    Though being familiar with the Savage (I have one since 2007), the mild explanatory pace and the soft background music ("Blackbird" nailed it) made this one a pleasure to watch. Thumbs up 🙂

    Thanks for the video. Is there a place for those shiny black hoses that go to air? Or just anywhere under the gas tank?

    I noticed you didn’t remove the 3 bolts on the side. Behind it there is a spring and rubber boot. I’m not well versed in how carburetors work, but should this be removed prior to submersing the housing to avoid the rubber deteriorating?

    My s40 is like having problems in 4th and 5th gear and I can’t push it to 100km I have a slip on exhaust. What do I do

    • @tpv59
      @tpv59 2 месяца назад

      Was it running 'perfectly' at one time AFTER the slip on? yes/no (I assume the answer is yes obviously!)
      Then it sounds like a (partially) blocked Main jet. NOT the Pilot jet.
      Clean the Main jet. (Clean both jets while you are at it)
      I understand the Pilot jet's 'job' is from 0-50% throttle, and the Main jet's 'job' is from 50% to 100% throttle.
      Good luck.

    I dont understand the intricacies of carburetor parts. So just curious, how come you didnt count turns on the jets and just sunk em in all the way?

    • @jakesworkshop1253
      @jakesworkshop1253  4 месяца назад +1

      Simply because that is how I found them when I opened it up. I checked each jet along the way and they were all sunk in all the way.

      Are you pulling out the choke before you start it? And keeping it out until the bike is warmed up?

    • @tpv59

      SIMPLY adjust the IDLE screw. It takes a FEW seconds!!! A FEW seconds.
      That is what the IDLE screw is for. It just takes a FEW seconds!!!!!
