My grandpa had a 4020 and a 4640 on the family poultry farm both he ended up turbo charging as the 46 spent most of the time running a Kuhn pro push spreader or other bigger machines needing a higher HP the 4020 was used mostly for running the hydraulic power pack that powers the clean out conveyors, snow blower in the winter months and occasionally the straw chopper as we use that for bedding in the barns
Sure is a purty little thing! I can’t wait to see the results when you put the twist in her tail… Or is that taking the twist out?🤔 Beautiful work gentlemen, I’m still mesmerized by the bends in the injection lines😎 Bless’ns to the lot of ya’s, Tedd
Bill you talked about the transfer pump is off of a 12 cylinder .What is the pressure it puts out to supply the injection pump ? The one I have doesn’t have primer on it and I couldn’t use on my A pump wouldn’t bolt on something to do the cam they put in the pump when it was built. Thanks
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 I have a turboed 4230 and 4240 with 4440/4430 turbo set up 4320 exhaust elbows so it comes out of the factory hole in the hood would be interested in putting the inline pump on them could I contact you, I love your content and channel, no one explains a lot of the turbo set ups and what works I'm a big fan of the 4010 repower as well
In my opinion, that was John Deere's best era of tractors
I would agree!
Ya got my vote!

Hey Bill,,what is the stock compression on that engine?
Hey Ron! 18 to one.
Is that a stock 4240 466 short block with a inline like 4440 and a 55 head or is is a full build 44 or 46 466?
Hey Brian! 4240 with an inline and 55 series head.

What size turbo is that? S366?
Hey JD! It's an "S300," but it's been machined out for larger inards.
What is the pump timing at and what injectors
Hey Bobby, 28 degrees, they are not 55 series injectors, they are big tip injectors, I'm not able to tell you any more about them.
@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Thanks. I have 4240 with 55 series head and all I can get out of it is 5 gear
