o7! Man, you made me rethink my favela and poverty building strategy ))) very nice built city. Think you may win contest in urban planning in RL ))
Btw, do you increase taxes?
Thank you very much! Glad you like it. Don't think I will win a price, but I make a descent town I guess.
I usually play with a pretty "small" economy. So I lower taxes but also salary. Workers and Laborer to 1.1.
I do raise a high wealthtax with a threshold of 50 or 60. So they will accumulate money up until 50 or 60 and then all else will go to me. So they always have all they need to buy stuff etc. I also lower the foodprice to 20% and the price of me buying from them to 10%. Most income comes from trade and later the wealthtax and Tavern/barber surgeon tax. I can give you a complete overview if you want. This is all from memory!
@@PatmosIV thank you for reply and info. New to the game, so been experimenting. Raised all taxes, some labor and workers salaries as well (lamberjacks been escaping their duty and one moment I got into dead-end without charcoal - no smithwork, no nails, no money -:))) so after improving my financial situation by raising taxes many families went bankrupt and I had to bail them out))) mostly newbies - who haven’t adopted to my play haha (land tax what made them bankrupt btw)
@wondernews welcome to the game then! It is an amazing game and the fun part for me is figuring that stuff out! So hope you have a fun time with that too! I do have a beginners guide on the channel if you are interested. Part 2 is almost finished so will go live soon I hope. That one covers my economy settings.
I feel like the villagers would like a slightly bigger church now. I don't know about ortodox christianity or whatever kind of christianity is in this town but if they go to church on Sunday then the wouldn't fit in the chapel you have now.
I agree! And I recorded the next two episodes already and I can assure you: we are building a church!
Here we come to distinction between " ves' ", "selo", and "khutir", histiricaly speaking. They all now go under the blanket term "village", or "село". Then, if you had already established monastery, and build around - that what was called "село". If you had settlement of 5 - 10 families half day away of nearest settlement with church - you had "хутір", and you could travel half day once a week to nearest church. But more often that church had not one priest, but one iërey (піп) and several diakons (дяк, диякон). Iërey performed liturgies in church, and diakons in chapels, situated in khutirs. If there were, like, more than day journey to nearest church, than it was called "sloboda" (слобода), and diakon lived there. When khutir or sloboda build church it became " ves' " (весь), and iërey was sent there by local bishop. So, technicaly, here we have "sloboda", where people have religious symbols at home in "pokuttia" (покуття) - corner of room with furnace you saw first entering, and for sunday liturgy they gathered in one if the houses, later, when sloboda grow bigger, we build them chapel, where diakon makes sacraments, and later we transform our sloboda into ves' by building a church.
You are very knowledgeable on the subject! And thank you very much for sharing! Hope I can remember some of this!
@@PatmosIV We had very passionate lecturer on "Historical toponimics" in uni.
Those are the best!
