    This is a 3-part structured course broken down into 1-hour long classes, designed and taught by artist, Kitty Maer (@kitty.maer).
    Why should you swatch your colours? To get to know the personalities of the watercolour paints you already have! When you’re friendly with your pigments, you’ll know how they behave with others, how to make substitutions, and ultimately watch your own personal palette develop all on its own.
    • A simple way to think about the colour wheel and how to make use of it;
    • A systematic method to make the swatching process less daunting and more efficient;
    • Several varieties of swatching methods;
    • Mixing greys, blacks, browns, and neutral tints;
    • Finding new life within your least favourite colours;
    • “Blind dates” - having fun experimenting with random mixes based on what you’ve learned so far;
    • How to think about creating custom palettes that meet your needs.
    This class is for beginner to intermediate artists, who are acquainted with the medium and supplies.
