that K03 is useless top end...its a GREAT turbo on most tracks and back twisties...in fact it will out run MOST high powered, expensive cars in those situations with a good driver...once theres a straight...see ya lol... thats why I went with a 3071 after years of FBO/E30 and getting tired of losing to anything over 300whp lol
@@dham99 couldn't agree more, honestly can't get enough how good this car feels on canyon runs, thinking of doing a power max or efr 6258. Not to big on just going straight speed.
Just got an ST yesterday, I test drove the wrx as well. It was more enjoyable on the test drive, but insurance wanted to screw me on it. So went ST, I have no regrets as of now.
If the ST could get the power down in 1st and 2nd gear, it would be a totally different beast. In gear, it does very well against cars that should smash it on paper. My mate's '17 plate S3 never gapped me much in my '14 plate ST on the motorway and I thought he'd walk away
They do if you get a bigger turbo. My 3071 hooks in 2nd with good tires. The stock turbos just to instant and when tuned having near 400lbs of torque is to much for a FWD car around 3000rpm.
I really enjoyed my ST when I had it, but 1st gear was useless. Recently picked up a WRX and launching from a stop is fun. Hard pressed to pick one over the other, they are both equally great vehicles. WRX hold there value and ST has nice cheap aftermarket performance
I can agree 1st gear is useless. You can do mounts and traction bars I had all the mounts, it would no longer hop out of the hole but still spin like a mofo. I also have an 2018 a5 now and it launches hard.
This is crazy, I have an FBO Dizzy Stage 2 93 Fiesta ST and I put a car length on a same year WRX with full exhaust, intake, and tune everytime we go to Mexico. Maybe driver error but it's literally every time.
When fbo the ST will always produce more torque, But the Wrx will always put down better HP numbers, kinda crazy how well they do against awd cars from a dig or a roll I own both 2010 wrx & 2013 Focus st both fbo dyno tuned locally.
RS is a much better car if you're keeping them stock. ST is a better platform tho imo. Big aftermarket and they take mods very well. I've heard the RS is unreliable when modified. You have to be very careful about who you choose to tune your focus tho

People fail to realize this is awd vs fwd. The fact that an awd car can keep up with a fwd car in a roll is respectable. Keep in mind that boxer engine is having to drive all 4 wheels. The power that gets to the ground is going to be less.
