to pop out at a climax, some outrageously large weapon in his hand, say something awesome, and blow your remaining enemies to Stillwater.

Actually, this "Unique" knife attack that Johnny uses a few times in the trailer, is a recycled animation. I started a new game of Saints Row; The Third, and during the final parts of the first mission, the stillwater bank heist, I witnessed Gat do the same exact execution-style knife kill to one of the Riot shield SWAT team members, right before the attack helicopter showed up.

And Gat beating the shit out of Loren, was not his simulation, it was his loyalty mission also.
During a livestream I watched about SRIV one of the developers stated that you cannot customize the mech and it is only a real world manifestation (not in the simulation) as you would not need a mec with super powers. On top of this The Protagonist is wearing his Space Uniform and not regular clothes, this leads me to believe that you rescue Johnny IRL and not in the simulation (hence why you need the mech since you won't have super powers)
They originally didnt plan on bringing back gat but the consumer response to the death of everyones favorite badass made them reinstate the gteatest badass on videogame history. Gat survived the attack but was abducted by zinyak because he posed a major threat to the upcoming invasion

I knew Gat never died, i went off the act that 1: we didn't see a body, 2: they wouldn't kill off one of their main characters from another game in the first mission. Also the guy forgot to say how after they hear a gunshot, the syndicate boss gets near the com and speaks, where was johny then? How did that boss survive? Do i need to replay the third again? Of course, after i saw zombie Gat, i was pretty convince that was him and he had died, of course the zombie gat might have been an "out of story, in game" type thing, as in he doesn't really affect, or even exist in the story where the other characters would interact with him, but he is IN the game. Well I have a idea for this, maybe Gat did die but remember to one of the dlc's in saint rows 3, where the geek managed to grab some of Gat's DNA and recreate him as a giant like oleg, maybe the alien race manage to obtain said DNA and recreated Gat as his orginal self since they have advance technology. Also look at the scene where Gat puts on his glasses you can clearly see his inner organs like his lungs. Which would help the theory of him being a more well deveolped clone
about what happen on the plane, I think they tried to make sense of the situation because they had no plans of really brining him back, but since they got a lot of complaints from fans of Gat they decided to bring him back and do the best they can to make sense.
For the airplane thing in sr 3 gat jumps out of the plane but he only throws the parachute at him so probably it was before that scene because after the 1st mission in sr3 the plane crashes

what happens is that gat smashes the guys head on the button thing and then he gets shot at and uses the guy as a meat sheild then he smashes the moring star boses face into a window but still alive then when every ones dead zynyak takes him because he thinks he could singley handed take him down
I reckon the Aliens had been studying earth for some time so Gat was either abducted by the aliens for questioning and such during the Plane fight OR they picked up his body afterwards and cloned/healed it before questioning him like before..
maybe Gat hit that guy in the plane communicator, but he didn't die, then gat throws him in the couch and runs away. so while you pass flying trough the plane, gat is fighting Morning Star. so Gat SURVIVED

First off before I begin my theory I would like to state Gat has already been confirmed dead. My theory is, yes Gat died, the Gat in the trailer is just a clone made by either the Saints, to keep him going, or the Zinyak for some reason. The super power parts have me believe it is a created character, the player, thus he isn't wearing the jacket. I feel clone Gat's simulation of fear is his death, and he conquers it by not dying within it. Though the real one does.
you first start off with gat normally then when you do all his side missions and get his power his cloths change it's called a super homies you can call a super powered gat or just the normal gat but this isn't only for johnny gat it's for everyone else
Well the company had said that aisha might be part robot im not 100% sure if thats true but she will be back. Also for carlos the company said that he will be human again with the zombie carlos gone. Some of the company members said that there might be a mission where you go back to the mission where carlos dies but this time you have to rescue him. The same goes for lin she was said that she never died but someone said that she faked her own death.
Actually what really happened in the plane is he died. Volition even said the original cutscene showed Gat getting stabbed and shot many times. I think Volition only brought him back because fans kept on asking.

3:05 Professor Genki's wasn't Gat's simulation, that was Gat's loyalty mission and the reason that the Boss wasn't surprised about Gat's return is because that Kenzie mentioned about Gat being in Zin ship. Gat's got superpowers is because if you do his loyalty mission, he can get it. And the robot is not his homie. And you're right, Gat was kidnapped by Zinyak and it was a flashback. And Gat beating the shit out of Loren, was not his simulation, it was his loyalty mission also.

That guy Gat was fighting actually died but an alien morphed into him then shot the intercom then teleported Gat into the space ship.
During a livestream I watched about SRIV one of the developers stated that you cannot customize the mech and it is only a real world manifestation (not in the simulation) as you would not need a mec with super powers. On top of this The Protagonist is wearing his Space Uniform and not regular clothes, this leads me to believe that you rescue Johnny IRL and not in the simulation (hence why you need the mech since you won't have super powers)
They originally didnt plan on bringing back gat but the consumer response to the death of everyones favorite badass made them reinstate the gteatest badass on videogame history. Gat survived the attack but was abducted by zinyak because he posed a major threat to the upcoming invasion

I knew Gat never died, i went off the act that 1: we didn't see a body, 2: they wouldn't kill off one of their main characters from another game in the first mission. Also the guy forgot to say how after they hear a gunshot, the syndicate boss gets near the com and speaks, where was johny then? How did that boss survive? Do i need to replay the third again?
Of course, after i saw zombie Gat, i was pretty convince that was him and he had died, of course the zombie gat might have been an "out of story, in game" type thing, as in he doesn't really affect, or even exist in the story where the other characters would interact with him, but he is IN the game.

My theory is that he very nearly died, but Zin ''scouts'' recovered his body and put him in the Sim and made him regenerate.

Well I have a idea for this, maybe Gat did die but remember to one of the dlc's in saint rows 3, where the geek managed to grab some of Gat's DNA and recreate him as a giant like oleg, maybe the alien race manage to obtain said DNA and recreated Gat as his orginal self since they have advance technology. Also look at the scene where Gat puts on his glasses you can clearly see his inner organs like his lungs. Which would help the theory of him being a more well deveolped clone
about what happen on the plane, I think they tried to make sense of the situation because they had no plans of really brining him back, but since they got a lot of complaints from fans of Gat they decided to bring him back and do the best they can to make sense.
And then johnny’s simulation ended up being streets of rage
For the airplane thing in sr 3 gat jumps out of the plane but he only throws the parachute at him so probably it was before that scene because after the 1st mission in sr3 the plane crashes
And I think when gat is on the plane it might be him telling you how he escaped

I reckon the Aliens had been studying earth for some time so Gat was either abducted by the aliens for questioning and such during the Plane fight OR they picked up his body afterwards and cloned/healed it before questioning him like before..
Gat is alive there is game play of him outside of the simulation where you have the option to romance him

First off before I begin my theory I would like to state Gat has already been confirmed dead. My theory is, yes Gat died, the Gat in the trailer is just a clone made by either the Saints, to keep him going, or the Zinyak for some reason. The super power parts have me believe it is a created character, the player, thus he isn't wearing the jacket. I feel clone Gat's simulation of fear is his death, and he conquers it by not dying within it. Though the real one does.

you first start off with gat normally then when you do all his side missions and get his power his cloths change it's called a super homies you can call a super powered gat or just the normal gat but this isn't only for johnny gat it's for everyone else
Well the company had said that aisha might be part robot im not 100% sure if thats true but she will be back. Also for carlos the company said that he will be human again with the zombie carlos gone. Some of the company members said that there might be a mission where you go back to the mission where carlos dies but this time you have to rescue him. The same goes for lin she was said that she never died but someone said that she faked her own death.

Actually what really happened in the plane is he died. Volition even said the original cutscene showed Gat getting stabbed and shot many times. I think Volition only brought him back because fans kept on asking.
