This is another example of Ringo Starr at his best. He's still playing the drums and singing after all these years. Long live Ringo Starr and his legacy!
I've always thought Ringo's changed more over the years than any of the other Beatles. He just doesn't look at all like he used to, with short hair and a beard and everything. But get him behind a drum set and suddenly he looks exactly the same.
Hard to believe Ringo's 70 during this performance from 2010. He sure as heck doesn't look 70 here.

Captain Cardsworth I'll say this much. The Ringo VEVO channel is a bit confusing. I think they label the 2008 tour as 2010, and they certainly label the 1989 tour as 1992...
My grandma bought tickets to the Ringo Starr concert here in Spokane. So she and I are going to go. I saw rain which is a cover band of the beatles. But my grandma saw the real beatles when she was my age. Then she and my grandpa saw Paul McCartney and wings in concert in about 1990 or so. but now I get to see the one and only Ringo Starr in concert. It will be PHENOMENAL and the best day of my life.
wings didn't exist anymore since 1980. the 1990 band was not wings, it was just paul mccartney and his touring band, (hamish stuart and robbie mcintosh on guitars, wix wickens on keyboards and chris witten on drums. wix wickens still is his keyboardist). that tour was good, I love the album "tripping the live fantastic" and the video "get back" that came out of it.

Ringo was to the drums what Jimmy Page was the guitar. It wasn't just what they played but how they played it. Unique and incomparable. And it's hard to depict from watching casually, you have to watch intently, or just hear it a million times over, because it's so subtle, yet so present, it's what makes the music magical.

Ringo never plays live without a professional drummer playing along with him.
When he does his concerts he sings songs like photograph, little help etc as a lead singer out front so he needs a second drummer in the line up. Anyway, at 80 I would say he's earned it.
@@andrewvictor1865 thing is, even when he plays drums and doesn't sing, he always has a professional drummer playing along side him. He hasn't always been 80. He knows his limits and I respect him for that.

@@edwardhorwitz3980 I suspect (I don't know for sure) the other drum kit is miked up and Ringo's isn't. Ringo isn't confident/capable enough to perform live.

The song "Boys" is a cover song originally by 'The Shirelles', in which Ringo Starr changed a few lyrics around so it could sound more masculine for The Beatles' sake. If you've played 'The Beatles: Rock Band' it says so with one of the photos you unlock when playing the song in the video game. =] PEACE AND LOVE RINGO! \\//

YEAH...a quite phenomenal performance all round. Such conviction & attack. But who played that incredible (if short) guitar solo? Somebody out there...put me out of my misery. (Reminds me of Jimmy Page's session work from the 1960s.)
Ringo rearranged this song -dropped it down 2 steps (I guess he and the Boys can't sing as high as when they were Boys) and he changed the drumming that I don't think makes it better.
